5 pointsThe way I see it, you seemed to close that gap up on him slightly giving him no option. I would of backed of and given him a little more room. Ever made a mistake while driving ? No ones hurt...move on

3 pointsFeckin' eejit drivers doing 85-90km/h in the outside lane of a dual carriageway with nothing inside them. Not that they'd catch it anyway... And doing it while eating an ice cream! And the police traffic cop who passed her on the inside, didn't bat an eyelid, and pulled someone (not me!) over for doing just under 110km/h... Priorities. Wrong.

2 pointsBut she is new to me. Back in a BMW after too long. Had been looking for a while and finally a nice E23 found me. Not perfect, but pretty good. Took her to Dunedin and back last weekend and it was so good to drive. New wheels are the first thing on my list! Hopefully picking some up this weekend. Will be looking for plenty of advice in the coming months and years. Cheers

2 pointsHmm, the way I see it the Honda was ahead and in the right hand lane, merging like a zip principle doesn't apply here. The principles I'd apply are: Don't pass on the left of somebody If somebody is passing you on the right give them the right of way If I were in the left lane in this situation I'd consider it incumbent upon myself to let the Honda pass and I would have merged in behind them. If I were in the Honda I wouldn't have been passing that slowly that close to the merge point, I would have sped up.

2 pointsto give them their beans, the low rent coilovers have their place in other markets around the world, and when you have a shitty 1.4L FWD Golf overall performance isn't really at the top your priority list anyway. But here where we have certs, just a waste of time buying sh*t sets, even if your vehicle is like the above. Yellowspeed/XYZ/BC Gold etc all have the spring rate set independent from the ride height, and have adjustable shocks (XYZ have Koni shocks inside, not sure about the others). the cheap as chips one set the ride height at the same time as setting spring compression, what this means is softer spring rate to get lower, the downside of course being the lower you go the more shocking the handling.

2 pointsChanged the diff oil this morning. Damn, those plugs were tight! Used Castrol Syntrax 75W90. The BMW-supplied product is SAF-XO Synthetic Oil, which is 75W90. Sweet. The oil that came out actually looked a lot cleaner than I expected, and there was about the right amount. It did seem thinner than I'd expected, certainly thinner than the 75W90 I put in. And there was a small gravel chipping that came out too. The capacity is 1.1L which is so close to 'fill it 'til it comes out of the fill hole' as to be insignificant.

1 pointWhat is it about driving a BMW at a steady 100km/hr and minding my own business that makes people think it is okay to do this? Is it the M3 badge, or the 4 tail pipes? Maybe if it were someone else other than me they would have held their ground and nudged him out in front of the truck with nowhere to go....

1 pointJust thought I'd show the awesome job member Jasjot did on my 18" BBS LM's. They came over from Japan in pretty average condition, and Jas transformed them. Lips had minor curbing fixed and were polished, centres were powder coated satin black by ProCoat in East Tamaki and the bolts were tumbled. Centres were also reverse mounted. Awaiting new tyres and will post photos on car soon. Cheers bro, good work and great price! Highly recommend. Before After

1 pointAs always, Ray and HellBM are awesome. Viscous fan clutch gave up on my E36 and in so doing cracked the water pump. Happened on my way to work and I had just enough coolant (before it leaked away) to drop it at my regular mechanic in Kingsland. Ray had a replacement fan clutch there in a day. Much appreciated. Just wish it happened nearer home so I could have fixed it myself!

1 pointI had a similar issue last week with someone merging onto the highway from a side road. No traffic behind me and a truck in front and this doofus came screaming up alongside and with lot of gesticulating and swerving in my direction managed to get between myself and the truck, but only because I was to tired to be bothered with a bit of justifiable road rage so I backed off and let him in.

1 pointSee this all the time now I spend half my life in the car with our fabulous motoring public, I of cause am perfect and that's all I will declare
-
1 pointHmm, I think they missed the "merge like a zip" part of the test. And looking at the type of car they were driving, yes they were trying to make a point by getting in front of the M3.

1 pointAnd that is exactly the problem, I have seen too many dangerous repairs that some clown has thought "she'll be right", luckily only some resulted in accidents.

1 pointThere's a problem with the lock in the drivers door too... Probably due to wear. I can lock it, sometimes, and sometimes it'll lock the other doors too. But when you get behind the wheel you sometimes find the immobiliser hasn't deactivated! It's just 'character', right?

1 pointso you still need to get it certed after its had coild fitted, between 300-500 dollars. You will need to check with your cert guy as to what to buy, some cheap brands do not meet NZ specs and will not pass the cert processes. YEllow, XYX, fortune, BC are all sold in NZ and the cert guys will be familiar with them

1 pointOf course only 1 litre goes in the engine. The other four go on my driveway.

1 pointConsidering how much it costs to be a member here I think Josh and James are doing a damn good job! Perhaps if you don't like it so much he can refund you your membership fee?

1 pointGot another one! E36 316i manual for under $800. I now own THREE 316is. Oops. To be fair they are all different... E30, E36ti and now E36 sedan.

1 pointYulian - I think you simply went to somewhere that doesn't offer the service you require. It is as simple as that. Had you gone to 'ABC123 Acme Car Polishers' looking for a 'Ultimate Ceramic Coating' they might offer you a 'Super-Duper Waxy-Shiny Hard-Coat' polish, and tell you ceramic isn't needed: they'd hope to sell the service they have available. That's business. That's all there is to it. OCD are not ripping you or anyone else off - they are offering a specific service at an appropriate price. It's just not the service you wanted. And now you're bad-mouthing a company whose customers are happy with their service, potentially meaning your friends won't benefit from something that could be suitable for them. Please don't do that.

1 pointSounding like USA is about to get the first batch of 45000 air bags for the second recall. These are large campaigns to gear up for so I wouldn't expect it to be over night. Local dealer replaced my passenger one during a warrant. No charges where applied.
