Go watch the episode. They will prove your theory completely wrong, as all the dents they put in the system were maybe 200mm from the heads. And like said previously, even they ruled out a lot of the changes due to time of day, oil and water temp in the motor etc. etc. Think you need to go do some more research before you keep trolling. Watch that episode then tell everyone here (especially the ones that know that sh*t) that they're wrong. Then give me all the all the calculations to explain how the cross sectional area of the pipe has been reduced. Plus all the gas flow cals that say it is going to be severely restricted.

The market has spoken .... mine is not even worth 7k. It was the manual thing that makes it, otherwise it’s a white sedan. I loooove driving it so it stays if it’s only a 6k car

Okay, I refuse to drop my price any more and I’m cured of the preciousness I felt towards this car so i sold the recently purchased Mazda a this one ain’t for sale Any more. She’s the daily hack again. I don’t know where all those Beemerphiles who said I’d easily get 7.5 - 8k for it were when I actually listed it ?

So, I bought the $60 impact, and it worked alright. The nut came off, and my handtool socket didn't explode. The nut was hugely over torqued by whoever changed the front damper. I only got time to change one side yet. And I noticed it sit quite a bit higher due to the thickness of the strut mount I used. Now I am not a fan of stanced car, but the higher front does look a bit strange, and I don't know if it will introduce more understeer due to the lifted front suspension?

Funny, but pointless, as it is very easy to disconnect the remote keys from the car so it won't work. Hope it makes her feel better about the break up.

The cheap impacts are pretty sh*t, and yes it will damage a standard socket, so only use a cheap socket you dont care about. I have a $600 gun and impact sockets, which I'm happy to help you with, but I wont be back in Auckland for a week.

You can get away with running a rattle gun on a single hex non impact socket a few times, normally just beats up the 1/2" drive square on the top, doing it on a multihex (like the one I lent you) will kill it pretty quick and has the chance of rounding off the nut and making it even more of a mare Tried soaking it in WD40 and cooking it up good with a heatgun? I have a ryobi impact driver from bunnings, wasnt expensive (under 2 hundy from memory) and it has saved the day more than once, worth the money. If you are still stuck by the weekend bring it around Ill have a go (and that way I break my tool and not you )

Wow. Did you tell them you were a cash customer and didn't need an invoice? Either way, It's difficult to know if an electric impact of any description would be enough or that you could hold the shock shaft still enough to get your specific nut off. A shop would probably try once or twice then go straight to heat. As for using non-impact sockets - not advisable but still possible for something like this. I don't have impact sockets in most sizes and good quality normal sockets work fine, I just wouldn't beat on them time and time again.
