people don't seem to comprehend what "fully loaded" means, watched a you tube review of an i3, first paragraph "this car is fully loaded" one paragraph later "this is the base model with no range extender" can they not hear what they are saying? does it mean different things in different countries? Have i got it wrong? ?

I have been contemplating the M50b25TU vs the M52b25. The m50 has 141 Kw at 5900 and 245 Nm at 4200. The M52b25 has 125 kw at 5500 and 245 Nm at 3950. Obvious difference is the lower Kw number but the torque peak comes in at 350 rpm lower. What I cant see is the torque area under the curve which I suspect is greater for the M52. Looking at the Cam specs they are similar: M50B25tu 228º 9.0 4º 44º 228º 9.0 35º 13º M52B25 228º 9.0 4º 44º 228º 9.0 39º 9º The compression ratio of the engines is 10.5 to 1 and both have 84mm bore and 75mm stroke engines. The M50 has a cast iron block and the M52 alloy. The exhaut manifolds on M52's appear to flow better on an M50 but I am unsure what the restrictions past this are, CAT's? I am also unsure of head flow and valve sizes but I read somewhere that again they are similar. Lastly is the intake and this is a hoary old chestnut; M50 with big runners and M52 with small runners for better torque. The M50BTU has 140mm rods so less side thrust. So where is the extra 16kw hiding? is it purely the inlet manifold, rods or is it in the DME, do I just have to let it rev higher, after all 5500 for a Modern DOHC engine is pretty low, pushrod territory. I am asking as I am considering an m52b25 E36 for 2k Cup and if there is some cheap free HP hiding somewhere I would like it.

The weight reduction process has officially begun. Back seats, spare wheel, rear mud flaps, radio and sub-woofer have all been removed. I have also replaced the heavy electric front seats with some replica Bride seats on NZKW subframes. They seem to be pretty good quality for the most part but I may replace them in the near future with something else if anyone has a strong opinion on the safety of rep seats.. opinions welcome. I will be tracking how much weight I pull out of the car, just need to find something better than a bathroom scale..

Can someone photoshop it pink??? Then it would look just like Peppa Pig, wearing wraparound sunglasses. Regarding the M-Sport kit... Peppa is too young for lipstick, but it might help.

^^^^ Can't imagine so. The lines are all wrong to start with. Adding to - the grilles that are happening on these new models are all disproportionate to the vehicle.

LOL now I can't get that out of my mind. That never crossed my mind, haven't seen a tractor since I went to the field days 10 years ago.

Most importantly, in construction you can see, touch and feel exactly what you've designed and built after you've done it, it's a visceral satisfaction. Not so much in IT.

give me a construction site any day. can't get IT'ed out, and experience rules every time . And smart little shits don't know it all. that said. I do have to keep on top of the health and safety rules

Well, the good news is that your car was definately fitted with the TV function at the factory, and also that it was fitted with the Digital TV module and not the analogue one. However, from the parts system the TV module for Japan / China / Brazil is different to that fitted for other regions / markets. Now whether this is down to different hardware required for different digital TV formats, or just a software difference I can't tell. I can see that replacing the TV module with an NZ part would be an expensive option. My suggestion would be to talk to one of the specialist NZ converters, like Euro Surgeon that have a lot of experience with swapping these things over and they will advise your best course of action. It could be a sodtware change, or possibly new hardware, but at least you have got some of the system from factory which gives you a head start.

From the WTH? department ... full marks for accessorizing ?, but the effort seems a tad misguided. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1676761985 '08 LCI E60 523i that someone has gone to a lot of effort to make it look like an M5 ... "This is a fantastic unit, Leather interior, alarm, Two way hard wired camera, Hard wired radar detector, Great condition, XL wide and long body. one of a kind. Never to be repeated mags. Quad exhaust. cruise control, Electric seats, electric steering wheel adjustment....totally loaded.... "

The M52 has the advantage of being alloy block, so you lose a fair bit of weight over the front axle as well.
