More likely a dead plug. If it doesn't light the fire then it will be wet with fuel.

I use YouShop all the time. Only problems so far have been 2 times that I included oil and grease, which aren't allowed ? There is often a delay between the item arrivng, and when they say its arrived... but the shipping is cheap. I have a 17 inch wheel coming from the US for NZ$89-50 currently... MyUS STARTS at NZ$201!, Fedex etc are totally ridiculous! Even Kiwishipping by SEA was only marginally cheaper, and they've still not replied to my enquiry email from early in the week. Too late now anyway - YouShop has worked out cheaper/faster. The worst part, is US sellers using STUPID big boxes for stuff - YouShop say they don't rebox car parts, but they often do, anyway. I still have the other 3 wheels to order yet... individually, to avoid customs But I'm ordering each one, after the last one leaves the US

Thank you everyone. Well I dont want to single anyone out but for those in doubt, I'd say I have done SO much in the past half a decade it would be hard to make one believe. Since we are questioning reality, here is one out of a dozen highlights of my work and if I did or didn't... Link:- https://www.facebook.com/TequilaPetrol/posts/1865190397077229:0 We will actually be upgrading the team with the GT500 or 2.3L TVS blower later next year. On a personal note If I may, I find it a bit Orwellian esq that some folks are coming after credibility of ones work through using my personal beliefs, grammar, spelling vice versa (for someone who speaks over five languages, I am not concerned) it doesn't take away ones credibility, the work is out there. But lets please be considerate, its really disappointing as I said, I just wished to come by once a while and show case whats been done; I think regardless of our personal differences the BMW enthusiasts in NZ have the right to know and see what the rest of the world already has, so why do we have to argue or prove anything? so far its all been just coming after the personality cult I have, rather than the product, Even those who criticize can appreciate the amount of work that goes into this sort of stuff. I don't want to leave any links to the work directly here out of courtesy, let the work do the talking and for those whos interest It sparks and they know the name, can just put that on google next to blowers or bmws and usually find it all on the top of the page if not somewhere on the first page, Its something that's been constantly evolving and has actually been marketed around the world for years now. So please, if we cant agree on something, lets agree to leave it at just that and enjoy it for what it is. Some may recognize this car from the tracks, Also uses our setup. - there is so much client content that I don't even upload or show just due to wanting better quality of content really over quantity. And that said I will be back with more content including some latest dyno pulls and all that, as you all requested; we were thinking of giving away a few setups actually as we have much coming this year. Wish everyone a great weekend! Regards,

You mean instead of sticking on some crappy chinese ebay parts, and big wheels... making it marginally slower than a normal one

Call licensys. If you have the entitlement to the plates then licensys will remake it for you but keep in mind it may be slightly different styling depending on how old your ones are. It wont say team mcmillan because they are out (auckland city bmw now) and the team mcmillan wording is just a clear vinyl sticker below the BMW logo. (so other dealers like jeff gray etc put their own below the bmw logo). The remake should cost approx $60 iirc. I will have to go through the same process with our plates which got damaged in the crash. keep us posted how you get on.

Yea man.. F. 295 to 365mm R. 300 to 345mm The rears backing plates too small and the shoes sit at 8mm deeper so either a mod or a hub replacement ...?

Thread tidied up to avoid going over old ground. Moderators are well aware of the history here and are keeping an eye out, no need for other posts on the subject. To be fair, the product does now look much more "marketable" than before, so kudos there.

I think this is where 3rd party works in your favour. You still own the car, you can do with it what you want. AA are not a party to the car because they weren't insuring the car (comprehensive) they were insuring the driver (3rd party). Even if you have already made a claim, as long as the loss hasn't been assessed (AA's responsibility) then you can still get the wheels (and any anything else you've added). Their $4000 offer isn't "insurance" and it's not based on the value of your car. It could be a Ferrari on 19's or a Corolla with 15's and they'd still offer $4000. So by swapping anything out whilst ensuring it's still complete you're not ripping anyone off. Once an assessor has valued it you can't touch it so get in quick.

^ not a face lift update, but late 2002 got the MK60 DME. Which allows for Mtrack mode. I wouldn't buy one without that. SMG says N instead of 0.

Hey Nathan The rocker cover came up well, but i wasn't to fussed on the imperfections to be honest, i just scrapped the old paint and water blasted the rest off and gave it a good old lick of rattle can paint. so happy with the finish but it does have heaps of gouges in it. Just had the paint lying around so figured why not. will put pictures up soon

It kind of works in Aussie as they have serious fines, whereas here you get slapped with a wet bus ticket and that culture has stuck. It might work to introduce that here in the long run, but the sector who do not currently comply with the rules arent going to change any time soon. Part of it probably comes with our endless supply of dirt cheap imports, providing cars people cant actually afford at an affordable initial price

My flat bottomed wheel arrived today, looks good! Quality is tops Untitled by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Untitled by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Untitled by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Untitled by Christian Taylor, on Flickr They even included the top button trim piece. This is awesome because I now have a spare: my carbon fiber guy in Bulgaria requires this part sent so this could be on the cards next..!

I went from 8 years of e39 540i ownership to one of these. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1725782897.htm?rsqid=2884b66464604e1e9dd678f094e4ffa7

If it became a rort for two underwriters as you say, a third and fourth would enter the market, increasing competion and lowering prices. That's what this is about, right? Price vs Cost. The Cost to the community of these uninsured asshats is far greater than panel damage. EDIT: and if the true cost of owning a motor car keeps an uninsured asshat off the road, I'm happy to pay more for my insurance!

Hey, Kyu, sorry to learn of the accident. Delighted to hear nobody injured. Great to be able to walk away from a stack.

I went from a 1999 e39 540i touring to my E61 M5 touring, Faster-yes better handling- yes sounds better - up for debate, hard to beat a v8 with a good exhaust (be wary of the newer BMW v8s though) more comfortable - marginally, the e39 is a nice place to be, i do like the newer steering wheel a lot though fuel economy - hahahahahahahahahahahaha running costs - don't spend your whole budget up front, keep at least $5k in your back pocket to fix the first thing that breaks Good luck, there are some serious cars on the market for that sort of money.

Voluntary insurance probably works out better for decent drivers. If you want insurance you get it and if some idiot hits you then you can make a claim. The people who want insurance are sharing the risk among themselves. Making insurance compulsory just introduces all the morons into the pool and this makes it more expensive for everyone else on average. With voluntary insurance, all the accidents where two uninsured morons hit each other, or drive off the road by themselves, don't result in any claims (which helps keep premiums down).

I bet the proportion of the population that do not have any insurance, also struggle with the concept of wof/rego, and will treat "compulsory" insurance the same. I dont disagree with you at all by the way, its the same problem with a bunch of regulation - You end up writing regs for the people that follow them, not the people who just DGAF.

wow. sounds like no control with you shop. with myus, I have my own suite. A street address, telephone number. I have secure access to my suite on-line, get to select what happens to each shipment... wait for others to combine. I get emails (and app notifications) when another item arrives. I get packaging options, freight co options... it's all down to me. total control. I get free photos if they think there's damage; I can pay for photos if I want to inspect regular shipments.

Slightly west of that - I recently had the misfortune to have a large shipment (necessitating an NZ Customs Client Code), sent via USPS... which links with NZ Post here. That’s the weakest link. Hours (not joking) spent on the phone with various NZ Post reps. I don’t object to paying for brokerage; though I do expect something approaching *service* for my money! The crowning glory was, having paid my fees for GST, Brokerage, Insoection etc and the parcel was moving again, trying to arrange a redirect. 30 minutes on the phone with numerous reps, claiming nothing could be done until the parcel reached Highbrook. WTF? I challenged that I had no way of knowing, as the only updates were ‘regional processing’, and local Wellington inconsistent at best. Giving up, I turned to their website and found I could initiate the redirect immediately! Their call Centre staff don’t have a scooby, don’t have the right scripts, and their processes are totally broken. It took nearly a month to get my parcel. I wasn’t concerned about time to deliver, what was unreasonable was the amount of my time that NZ Post consumed. I should invoice them. /rant Contrast that with FedEx (who I usually use for shipments from MyUS.com)... Saturday morning phone call “Hi Mr Olaf, FedEx here, advising we’ve emailed you about a package that’s on its way to you out of the USA. Just call back with your credit card number, pay the import fees, and we’ll have that to you on Tuesday”. I paid Monday morning and arranged for it to be held at depot during the same call. It arrived Monday midday. FedEx don’t even charge for the brokerage! NZ Post are completely broken.

lovely looking (and I'm sure sounding!) car. always amazes me how many convertibles are sold new in the UK, i think they represent the highest proportion of new car sales there c.f. anywhere else in the world.

Fair point, it is my opinion, but i suspect there will be others who share my opinion and won't deal with an aftermarket parts supplier who suggests illegally modifying their vehicle, the comment is on your website right now, and i didn't have to hunt for it. On a more constructive note, you need to stop using textured powder coating on components that need to form air tight seals with hoses and gaskets, it's just not smart, switch to a plain gloss or satin powder on those parts and save the textured finish for other bits.

Remember to buy full cover insurance guys! We only had 3rd party cover with AA insurance. My dads car (whilst driven by my gf with my parents) was hit by a young kid with his 1 month old E90 320i starting his new job and no insurance. My old man in the photo clearly not too happy.. Luckily no one was hurt. Now I gotta see what to do with the car
