15XXXX km, Orient Blue (LOVE the colour), Msport, ZF manual converted with 3.38 diff, Full M3 interior (with inflating side bolsters), drilled rotors , front and rear strut braces and M3 mirrors. I researched getting an E46 for months as I wanted something with an older school feel but still modern enough and reasonably reliable that I could keep for a while. The 330ci seemed perfect, as I've always loved the timeless look and the M54B30 has a great reputation and enough power for our twisty roads. Manual, RWD, NA straight six, great steering and 50/50 weight distribution - can't complain! My goal is to go for an OEM+ build and hopefully end up with one of the nicest Non Ms around. I've spent a lot of time and money getting it to a high standard with OE / OEM parts: Maintenance / Performance Oil and filter / Plugs / Diff and Tranny fluid New intake boots, DISA O ring and MAF clean New waterpump / thermostat / radiator hoses / expansion tank / belts and pulleys Short ram air intake, fully heat shielded and ducted from kidney grilles Valve cover gasket & oil filter housing gasket Vanos seals & Oil line Fuel filter All new tensioners and pulleys Poly steering coupler Supersprint axle back and secondary cat delete CABs / new shock and strut mounts with front reinforcement plates Front and rear tower braces (ARC) E46 M3 front 26mm sway bar / E46 Msport Vert 20mm rear bar, new bushings and adjustable end links (upgrade from 23mm/18mm bars) ST XA Coilovers (Same spec as KW V2) - height and damping adjustable New Lemforder Tierods and boots Remap - throttle response / power (probably not) / subtle burble Fully certed for manual swap, coilovers and all mods (inc driveshaft hoops) Exterior Paintless dent removal Bonnet, side skirts and door respray Stage 2 paint correction and regular waxing M3 mirrors Euro personalised plates - 'NZ E46' ESR SR01 18x8.5 ET30 and Hankook Ventus V12 235/40/18 New headlight lenses / New clear corners / rear LCI boot lights / Dual slat front grille Boot and mirrors resprayed for cosmetic reasons New OEM front bumper colour matched Interior Fully refurbed and re-coloured M3 Nappa leather to BMW Caramel Piano black trims Armrest delete and refinished interior plastics Re-wrapped steering wheel and refinished trim - highly recommended! Billetworkz shift knob (450grams!) and clutch stop, matching handbrake handle Alcantara custom stitch shift and handbrake boots Factory style touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay - looks OEM but with 2021 functionality Front JBL components, Pioneer amplifier and 12" sub Both front Airbag recalls done To do list $$$ IR to RF key conversion Engine mounts? Diff bushings?

I've often thought Dave that shooting from the hip, as you tend to do, displays a certain arrogant ignorance. Your post above removes any doubt.

Good morning to you all. I require some assistance in finding a few parts for my 83 E28 528i, late last year a Subaru decided to kiss the left rear of the BMW at a low but damage causing speed and now that xmas has come and gone its time to fix her up. I require; 1 x left rear door 1 x left rear bottom a-arm 1 x left rear drive shaft (i will need to check what diff it has fitted) If any of you fantastic people are able to help it would be much appreciated.

Try Bavarian motors, on the shore and the owner had / has one of these as a daily. Note, fixing the SLS will be expensive, most people end up swapping it for standard struts and springs.

I got a sheet of this, not genuine alcantara, but close enough: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Ultrasuede-Ambiance-HP-High-Performance-54-Wide-Fabric-by-the-Yard-5709/131393921273 Way more than I ever needed and has been enough to cover my door handles, dash trim piece and other bits and bobs like the gear knob, that black is a good match with the BMW performance alcantara steering wheel trim piece. I then glued it on with 3M super 77, couldn't find any 3M hi-strength 90, but the 77 is doing well. The gearshift boot and handbrake boot I got from https://cobywheel.com/ As for my 135 vs evo, my 135 is so much of a nicer road car, my evo is an RS so is an arse to drive sometimes with no aircon and sound deadening, plus its modified to the point now where it's only happy going fast on some back roads or track days, absolutely brilliant at that, it has a certain basic raw charm to it that my 135 doesn't have nor would I want it to have.

Remember seeing this for sale on Facebook, awesome value - manual, Ohlins, work wheels - looks sharp and bet it drives even better.

Retrimmed my DCT shift knob in alcantara, took a few goes until I was happy. Now matches a few other interior bits and bobs.

Black LED side markers with progressive activation (the LED's light up in order like a flash new car). For some reason I'm not 100% sold but the stock ones that came off were in pretty bad shape so these will stay for a while. Clay bar, cut, polish, and ceramic nano coating ($79) booked in for Wed next week, will be interesting to see how she turns out. Only a few more packages to arrive before I can have a rest... ?

You can buy brackets from someone here in NZ that bolt direct to E30 rails, as those NZKW rails you will have to mount the seat belt buckles to the body as they are not certifiable being bolted to those frames. Also still looks like you need A LOT of caster adjusted on your front suspension, definitely wont pass a cert like that. with a lot smaller Tyre those 66's would have fitted. Looks like you are making great progress but would definitely look into SRS caster Lower control arm bushes

The m3 LTW was a great marketing campaign for the e36 330i poverty spec.
  19. 1 point
No no, did you not read this thread? Its the LTW!
  20. 1 point
Yes, thanks for the reminder... I put a few things in my 130 thread so dig in there also. Delivery was DHL, tracked, txt updates and web tracking, it arrived faster than I expected it to, less than a week. There aren't any instructions but most of it is self-explanatory, disassembling and cutting the dash and routing the wiring to your liking will take the most time. They incorrectly sent me a 2GB unit but my 4GB replacement is expected on Friday. The touch screen is WAY better than I expected it to be, it's bright, clear and responsive, I'm very happy with this aspect, you don't need glare guards even in direct sunlight. Away from the main interface you have all Google Play services so you can log into the store and download apps and offline maps really easily (assuming you have an internet connection, BT or WiFi). You can't load these as a start/home screen though (e.g. boot to Torque) The various audio interfaces are less than ideal; OEM audio + Android music + nav (separate speaker) + BT all gets a bit confused most of the time... now, that could be me but I'm not sure I'm that incompetent. I'm going to try to set it all up again from fresh with the 4GB unit. The real added value for me is widescreen nav at the moment because I don't listen to a lot of music. The music player supports local, AUX, USB and BT and is pretty elegant and can show album art and tags. But the rest? I hardly use. I've added no cameras or extra sensors so can't talk to them. Support was prompt but I ran into a 'policy roadblock' at the 2GB -> 4GB exchange and that took some time (and a brief escalation to PayPal) to sort out. They're exactly the same unit as sold across Alibaba and eBay but with some assurance of support. They do not ship or provide support from the US despite the "USA" in their name. I don't think that's made a difference though. If you want specific other info ask away, happy to try and answer.

Blacked out I always wanted to Shadowline the trim, and replace the rear quarter windows with the better condition ones I had, so after much cleaning, prepping and sanding I had this result

Spare wheel well After 2 hours straight hammering, welding, grinding and swearing the new wheel well was in. A bit of rust proofing, seam sealer and a top coat had the boot floor looking way better.

Recaro's After 3x sets of fishnets which were all stuffed, I picked these up ages back out of an Evo 4 shape GSR. One is mint, the other needs bolster repair. I considered Evo4 SR's but they are usually grey / orange/maroon pattern which I didn't want. In the meantime for mockup I took my Evo1 Recaro office chair apart and used that to figure out things

Lets not forget those prices were at a CHARITY auction at the biggest auction house for cars. BARRETT JACKSON, they were also cars owned by a FAMOUS actor (c grade) so those conditions add up to make for unique circumstances. Lets see those LTWs sell for 200k+ each at a small auction house, not a charity and owned by Joe Blogs.

Front Lip While I had it taking up space, I figured I'd install the front lip. It is a replica, and while I have brand new clips the lip is miles off in places in terms of fitment. I'll need to finesse it a bit more before I'm happy. For now, at least it looks better
