Another little update for the M3. Took the car out for a drive the other night and when giving it the jandal the radiator decide to give up. Not surprising considering it's 25 years old. I was looking for an OEM replacement but my options were limited so I went with a Mishimoto. Pretty good quality but my only gripe with it is that the fitment was a let down. Had to fabricate some aluminium brackets for the oil cooler as there were no mounting points and had to trim bits of plastic here and there on the fan shroud to get clearance around the viscous fan. Happy to have the car back up on its feet, just needs a really good wash. Also managed to replace the drivers seat quick-fold cable which had broken. This ended up being a little bit painful but got there in the end. The other thing which I've done is put the car on some style 24s for a more period correct/original look. Not related to this thread but I picked up an E39 M5 the other day too.. what an incredible car! Bunch of photos below.

So according to Vauxhall’s Wiki page it was sold to PSA in 2017. So it’s still around, just not under GM. Here was me thinking “how did I miss them closing down Vauxhall?!”. I assume they didn’t have manufacturing capacity in Japan, which is dominated by domestic makers so losing the UK leaves pretty much nothing for RHD.

Despite the excessive trolling, this seems to have concluded amicably, with no rage quitting. The internet must be broken.

Just because you disagree with it does not mean the owner is a complete imbecile. My Year 9 English teacher used to warn me against generalisations. Some people are slower to catch on I guess

Sad to see you going Holden. Sorry I'm going to change the tone a little bit. Time for a childhood Holden story... Growing up in Wellington, our family Xmas/New Year holidays were spent at my grandparents house in Whakatane. This is where I have many fond memories of time spent traveling from Whakatane to Torere and back with my Grandad in the late 70's/early 80's in his immaculate light blue EH wagon (Special I think it was). This thing was so pristine you wouldn't even fart in it. And I remember being too scared to eat anything in it as it was that clean and Grandad had that knack of knowing everything that was going on in his car! Granddad would even drive like a grandad, but that made the trip even more memorable. Now Grandad was a tough b#stard from the old school, but man the pride and emotion he had when he drove and spoke about his 'Special' was just awesome! Jump forward 30+ (opps make that 40+) years and I'm glad I decided a couple of years ago to keep my HSV Avalanche, forever! ? Thank you Grandad. Holden - its in the blood!

It wont fit as E39s have a bigger centre bore compared to all other bmws so its not possible to fit them. My opinion is it wont look good anyway, i think E39 body shape benefits from wheels with a dish design not something with a flat face with multiple spokes.

Thats real strong money for a car that doesnt drive, has an undisclosed terminal engine issue, has no wof/reg, and appears to have no suspension...

Some forces do, it’s very varied, fleets are managed county-by-county not centrally. Same in Aus, where some states run BMW 5 Series Sedans and Tourings.

More pics here from when the suspension looked OK... https://www.carjam.co.nz/photos:photos?plate=HAF121&o=0&l=16&pid=0 It is a shame to see it like this - we have two great examples here in Welly.

Interesting, I just got a 100% refund from PayPal for my Avin Android unit... ...and I wonder if that's related to a factory/office shutdown in China (AVIN "USA" is only a legal front for a Chinese company). If so then I almost feel bad for them. They still have a US$350 "security" lodged against my credit card that they required (against my protestations) for the replacement unit and there's another NZ$100 on top that I had to pay for return shipping (they offered me US$50 to compensate for that, I accepted). It will be interesting to see if they follow up with that "security" because that's also through PayPal. So, I think worst case scenario for me is US$414 and best case is NZ$100... I'm happy with either.

Restored the headlights on the X5 yesterday, using a RainX kit... Took a fair while - allow 1-2 hours for doing this Initial polish phase quickly got rid of the yellow oxidised later polish 2 and 3 - certainly improved things but certainly not clear Headlight restorer with microfibre cloth - again improved things, but still not clear despite spending a lot of time on this. Applying the sealant at the end made a significant difference - much happier with the results after doing this Before... After... Well worth it I'd say...

Imo the biggest appeal of the n52 vs N54 is that on the road you can drive the pants off the n52 and have fun, whilst the N54 is generally over powered for the road and not as fun to drive hard.
