Better looking IMO. Steel bumpers. Less bulky plastic looking. Better spoiler. Looks far different than the non M models. Does the Tech 2 come with Houndstooth interior? If not then that too.

@Sammo has had some experience with those guys from memory? I don't think it was a very positive one but maybe chat with him

Here's my 535IS, had this for almost two months now. Probably the nicest car I've owned so far and am very happy with it! It's got 340 000 km on the clock but it seems to be very well maintained, so far I've only had to fix a couple of small things. It feels very tight (as tight as a 31 year old heavy sedan can be anyway), it seems like a lot of the suspension has been recently replaced. Someone once loved this car very much and I am hoping to continue that love. Currently I am very happy with realOEM and the countless genuine parts websites online that are almost better priced than used parts anyway. I have already bought a new sunroof mechanism cover panel and a new bit of bumper trim that was missing for some really good prices. Right now I am still working on: Trying to figure out what is causing the slight miss at low rpm and under load The headlight washer system (no clue what is holding this back) Any help or tips would be appreciated. Also any tips on fuel economy or is it just always bad?

This is from one of my local BMW dealers in the US. They completed the recalls on my E46 while I was there. Awesome service. Treated me like a future sale. Unlike NZ where you may as well be spat on if you turn up in your E87. The dealerships are fighting for customers over there though. There were two major dealerships only about an hour from each other. A message from BMW of Silver Spring. I've used Gull 98 for the past 3+ years of owning my n54, no issues other than needing to upgrade the LPFP as the stock one was giving out and could not flow enough, but thats not e10 related.

Run Force 10 in all our cars. The 200sx was just tuned on it today. However I don't recommend leaving it in your car for 5 years while you live in another country. Issues occur.

I had my Supersprint Muffler installed there and a secondary decat done - no issue with the quality of work and end result, (very happy) but was impossible to pin them down on a quote and shock horror, the cost blew out with lots of calls mid-job about difficulties etc etc. Maybe I wasn't, but kind of felt like I got taken for a ride. No Eftpos either. I used them as they were 5 minutes from the office - YMMV

Yeah, was just about to get in touch with the owner. Seems like a proper project!

    @Ghost Chip Seen this one? Looks like a bit of a project but a cool colour, can come with either dove grey or black seats and has an option to come with a complete ZF manual conversion... https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/480653246389701/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks&tracking={"qid"%3A"6955732337357878778"%2C"mf_story_key"%3A"527585097353045659"%2C"commerce_rank_obj"%3A"{\"target_id\"%3A527585097353045659%2C\"target_type\"%3A6%2C\"primary_position\"%3A0%2C\"ranking_signature\"%3A8470670935102324736%2C\"commerce_channel\"%3A501%2C\"value\"%3A0%2C\"upsell_type\"%3A21%2C\"grouping_info\"%3Anull}"}

Ethanol has about 30% less energy than gasoline per unit volume. So when you start mixing ethanol with gasoline you need to increase the volume of the mix burned per unit of time to produce the same energy as you produced with straight gasoline. This means that e10 will have about 3% less energy per litre than gasoline requiring the fuel system to flow about 3% more volume to produce the same power. The recommended max ethanol mix for the stock n54 fuel system is e40 and will require about 14% more more flow, which is where the LPFP runs out of pressure/capacity. Gross over-simplification but you get the idea. To run e85 it is actually necessary to flow approx 35% more fuel as high percentage ethanol mixes have to run richer than gasoline due to ethanol having a lower stoich. The performance benefits of e85 are considerable, especially for boosted engines. If was building a racecar it would either be on e85 of straight ethanol Below is the list of cars specified by BMW as requiring 98RON minimum. Cheers...

Yeah that's my old one. Actually my photos. It has resold a few times since then I think. Last time for closer to $20K maybe a year or two ago.

Not a bad idea to sell both for one to do them all. 335i wagon ultimate driving machine? Far from it.. ask @KwS 🤣 you need to get an e87 130i for the full experience (for cheap)

@Driftit was this your one? I remember pondering this when I first started looking. Think they were asking 10k

I'm not sure about that Jon. My Series car which was a 320i Auto 4 door also had the Mtech 1 kit. And a friend had a 4 door 1990 320i with the Mtech2 kit. Was Auto too.

Ah if the tune is done with 98 in mind, then yes definitely stick with 98 otherwise there might be some knock which is not great for the engine I think due to the fact ethanol burns up faster, the cars fuel system does need to work a bit harder to pump more fuel and that is probably increased further by the tune. Probably just means some consumables might wear out a little earlier than they otherwise would have, doubt it'll cause anything disastrous. At lease you don't have the HPFP of the turbo models which is a bigger headache (and bill) when it has issues. When I was using MHD flash tunes on my 335i there would be various maps to choose from based on the octane you wanted to run. I know it's the same with my M4 (though I have yet to tune it, and don't plan to)

Msport is def nicer but the 4pot engine is just a disaster waiting to happen

Nice one. I look forward to pulling my 535is out of storage towards the end of the year. Have you checked the basics for the misfire? These motors are pretty simple. Start with the ignition system. Check the plugs, leads, coil and cap. Number one source of misfires. Check for cracks in the intake pipes after the Airflow meter. Make sure all vacuum hoses are connected and not cracked or split. Then check the Air Flow meter itself. It's an old trapdoor design. You may need to youtube/google on how to check them over. Be very careful not to change anything in them without instruction. Also don't get sucked into the expensive Iridium spark plugs. Get some standard copper ones. They are dirt cheap and last around 30,000kms. The plugs are so easy to change on a M30. I was buying them in bulk boxes and changing them for every race meet.

The best version. To think you could have purchased my one for $10K in 2016? I really wish I still had it. Not because it was a great car. But so i could sell it and buy something much nicer.

Fitted new Lemforder Tierod's last weekend and got a fresh Alignment at RaceAlign on Monday. With Suspension now pretty sorted, decided to put in some 98, inflate the side bolsters up and give her a good, sustained spanking. Went for a blast out to the Manakau Heads Lighthouse which (after the hideous Southern Motorway traffic) was fantastic - brilliant views, no traffic and some pretty fun (if a little sketchy) roads. Car was great - really happy with it - didn't miss a beat, flat and direct, but compliant, heaps of feedback and with the 3.38 diff, plenty of power for me on these types of roads. A bit much tramlining for my liking, but a lot of that would have been the nature of the crappy roads. Only bummer was the speeding ticket and 20 demerits doing 98 in what I had assumed was a 100kph zone in Drury. Oh well, could have been worse 😜

Thanks - huge amount of work refurbishing them! Its an Aliexpress Android unit, but I'm running wireless carplay on it via a hidden USB dongle.

Owell yet again I have been slacking on the updates Motors in, having a couple of wiring issues which will hopefully get sorted. So far the starter motor isn't working at all so need to see what's going on there Rolled it out for a photo. The front wheel is slightly turned hence the slightly off center position, plus needs an alignment aswell. Rear wheels aren't here to stay Picked up another set of wheels this week for it. 16x7.5 style 15s, will be good for the almost factory bottle cap look

Tbh we should just keep it because it drives nice and its a great allround car but wouldnt mind upgrading it to an F11 if the car we want doesnt sell

Just haven't got round to installing one yet! Had to wait 6 weeks for brackets through the dealer and then the bushes I had didn't fit them - by then I was out of time. Some more photos from @adro - backing up his hotlaps with pool photography duties.
