Driven a few km’s with the new steering wheel and I love it! That extra squish really makes for a comfortable drive, and I do love those little pads for your thumbs. I got another scanner for PA Soft and it’s working nicely. Finally I have been able to change the remote unlocking to flash the lights (it was only flashing lights for locking). Tried to do the temp re-calibration but couldn’t find the line of hex I’m looking for so will save that for another day.

Went and got a wheel alignment, got asked if I knew @Matt, they tell our cars apart by the brake caliper colours

Finally got round to sorting out the scrape on the bumper air-duct on my E34 540i. Gave it a quick sand with 150 grit paper, then 280 grit and then 400 grit. I then used some gloss black pasti-dip that I had lying around and it honestly came out way better than I expected. Here is a before and after. Before: During: After:

Pretty reasonable pricing I feel. Looking at £2000 for some Alpinas and at $600+ for an unfurbished steering wheel, $850 for one ready to go, it's probably worth it

Finally completed my little benchtop power supply project !! Will be using this to power the spare gauge cluster I'm using for Arduino development. Its based on a spare ATX PC power supply I had ... a pretty useful up-cycling project !!

Your 2000 Z3 is all OBD2 so is easy to diagnose. Like wise the 116i. Maybe you should look at setting up your own diagnostic kit. There are cheap and expensive options, depending on what you want to do: INPA software (free) on a windows laptop with the cheap special USB cable and an OBD2 to 20 pin lead for the Z3. Reads all modules and lets you code new modules to your car. sure come see me some time , call before common wear item is the rear wheel bearings in the Z3 , big loads on them due to wheel/hub offsets

99% sure there were no changes to the wheel base or steel work for the F20 LCI, it was more re-designed bumpers and lights front and rear - plus a few modifications to the interior and under the skin. Skirt should fit, worse case there might be some minor tweaking of the attachments to make it work. I guess the donor car is too far away for you to view with your current skirt to compare the two?
