Hadn't planned on it, but bought one today, will pick up next week. Spent a little over budget but it was by far the nicest we saw, condition and driving wise, and kind of spoke to us much more than the others. Looked at a few that were a bit cheaper with higher kms but they felt it. Little clean car rebate won't hurt either. Mainly I am stoked I convinced the wife into a white one (BMW wagon to boot!), she is a black car nut and I'm not a fan of trying to care for them. 2014, 75km but looks and feels much lower km - immaculate inside and out, M Performance front splitter + 19" wheels (guessing replicas of a late model ///M wheel??? with new cheap tyres but fitment is great). Autosure extreme warranty, hopefully won't need it. Will be putting on a Euro plate / Black Grille / Carplay and see how we go. A great partner for the M325i.

While I like the M5 and have driven a couple of them but I wouldn't pay65k for one, and think the seller is probably trying to make a big profit on purchase price since he's only owned it for approx 3 months, or he's found it needs some maintenance that he doesn't want to pay for. Perhaps the E60 M5's are the bargains at present, there are a few of them around the 20k mark for sale........but will they increase in price like the E39 has

I guess if there’s a positive, the police have a place to start with the change of ownership, you have to use an actual licence to change. Whether or not they do anything is another matter.

Wow. Steal it and change the papers. “Nah, it’s mine.” WTF. Will keep an eye out for it.

When you check the fuel pressure in INPA does it hold or drop off once primed ? Some good reading for the diagnostic walkthrough https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/e90-n52-crank-but-no-start-issue.1402751/ Good luck.

Even if it wasn't towed there are numerous other ways. Lucky in the this country most the bros who steal vehicles are too dumb Ive always found if one of the parties doesn't file then it takes weeks to get processed. Its a flawed system but if your car is stolen you going report it within 24hrs which im sure flags it and halts the process or something.

Tools. The price of them, in NZ. Take hose clamp tools. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/building-renovation/tools/hand-tools/pliers/listing/3546065846, for example. I'm buying an identical set from Germany. EUR37 + shipping. Less than NZ $100 all-up.

And it starts! Although hesitant. Turned it off and starts fine now. Unsure as to what would have cause it but I want to nail it before the family gets stuck somewhere. I'll have a look a what relays fire the pump and see if they may have been getting sticky after sitting for 1 week. Or perhaps a tired fuel pump? Thanks heaps @Twistee, I was running pretty low on patience at the time. Also a HUGE thanks to @M3AN for taking the time to show me how to use INPA the other day. Long live the forums. 20220409_212121.mp4

Car has actually been running like a top since it had it had all its deferred maintenance done and will be replaced by a nice F31 320d Msport next week. Will need to tidy it up and get on the market.

Thanks heaps for that @Twistee! This is exactly what I'm after. I'll start working through it.

Heard back from VTNZ today. NZTA have corrected the VIN number in their system. Now certification has been passed it’s time to go get a WOF. Not sure I should have had to pay the $100 re-vin charge in the end but not going to debate it now I have the desired result. Happy days.

then they take your advice seriously and get you into a hearing that you're then essentially obliged to attend, as no-shows don't fare well. I prefer the Keep It Simple, Stupid approach, and don't rely on not having your bluff called. Your mileage may vary, you may have a higher threshold for stupid. Me, I learned you can't argue with stupid, so why bother.

You have time to waste? Why invite someone to waste your time.

The buyer has changed his mind so the car is still for sale if anyone is keen before I list her on TradeMe?

Anyone else had the same opportunity to but it at that price.

Hi everyone, I'm writing this topic with sadness and anger at the same time. Just shocked but hoping that putting this out here would be more eyes and ears in seeing my car. Car was parked at Wilson Carpark in Parnell under the cctv camera. Hopefully the police can get the cctv footage and these pricks are found. I didn't know these cars could be stolen without the key, especially that it's an SMG as well. I'm hoping if anyone sees it can let me know. Photos attached. Rang the police and apparently whoever has stolen it has already put in the paperwork to change ownership (i didn't know this was possible). Tried to call NZTA but they are not online till Monday, neither is my insurance company.... wow! Anyway if anyone sees it - likely with different plates now, but it's got black mags and tints. Has a brand new rear bumper and slight dent to rear spoiler and front bumper has curbing damage to both front splitter areas. You help would be appreciated.
