Hi all, I’m not a BMW owner myself, but my Dad is a long time owner and he is into his second BMW (first one was 525i the 1987 to 94 series, second and current is 320d), while my brother and sis-in-law own one X series SAV, and I like to consider buying one as my next car at some point. nice to meet you all, I look forward to learn more in depth about BMW!

Hundred percent Olaf, I can vouch for this approach this is exactly what I did for my E39 drives like new, handles like new and it’s all OEM spec.

Hey Team Long time no post, Still waiting on the two engineers to get the v12 motor and the n62 sump sorted so in the mean time I thought I would share as this is also e46 related. Picked up this pretty clean 2004 330ci earlier this year. Over the past couple weekends i have done the 420g manual swap which is a converted smg box from Kayne Barrie and finished tacking up the custom headers. Still to go subframe plates, install coil overs and adjustable lower control arms, rest of the exhaust, pedal box and few other small little things. Hopefully the other project stuff will be ready by the time I've finished with this car. So glad i had a spare motor to build these headers out of the car. It also took me a solid 4hrs to cut 2x ice cream containers worth of pie cuts and deburr them too. I also swapped the Hamann wheels for some BBS rk to go one the 4.6 v8 sedan and finally pulled out my ACS wheels that will be for the M3. Both sets will be powder coated at some point. Thanks Team

I haven’t been on here for a long time as you can see… but appreciate it. would love to see the collection for sure and yes, it’s been a struggle getting to where I’m at now with the 3 series m collection… see photo :) As it stands now… I’m only after one more…. oh and re your suspension refresh, can't go wrong with Lemforder. Shocks and Springs, there's a whole 'nother wormhole. Why not just go with Sachs OE Msport, and the existing Msport springs if they're still good? With everything else sorted (you're being thorough on bushes, rods, arms etc) it'll ride and handle like new, and certainly nothing at all like most of the flogged-out e36s around (particularly those that have had just shocks, or just shocks and springs, and maybe a peppering of poly bushing because still baggy...) I'll get me coat then!

The 997 is the Goldilocks of the modern 911’s and is such an epic car to drive especially in rear wheel drive. I found using it daily so easy to live with. Loving it in red. The 991 became that bit bigger and styling a little bloated.

God I hate my Apple TV. The hardware and OS is generally good, but its limited by the apps which are kinda half cooked. Cant wait to replace my tv and bin the apple shite.

probably depends on the colour but a little jiff on a damp cloth gently rubbed, the good thing about the low sheen is you can just run a roller of fresh paint over the mark once its off and it will blend right in and you won't see the touchup at all, I always keep some spare paint for knocks and repairs

Took the car to Hamptons downs for the monthly meet up, and took it out on the track cruise, was great to be able to test it out and see the difference all the work/parts have made, car felt so much more solid and planted under load, much more grip with The LSD especially on corner exit. Bc golds were surprisingly good on the track with only a bit of roll on some very hard cornering. Car felt very balanced, tended to understeer every so slightly when pushed to the limit of grip, but could have easily been corrected with a bit more throttle, or some better front tires, current ones are pretty average. Also got the BOV setup properly sorted, turbosmart raceport GenV blow off valve with a custom n55 charge pipe with the turbosmart flange welded on, running orange and purple spring in parallel, softest spring setup that keeps the BOV shut on idle. Vacuum reference is from a 6mm vacuum line connected to an intake manifold MAP sensor spacer, and blocked off the original diverter valve vacuum line. Car has been running great, didn't overheat on track, and drove more than 300km all over auckland/down to Hamptons, some Piha backroads without a single issue. Just needs a wheel alignment and possibly a slightly stiffer front sway bar in the future.

Eschewed the tradein and just paid cash for the car. Loaded with tech and no printed owner's manual, only a 200 page PDF availabe online. So far only a couple of short drives as we come to terms with all the beeps it issues, display options etc. But enjoyable so far and with 0-100kmh in 7.2 s probably would give my 540i a run for its money.

Definitely recommend FCP for suspension components. Their customer service is outstanding and freight times are pretty good at present. E39 feels like new after a refresh.

163,217 kms. Long-time no post! I’m still loving the little E36. It has been so good to me and puts a smile on my face every time I thrash drive it. Living in Kelburn and working / studying in the CBD means that I rarely have a reason to take it out of the garage (except for the weekly grocery shop), but I often find myself driving it just for the sake of it. Updates since last time Replaced the original perished windscreen cowl / cracked windscreen / old wiper blades Before After Replaced broken fog light bracket (absolute pain to change!) and fog light bulbs Dent Magician removed a couple minor door dings (ding free now) Brake upgrade – installed E46 330i front brakes and 328i rear brakes / new brake pads / new rotors / rebuilt calipers / fresh brake fluid Basic maintenance (Oil changes, filters etc) Couple WOFs, including the obligatory “she’s pretty tidy” as the inspector hands back my keys Fixed squeaky seat and steering wheel Replaced rubber gaskets around both rear quarter windows. [Until I screwed up the driver's side when I was reinstalling the window – I over-tightened the b-pillar bolt and snapped it in half. Unfortunately, the window is designed so that the bolt is glued to the glass. I think the best step forward is to find a replacement rear quarter glass. Any ideas?] Regular cleaning, finishing with Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection Multiple road trips, from Waihau Bay over the summer break to a recent trip with the BMW Club to Castlepoint, without any issues. Not quite a 991, only a 997.2 Carrera S. Is a 6 speed manual and the last generation with hydraulic steering though and it is also unfortunately not mine It's my mother's former daily driver, now a weekend toy as she daily drives a Smart Fortwo! The neighbour's roll their eyes with the plethora of unique and strange vehicles that frequent the house 🤣

Not mine but a customer of mine will be selling this nice one tidy and with a few nice tasteful upgrades etc probably in the 20k plus price range

Familiar with this car, it is in Concours condition. It is simply superb!

Do you have anything solid to back up your claim E34 535iS are grossly over priced? Say, prices of previous sales, sale or asking prices compared to other models in the BMW line up of the era, or alternative models to the 535iS? And sorry, but the 535i shits all over any 525i, M20 or M50.
