Selling my E36 M3 convertible here: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m3/listing/4567953092 Possibly one of only two painted in Eisblau (ice blue) in the world. Not for the shy or retiring amongst you though! The colour pops in the sunlight. We often come back to notes left on the car saying how they love the colour. And it's priced as the cheapest M3 of any model.

The seats themselves are ace - so much better than flogged E30 leather comfort seats which look like they belong in the 60's, but why oh why did they go with red when there's a million and one wrecked E90's with black seats about. ESPECIALLY when the rear seat has been re-trimmed as well! And the rest of the interior is blue! Was the owner a big fan of Superman?

Thanks! I'm wondering whether to keep it actually...

I do love me an F31 - that one is quite an early build with the small iDrive wheel...other things missing that come on the newer NZ new cars are the park assist (maybe only on the LCI cars) and speed limit info. You'll struggle to find a 335d as well specced as that (normally poverty pack UK lease cars, a bunch didn't even have LED headlights). Personally I found the 30d 'felt' faster when test driving, i think because of the big torque slug as the single turbo came on boost, the 35d is much more progressive. 30d a bit less thirsty as well. Be worth getting them to screenshot the idrive service history - not infallible but I'd feel happier with a car that's stayed in the dealer network for a while (and ideally not had 30k km between oil changes)

Went for a short drive down some nice twisty back-roads and ticked over 440,000km's.

Roland actually has a complete 6 speed kit. You might be able to swap the rear half of your auto driveshaft onto this and you're good to go. I'd go this route personally. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/7438401319514971/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A4aec2e64-4072-4f26-b9f5-e2f331e6f959

Got the new coilovers today 😍, usual story of bumbling around at FedEx East Tamaki for longer than they took to get here from Australia. Super impressed with the packaging, look and quality of everything I've seen so far !! Will be a few weeks at least until I can get them installed. Likely will do an oil change at the same time and try some 5w40 (which i see is on special at the moment) to get a few more psi of oil pressure at idle.

"Condition: Unrestored, close to factory delivery condition". Didnt know they came from the factory with wear on seats, shift boot, gear knob and the rest that cant be seen.

Great display from BMW Car Club Northland at the Waipu Car Show today. That E39 B10 and E28 M6 were so perfect! Out of approx 1000 cars, Euros were well in the minority. Love looking at that American muscle car stuff, but not sure I’d want to own one. Might give the old 540I a wash and enter it next year, just for show parking🤣

The hotter the engine runs, the more power it makes (to a point!) for the amount of fuel going in. The hotter the engine is, the less heat energy it can absorb from the combustion... so it helps economy by a tiny amount, and reduces emissions by a tiny amount. I changed our E39 525i (M54) to a fixed temp stat and did away with the Map-cooling. E39's didn't bring up a check engine light for no map-cooling, but did have a fault code (Which was dumb, because when the thermostat heater burnt out, they just ran really hot ALL the time!). The 6's didn't run *that* hot on the mechanical only anyway (98?), like the V8's did (108?). I didn't notice anything dramatic change as far as economy, but you want to make sure the new stat stays 100% closed until the engine is at operating temps, or it'll take longer to heat up and use way more fuel during the cold start enrichment phase. My first kit had a bleed hole drilled in the thermostat and it was stupid and unnecessary. I replaced it with a solid one and it was way better. Later cars may be a bit more complicated, but that unit looks like it still has a map-cooling heater anyway?

Terrible photo sorry as carpark lights are in holiday mode - a work colleague has a Tech 1 M325i. @hybrid Josh - think it may be next off the production line after yours?!

Probably the spot of the year for me, an early 2wd Sapphire Cossie... But completely stock standard and unmolested with all the patina you'd expect (including the bird sh*t on the bonnet, and random detritus on the recaros). Stunning.
