Offering up my 1996 NZ New E36 M3 3.2 Evolution. As much as I love this car, I’m finding I don’t get to use it as much as I’d like ( 2 doors don’t work with young kids). Looking to move to an E90 M3 instead. details: •NZ new •166,000kms •Factory 6 speed manual •Non-sunroof •Aluminium doors •Black leather interior •Near new Bilstein suspension •Plenty of service history Best description of the condition of the car is that it’s a true survivor. It has a few stone chips but not one dent or clear coat fade. It presents very well and would be hard to find another in this condition. Please get in touch if you’d like to view. Car is in Central Auckland. 021 657 522 Thanks, Brad

Not mine. But sorted a clients e30 out properly. Did the rear output shaft seal, selector shaft seal, transmission guibo, rebuilt the shifter with new bushings and pivot cup, did the control arms and control arm bushings in the front, inner rack ends and tie rod ends, rocker cover gasket and set the valve clearances. Today was a good day. Also got the black one in the picture in for a m20b25 swap and manual conversion. Currently is a m20b20 with a knocking big end bearing. Pictures posted with clients consent. Love my clients

This seams reasonable considering prices of other listings, if it’s really as good as the photographs.

The seats themselves are ace - so much better than flogged E30 leather comfort seats which look like they belong in the 60's, but why oh why did they go with red when there's a million and one wrecked E90's with black seats about. ESPECIALLY when the rear seat has been re-trimmed as well! And the rest of the interior is blue! Was the owner a big fan of Superman?

Six months of trouble free daily driving. Grabbed a coffee with @nath and his B3 yesterday. Only Alpina I’ve seen in NZ since leaving the UK almost ten years ago, worth the wait.

As some of you know I have purchased @Andrewold cabby. I am completely inlove with it. I have the vert tech 1 skirts and rear boot spoiler to complete it but I have spent the last couple of days doing some maintenance as it has been in storage. Changed the timing belt, waterpump, thermostat, engine oil,oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, set the valve clearances and gave it a much needed tune up. Putting in a 3.73 lsd diff and new control arms, inner rack ends, tie rod ends and rear control arm bushings in tomorrow. I plan to paint it very soon and put my 3 piece 16 inch wheels on it. Here are some pics, absolutely in love. Will also be putting the factory tech 1 wheel in it and selling the immaculate tech 2 steering wheel.

^^ Yeah I thought that was a great looking car - the 'IS / SE' kit really is subtle and beautiful

Okay so got some rims off a mate for free. They were sitting in his garage and had the correct specs for the f30. Fronts are 20x8.5 et 35 and rears are 20x9.5 et40. Put them on yesterday and gave it a massive detail with Luxxio cleaning and detailing products. They are a local business here in Wairau Valley, North Shore and I decided to give their products a whirl. My lord! I am beyond impressed. I used their car wash and their speedy shine formula as well as Formula X wheel cleaner. The pictures speak for themselves. The car is cleaner and has a more deep shine than it ever did. Not to mention the speed shine stuff is very hydrophobic. I was getting water beading off the car effortlessly. Let me know everyone's thoughts. I love this car so much but she was getting jealous as all my affection was directed at the e30 since I got it. About time I gave it some love. Also if anyone is interested in the Luxxio products, here is a link. I was a loyal Meguirs man before today but I am totally converted. I love supporting local businesses. https://luxxio.co.nz/shop/

Got WOF (no advisories) and paid rego for another year. Always amazes me how the tire tread fluctuates upwards between WOF's (or maybe VTNZ have less of a vested interest in selling me new tires than the dealer)

Finally got the m3 into the garage to replace the leaking diff pinion seal. Got all the. It’s out the way, old seal out, and to find the one that was listed as the correct part isn’t. So onto realoem for the right part number and rang bmw this morning to order one through them, and should be here tomorrow to get that job finished up. while I was there, discovered the rest diff mount top brace has cracked, and maybe the weld around the base of the mount. So will get that fizzed up asap

Went for a short drive down some nice twisty back-roads and ticked over 440,000km's.

Tidied the garage and got stuck into some polishing... ...I own near $3K worth of DA and rotary polishers from Rupes and De Walt which are some 1700km away from me, and boy are my arms tired! An "acceptable" mirror shine by hand with a single hand pad and bottle of cutting compound, but it just shows how rooted the clear coat is. I'm dearly missing my proper gear. There's so much CMA thrown over the roads down here over winter, and I daily drive it in snow with snow socks that I shouldn't get too worked up about it.

I know what you mean @Goose, I think we all have cars we regret selling. I would have kept most of the cars I've had if I had the space and didn't need to sell one to buy another. They are great cars, and that's a nice looking E24.

Reading this makes me kick myself for selling my e36 328 manual, such great cars! That was ten years ago, around the bottom of the market (around 5,5k🤬) Great to see tidy and well loved examples getting used, and that B3🤤! Super stoked with the current e39 540, but still have a major soft spot for an e36 coupe, one day…….

Fitted a new set of wheels and tyres to replace the factory Style 66's on the 540i BBS LM (rep's) in 19x9.5 with Maxxis VS5 tyres. Might need to look at some slightly lower springs now. Wanted genuine BBS LM's but they would have almost doubled the value of the car! Crap photos as everything jammed in shed currently.

Hopefully can make some good power now and not have 120+ intake temps!

In other news! Sold the 335i, bought a momo wheel, hub adapter and a set of xyz’s coil overs for the compact, so spent a couple days fitting all that up, pumping the rear guards to fit the 17x9.5 arc-8’s, as well as getting the intercooler system plumbed up and working

Take a nice NZ new N47 powered 120d and repower with M57D30TU. Swirl flap delete along with DPF and EGR delete, Tune should be good for 700NM.

Saved the planet, one km at a time for approx 900kms, and sneered at all the farmers in their dirty diesel utes spewing smoke.

Musings from the first month, I like this car. A lot of time for the wing mirrors! The E30 and E46 has always had my attention but the E36 is growing on me. Generally speaking, I’ve never owned a convertible or planned to own one but I think the E36 lends itself better to the body style imo. Clocked someone in another E36 waving on the drive through Kumeū if you’re on here, car looked well.

I’ll send you a direct message with my contact number. Would love to come check out the car sometime and let you know what I think.

Sounds good Elias. I'm going to the UK and maybe Sweden and Germany next month so not sure if I'll get to it before then but will flick you a message when I have!

Nice buy! I’m based on the shore and have seen that car around a few times in various places. Definitely a well kept original example, plate is very distinctive. I have a big box of cleaning / polishing products + a Dewalt polisher you can borrow if you need to start your detailing journey on the car. If I were you I’d aim to polish the car (depending on how swirly / oxidised the paint is you may want to do a light cut too), then ceramic coat the car + do some protecting work to the soft top. Interior, if it’s leather I would recommend moisturising it. With the top down it would be way more exposed to UV so I’m guessing it could be dry/cracked in places. Also get a wool wash mit, sponges are for wheels only!! I did a detail on my 540i a couple years ago, it’s due a light buff and re-ceramic coat soon, but came out pretty well for original paint that had travelled ~370,000km… much easier to keep the car looking nice once the paint is properly protected.
