Haha I wish! That would be a very nice setup if done well. I've seen a few examples from overseas and man do they go

Replaced nasty old rusty wheel bolts with nice shiny new titanium wheel bolts, must be good for at least a second off my 1/4 mile time!!

Works ok for new owners that can drive their cars home in Europe, unfortunately works against anyone that has to ship their car home, I.e. NZ

Is your current one 3.15? If so, should be a nice upgrade.

It’s getting a few bits added on arrival so I’m determined not to see it until the day I pick it up. Like an old fashioned wedding. Didn’t even know this was a thing til I just googled it! Might have to consider it next time ?

Popped up in a casual conversation on the web, had to jump on it immediately. Comes from a proper enthusiast from across the ditch... half of what it would have cost me here and near new... ?

And with respect to all e92 M3 owners... the e46 is far more fun... it might even be "better"... I expect the e9x prices to continue to drop where e46's will hold. I do think Gareth has a point too... are many people getting $35k+ for their 15 year old M3's? It also makes a mockery of the e36 M3's advertised for $30k+ - our world is full of dreamers. But anything desirable with not much more than delivery km's will go for huge sums - their target market is completely distinct from your normal buyer and those prices are not a good indicator of "normal" offerings.

Update - car's been made, VIN number is accessible and the car is on the boat. I'm the worst person in the world at waiting patiently

what we should do is I drive down to wellington, sell Pete my M135 and buy Koda's 130 and drive it back up. win-win-win situation

Friday it was decided that the time had come for the long awaited heart transplant. So we began stripping the 2.8 out of the ute and marking all the bits and bobs. I then began striping the 4.4 and marking it's bits and bobs for match up to the ute. Was easiest to drop the entire subframe from both cars as to just swap them over ? the plan for this week is to get the M62 stripped, cleaned and rebuilt, as well as giving the utes engine bay a good clean and tidy up.

Great result! Can't recommend Jon enough

I absolutely recommend Jon for anything e39 (and many other models to be honest). He was able to sort so many little issues with my old M5 when others just didn’t have the experience or want to diagnose. Glad you got rid of the shimmy!

216849 km Has been in with Jon at Auto38. New TRW center drag link (ebay UK) $600 landed incl customs. New Febi idler arm bushing $74.75 Car feels significantly better....shimmy at 80km/h is CURED as is the shimmy under braking. Car feels so much more responsive and the steering feels tight, best it's ever felt under my ownership. I still have a click going on but I can live with that with the shimmy gone. Finally a mechanic who is enthusiastic about their workmanship and knows the car inside out. Jon diagnosed 5mm play in the idler arm and also found the clicking to be coming from the boots on the draglink. A way more precise diagnoses than the previous crowd I took it too.

The thing is though, the Working Group never wanted a CGT- until they were told to go away and think again. Political interference is at play here. The 3 most (only??) clued up members of that group were and remain dead set against any CGT.

So after shopping and looking for a set of rear coil overs that would fit, I was about to pull the trigger on getting the lads at PitStop Penrose to get a custom set made up. The cost would have been an additional $750, however, as luck would have it, my brother purchases a new set of BC coilovers last year, off Facebook, believing it was for a Honda Accord, but were for something else and did not fit. I decided to have a look at the rears of his set and BOOM, they were a perfect fit for the ute. Almost like they were made for the E39 Touring. So we mounted his shock to my housings and it fits like glove. Our own DIY Custom Standard VS 'Custom'

Hope it goes to another caring owner. It was a great car, and a real shame i couldnt buy it back. Already have three cars ? GL Mark. Despite the KM its a solid, reliable example. Made really good power on a dyno run when I had it. Has a MASSIVE folder of previous receipts.
