The bulb holder is directly behind the bulb you have indicated in your picture. If it's hard, take it to a service center -

It is an inspection item only if one is fitted... the inspection is to make sure it is secure and doesn't become a missile in an accident. It is not required for the WOF.

It's probably best it's not driven down Ron. The car dealer in ChCh has to sort out a height issue. The owner had to fly home when it broke down in Auckland with axle issues (Audi A4) which we had to import.

I've got enough pre Christmas problem jobs ATM. The OP has probably introduced more faults now with the path he has followed. My thoughts would be along the lines of water in the DME being a E36 with all the parts the OP has already changed with no result and the reoccurring speed sensor faults. Fuel related issues would be throwing O2 sensor and fuel trim issues -
160kph with the traction control light on would be more fun.... or is it a fault

I heard a rumour that there are a lot of pullers on some other Euro Forums that may be able to help you selecting a very reliable frequent puller -
Don't forget to space the speed sensors in the carrier or you'll root the sensors & or the axles
