I've just highlighted where you have gone wrong. Talk to anyone who has done the work or better yet give it a go yourself and you'll quickly find it's not as simple as you say. Blasting depends on how bad the build is, have seen some shockers which take over an hour just to clean them out properly. If you do find that you can do it under an hour without breaking stuff and thoroughly, then I'll give you my bosses phone number for a job

https://www.turners.co.nz/Damaged-Vehicles/Damaged-Cars-for-Sale/bmw/x5/17444784 Interestingly it had been repaired but then had the repair certification revoked. Didn't know they could do that but there you go

You make it sound so simple! On a 335, it's at least 5 hours labour plus gaskets and walnuts. Even at $100 an hour you're well on your way unless you are paying some backyard mechanic $20 And a box of do-bros

Problem with that is that to buy the tools is often a very expensive exercise. Then they end up getting damaged by people who may not not know what how to use them There's a tools for hire thread in the for sale section with what people have and are willing to lend out

That rear wing has to go!

Clean them and swap with the inlet. If it comes back then you know if it's a solenoid or worse
-
Had this on my watching for a while now and slowly come down, I think they would even take 6.5k based on previous auctions. The rego looks familiar to me but can't look it up anymore to see what has been done to it

Alot places prefer to have new tyres on rather than worn out. Can't is probably the wrong word but better to have new tyres on when setting up the alignment
-
Typically you put it on and leave it on for the winter months, then come summer take it off and leave it in the garage on a hardtop stand

Very nice, I'm sure you'll have a queue of people lining up for the hardtop

Yep, plenty of BMW rentals around Avis have X5s, Aerodrive have a number of 3 and 4 series. And I'm sure there are other companies do them
-
Works fine for me when I click on it
-
Even if that is the case, budget 20k for a new engine etc, it's well over priced. Plenty on NZ new ones with almost half the kms around 40-45k. Even a m5 comp of 54k
-
Maybe someone has been ignoring the 'top up engine oil' message for too long

f**k that's rough! Sorry to hear that mate! Years ago had someone break in while we were upstairs all asleep. Nicked my brand new shirt I left in the bag downstairs. Scary thing was, Had a mate stay over a week earlier and she swears she saw someone in the garden when she got up for a drink. She could have easy walked in on them

Most customers with f15s were getting 70-100km of driving but it all depends on how you drive. Same with tyres, some getting 60+ others getting 20km If you check the servicing menu in the idrive will give you an approximate distance left on the brakes
-
F15s are basically a facelifted facelift e70. Share a lot of common components are more refined
-
No, just buy one already
