It's part and parcel of owning a car, its no different to your car failing on 4 shock absorbers cause they are leaking. It's gunna cost a stack to fix so I don't buy that as an excuse

Seeking advice for the BMW 116i (2012-2013) (F20)
Gaz replied to Quan99's topic in General Discussion
The 4 cylinder 118i/116 are all good and go better than you'd expect. They tend to leak coolant from the connector plate at the rear of the head and expansion tank, both cheap fixes, but otherwise good wee cars -
Lots of old McDonald had a farm, 5 little ducks etc can't have the tv on with the 2 year old awake cause only his stuff is allowed to be on When he's asleep, Marcella was good on Netflix expect the final 2 episodes. Sunderland till I die, FIFAtv on youtube has been putting up classic world cup games. Craving football massively especially since our season was supposed to start last weekend and was finally fit for a change, now that's gone out the window.

Could try anything electronic in Nelson. They are pretty handy

Swapped over drivers door on the e36 after a wee bump I had a couple of years ago. Now fits nicely instead of being bent, also nice to have a working window as the replacement door has a working window regulator

Fair enough mate, hate it when life gets in the way of hobbies haha

Surely it's time to move this to the projects section now ?

Bump...any interest? If they don't sell then I'll run them anyway
-
Not necessarily, always good practice to check if any recalls are outstanding on a car when you first buy it
-
If either of those two things occur then no autosure won't cover but the dealer will. Autosure are great, and yes they cover timing chains
-
Bunnings etc are only open to trade customers so they can carry out essential repairs. One would assume there is a process to go through if your car does break down and you are an essential worker but I doubt that they would disclose that publicly

I was going to suggest possible software update. Most faults in modern cars are solved by software
-
VAG parts are massively expensive. There's a few BMW/VW/Audi parts that are all the same and BMW are always the cheapest

I've just noticed, is the thread title supposed to 'braverian' or is that an auto correct from Bavarian?
-
Oil leaks and valve stem seals are the other two big ones
-
Head into the local dealer in the morning
-
Swap wheel speed sensor left to right, fault follows, faulty sensor. Fault stays the same, like ABS module fault
-
Not as much as an evo one but would say could get up to $1000 For the whole lot
