  1. Dream car right there! I can't remember the guys or company name but there is BMW wrecker in Hinds. He has just collected my friends e3 3.0 which was complete but a rust bucket and was planning on wrecking it I believe
  2. Yeah the valve stem seals go at half the mileage on some of them, but at 6.5k it's alot of car for very little money
  3. I've been keeping my eye on them and plenty in that 12-20k bracket that just don't seem to sell This is the v8 one that sold recently https://www.trademe.co.nz/2408178260
  4. Maybe exaggerated with 'plenty' but anything $1 reserve goes sub 10k. Two examples where here in Chch, 3litre petrol with 120k for $6500. V8 with 220k for 7ish. Both had all the big stuff down like suspension airbags, valley plate on the v8 etc etc
  5. About 5k over priced in my opinion. Plenty of them to be had under the 10k mark
  6. In my experience, Protecta are terrible regards of the vehicles history
  7. Sounds like either would be perfect for you, rather overkill for my needs. I paid $200 a corner albeit for 205/45/16s
  8. Definitely get photos of the damage, particularly the interior. Who knows what was done to the inside, could cause electrical issues. Try to get something that indicates it has been repaired correctly. Had a customer buy a repaired import and were forever chasing electrical issues either due to the accident or the shoddy repairs
  9. There is no money in refurbishing wheels if you are looking to sell one unless they are one of a kind. I picked up some 14inch weaves for $160 with no centres. I wouldn't bother getting centres from USA, just as cheap if not cheaper at the dealer To pay $500 for some 14inch weaves, you would hope they are mint
  10. This would be a good start https://www.trademe.co.nz/2422087846
  11. Manual seats......interesting.
  12. Should fit other Euros like VW/Audi/Merc etc although not sure how the offset would go but plenty of those around
  13. Try this guy https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/engines/listing-2414175914.htm?rsqid=fcb901c5f37d4ed3b8bae31c489b4f98-001
  14. Got these on my e30, haven't driving it in about a year but well impressed, great grip
  15. I think you might struggle to find someone to do that for you. It would be better to have the workshop diagnose it correctly and then you carry out the repair if you interested in saving money. In my experience, jobs where customers to self diagnose never goes well

    Aussie E46s Grounded.

Local law makes a difference. Australia government is handling the airbag recall differently to NZ. You see this all the time with the way BMW North America handles things due to their suing culture

There's two stages to the NZ recall. The alpha airbags which are the dangerous ones which I can only assume Aussie have more of those fitted?? In NZ, alpha airbags are fitted in e46 up to 2000ish. Anything else is voluntary.

If they are by different manufactures so yes they are different hence why all cars are not affected. Japan had/has some strange rules where if you are selling a car in Japan it must have a certain number of Japanese made products in them. Hence jatco gearboxs etc. Not sure where Aussie fits into this but the directive comes from BMW AG which cars are affected
  23. Thats a good idea Dave, also cleaning products
