I always liked this one blasting around the streets of Wellington... not sure it'll work with a blue base though...

I have enough e36's already thanks! Oh, and 'Brake Light Circuit Failure' - we've all been there!
-
Exactly, who's being a dick? Name and shame. How irresponsible. And are the existing (remaining) site sponsors complaining (loudly)?
-
Fook. You don't see many good ones come up often and that's a good one at a sharp price. Exhaust tips must go but that's easy. Eyelids must go but that's easy. Carbon decals must go but that's easy. Genuine ACS rear window spoiler. Electric rear vents!!!!! And as far as Individual leather colours go, that's hardly offensive and seems to be in very good condition. Now, as for SMG, well it's not my preference but they can now be serviced/fixed in the aftermarket so you're not looking at $5k if something goes wrong. They're not as elegant as a DCS and take some getting used to (expect to spend a month jerking around everywhere) but they're not entirely terrible. I certainly wouldn't fork out the ~$4k (?) required to get it converted. Pity there's no service history listed - if you don't know if the VANOS and cooling system have been done (probably not at 92k kms) you'll need to front ~$2k for that immediately but I still think it's a bargain at $22k. Somebody needs to buy this (and bring it to Auckland for me to fawn over).

Wow, you're not doing things by half! And I'm really interested to see that GTR hood, does it use pins? Although I'm not interested in companies that claim "amazing gains" without posting dyno charts that they must already have (you can't make a performance exhaust without a lot of dyno time) it sure looks pretty! Does that K&N setup for the e46 really cost $1,000? $120 for the filter and $880 for the other two bits?

Can you tell me about this? I need a new windscreen.

Two written off E46 M3's up for auction

Actually it says "Vehicle has water in radiator and oil in engine." which is where I'd expect those fluids to be... -
Finished the right hand side suspension, it actually took me longer to remove the CD changer, carpet and insulation to get to the top mount than it did to put in the new shock and spring. It all needs to settle, it's riding a little high at the moment but it's noticeably stiffer than the 'Motorsport' setup. Will order the front parts before the weekend.

I think those rims look terrible, too big, too gangster. So that makes his 10k offer of stock wheels and good tyres seem really reasonable to me.

Started the rear suspension on the 328...
-
And I disconnected the exhaust silencer flap and bunged the vacuum hose. That's probably 10 rwhp for sure.

The 328 got some love today with the rear end suspension overhaul under way. I only got one side done this afternoon because some tool had installed one of the rear shocks the wrong way around (smh). No worries, the other side is an easy task for tomorrow afternoon. I needed a 600mm breaker bar to undo the bottom bolts, electric impact just couldn't cut it. This is the LH shock installed incorrectly and the bottom bolt was stuffed into the bushing... I couldn't get any purchase on the bolt. This is how it should be installed. So I had to spend 30 mins cutting away the bushing with a Stanley knife, a good result only cost me two blades.

Haha, haven't even driven it yet! Needed to do some chores after I finished. But I don't expect to feel any difference for some time yet, it's one of those 'on the limit' things. At worst, it won't hurt having it. It was a long time ago that I needed all of the load space.

Added a rear bar to the ///M...
-
Added a rear bar. I'm sure it's entirely unnecessary but now the car will be as square as possible front and rear. It's an Ultra Racing bar that I picked up for a good deal on Trademe. I might get it powder coated in grey or some colour other than white at some stage. At this point I've just added a bit of ///M.

You'd be surprised! I worked on this very thing when I was living in Europe (emergency call location for cell phones) and that was before GPS was in every phone. It's really technically challenging because you have to be very certain in which direction you send that ambulance or fire truck. Apartment blocks are really nasty because you can't get accurate elevation data, even if you can triangulate via cell tower. In NZ for some time now, any non-iPhone with GPS allows for pretty accurate location determination if you use the Emergency Call function, it's not a given if you just dial 111 manually. Until very recently iPhones couldn't do this (because for some reason Apple thinks they're special). However this capability is now available and I believe Vodafone, Spark and Vocus have all rolled it out. Again, requires the use of the Emergency Call function (the one that can be used without a SIM).

Threw one out a few weeks back, was pretty average condition though. I've still got an airbag and clock spring if that's all you need.

Wow, they are some brutal suggestions. Use a pick or thin leaver tool to lift up the tail, that will unclip it and removal becomes trivial. And, unlike some of the suggestions above, won't damage what it's clamped to. Edit: they're called oetiker clamps and are used in assembly because they close/clamp with a predetermined force. And it's for this reason you can't replace with the same kind of clamp unless it's exactly the same as the one you removed. You're better of using a worm drive clamp to replace it.

I still use Edge in the M3. The 328 does love its Penrite though. So does my wallet.
-
Yep, bolts straight up. You need M3 top hats for the front but I have those also. Well at least that's what I've been led to believe!

Probably is 25.5 (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=BG22-EUR-04-1996-E36-BMW-328i&diagId=31_0267) Cost will be approaching $0 but I can provide no assurances as to when it will be available. I first need to get the M3 suspension into the front so I can hook my M3 bar up to the shock bodies. It will be more than 2 weeks though...

Oh yeah, I shouldn't forget this...
