  1. Thanks , yes I'd considered both poly and offset and went with OEM M3 centred versions. For my needs and with the slushbox I couldn't justify an alignment or any more NVH. When I do the M3 however . . .
  2. It's going to be a fascinating ride. Wow. Americans are more stupid than the English... after Brexit I wasn't sure. Americapocalypse
  3. All good mate, love what you're doing.
  4. ^ Nevertheless, relevant advice for me some 4 weeks ago!
  5. Nice, although I couldn't unsee the curb rash on the LHF rim. Where's that single lane road? And what did your wife say?
  6. Bonus. The CD changer in the boot has a cassette and a bunch of (ripped) CD's. Thanks to @BreakMyWindow for the suggestion to check! Now I just need to work out how to activate it.
  7. That 323 is very nice and the work gone into it is fantastic. Our Auckland monthly meet is open to all cars as long as you're a BMW enthusiast. We even let Michael continue to bring his Toymotor.
  8. So I checked this a week or so ago actually and noticed that whilst both bushes were okay they were different from one and other, not a set. New bushes due this week and then warrant and rego time.
  9. Posting a link to the thread in the other forum is cool, nobody around here will get upset. No need to copy stuff unnecessarily. My lol (but great) 328: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/56912-another-e36-my-328-beater/ My M3: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/47049-m3an-e36-m3-plog-project-log/
  10. ^ Glenn is good and most modern BMW's require a lot of servicing.
  11. Not sure how accurate that ^ is? Doesn't match up to the attached which come from a pretty reputable source. Lots of cam data here: http://www.catcams.com/engines/engine-selection.aspx?SelectedManufacturer=4 S50B30.pdf S50B32.pdf
  12. That 318i is too expensive IMHO. What's your budget? My E36 328i (auto) is on the road and soon to be warrantable for well under $3k. Your old blue (Avus?) coupe looks sweet. Edit: welcome to the board and NZ. Congrats on the rugby!
  13. Not sure if they could have taken worse photos. Pretty easy to work out if it has an LSD and short shift and they're hardly common on a 318i. Engine bay looks immaculate if that says anything. Too expensive IMHO... E36 318's should be less than $2k really. Especially with quarter of a million km's.
  14. lol yes. I replaced the entire cooling system on my daily the other week and checked and cleaned the level sensor. Worked great for 4 days then decided to stop working... :-/ If I replace it now I'll lose litres of fresh coolant and have to fill up bleed the system again... not going to happen in the short term. So I'm living with the warning. This is from BMW's TIS but you'll be working pretty blind:
  15. Hey guys, following this, love the plan. As discussed with Martin today, 5 x 16" style 30's are yours for a few beers if you like. Tyres are workshop roll-about only but the wheels are straight. Also coupe door card bits are available as a trade for a smoke test on my 328i beast once I pick my other ones up from Glen.
  16. Interesting. Yep, you're using realoem correctly, not sure why it's throwing up China only options. Either find a 17mm socket and whip a wheel off or jack the car up and measure the disk with the wheel on or guestimate from the outside with a tape measure, 20 odd mm should be reasonably easy to determine.
  17. lol, tidy! FYI: http://www.bimmerdiy.com/diy/e36startbutton/
  18. Looks like a Hong Kong import to me, no Japanese parts listed on that page. What are the last 7 characters of your VIN?
  19. Yep, Brawn is absolutely one of the best in the business and quite capable of putting that Ecclestone dinosaur in his place. And we know Ross works well with Todt. I'm also warming (quite well) to Eric Baullier whilst cooling to Christian Horner at the same time.
  20. So it looks like 1.5m wide should be enough to do both the left and right seat panels (assuming you're not doing the bolsters) and 2m in length should be okay to do the front and rear seats but that probably won't allow for any cutting errors so I'd go for 3m. Of course it will depend on the seats and I only have experience with mine. If you measure the outside of the panels as rectangles and add 100mm to each dimension you'll be safe.
  21. I'll have to measure how much is left when I get home but they used way less than I expected!
  22. Can have: http://www.schmiedmann.com/en/product/6745-new?product=51-13-2-251-378
  23. I'll take the tensioner pulley + rack stop set for $20 + postage to Auckland? Lowball enough?
  24. These guys are friends of the forum so to speak and have some good stuff. Not sure where you're able to shop. https://unitedcarcare.co.nz/
