  1. Meh, even that doesn't convince me. I've never see a genuine Schnitzer without some interior fettling and a numbered plaque. For a while in the 90's you could option the Schnitzer non-mechanical catalogue onto a new car directly from the BMW dealer, that's all these examples are, stock cars with expensive (at the time) options.
  2. lol, seller has his head buried in the sand.

    Stress. Anxiety.

I've been exposed to similar situations as this Graham. If the company feels it's in their (or mutual) best interests to end the relationship they may be willing to provide a written positive reference to expedite that. It's worth asking - 'hey guys, this clearly isn't working out and it's not in our best interests to keep trying, I'm happy to start looking for other opportunities if you're willing to help with a good reference for me' - and, depending on how much you can tolerate, you could even negotiate to stay on whilst you're looking for a new job, perhaps in a reduced capacity if required or desired. Best wishes mate, these situations are sh*t.
  4. https://www.bimmergeeks.net/downloads Standard tools.
  5. Yeah, ~$70 from Ali. But to answer your question Brian, both should do the trick.
  6. Welcome Chris and nice work on the DIY repair! Get yourself to a PC and upload some pics. 😁
  7. I was thinking that, I need a few $10 gaskets. But then I imagined how easy it would be to service low value orders then fleece somebody on something of high value later on. I hope the admins reached out to the OP rather than just killing the thread, an invite to "please read the rules and engage with the community to help us understand" would help Bimmersporters much more than just shutting it down. To be honest, it looks like a one man band (or at least very few people) who have (trade?) accounts with various German suppliers which might allow for some sharp pricing. I think the cost of shipping will be the biggest factor because the only thing that can influence that is volume.
  8. I'm pretty impressed you only need 1 min each for those wheels, they're stunning. My BBS RC's, with less than half the spokes, take many minutes each! The CRC stuff is the same chemical compound as Dragon's Breath and other similar products, they all seem to be purple, I don't know if that's dye or if they have chemical permanganates in them. You don't need a pressure washer but I think a pressure washer would leave less residue (as little is left after using a normal hose anyway). In my experience timing is important, there's a smallish window between "I've got the crap off" and "I'm going to dry and leave marks". All said and done I consider it a blessing. When I first got Dragon's Breath I was amazed, this is the same stuff for 1/4 the price. I got a 4l bottle for $99, 50% off.
  9. Spray on, wait 4 mins, wash off. Next to zero effort. https://www.repco.co.nz/en/car-care-panel/car-care/tyre-care/crc-9309-mag-monster-mag-wheel-cleaner-4l-9309/p/A1336147
  10. Assuming normal Motorsport spec including Xenons and auto, with bald tyres... I'd be starting at 7. Even a remotely good set of 17" (?) tyres will cost $800 right?
  11. Regardless of the reason if it faults after clearing it need to be replaced, get them to do it before purchase if you go with that car. A Bosch O2 sensor can be as little as $150, as much as $350 and the post cat ones can be a bitch to replace (depending on exhaust configuration).
  12. The S50B32US didn't have ITB's, I have misinterpreted your post if that's not what you were referring to. But another good example of why it's inferior to the proper S50.
  13. Bump. Come on folks, since BS members seem to own half the 130 fleet in all of NZ somebody must want need these. Let's be honest, the pre-LCI tails look old, you need some LED love. Happy to negotiate with BS members that own a 130 E81/7... try me.
  14. The S50B32US is the best M50 engine ever produced by BMW. It is amazing though that it was only 240hp and the N52, with admittedly a 20 year development curve, produced an easy 260hp with 200cc less capacity.
  15. That's as ugly as sin but I want to drive it.
  16. lol - seller is a dreamer.
  17. I've always used demineralised rather than distilled water based on various advice... distilled water isn't completely deionised whereas demineralised water is (or nearly completely at least), it helps that demineralised water is also less expensive. I really have no idea about your specific problem but this might be something to consider?
  18. That looks awesome... I will ask how much a whole interior is... the M3 might get some 25 year love.
  19. @NZ BMW - Nathan can you share the contact details, via PM if you wish?
  20. I'm not 100% sure now, I measured it back in the day, I think the purple tag + e46 inners are 10mm too much for the e36, which is why I got my e36 inners machined to allow internal venting. I think the racks have the same travel. That's a picky WoF! you can get OEM rack stops if required.
  21. Mine's insured for $8k (purchase price) but at that stage I didn't know it had all the nice bits on it. I'm thinking of asking them to bump it up to at least $10k, I don't think I could replace it (and the bits) for that even...
  22. LHD only and it's comparable to the "purple tag" rather than the Z3 rack IIRC.
  23. Same. And before and after pics of the bolsters?
  24. lol - maybe my $150 (sans airbag and slipring) was a little optimistic 😂 but I think $450 is a bit rich for something that will otherwise sit on a shelf collecting dust and decreasing in value, they're hardly in high demand. Let's say $250. 😁 Regardless, good luck with your search and imminent purchase... as long as you realise that your wife might be so happy that you end up with another kid. 😉
