  1. This one looks to have leather LCI door cards if anyone is looking for them (Auckland)... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/accessories/listing/3035409423
  2. Your personal device will be your mobile profile and information hub, other systems will connect and adapt but they'll only be "dumb" human interface devices such as screens and touch surfaces.
  3. No worries, should be able to get to that tomorrow evening for you with pics.
  4. Given how liberally BMW splatter the M badge everywhere now, diluting it to almost meaningless, it no longer surprises me people make these ignorant mistakes.
  5. I can sell you a set of OE BMW meaty pads and healthy rotors that I've just taken off the front of my 130i if that's of interest? That'll save you a chunk on shipping. Wish I could also offer you the rears but I've not done them yet. Calipers too if you need a spare set lol. If you're possibly interested I can measure them and take some pics but they're in good enough condition to last years yet. I upgraded to performance calipers and rotors. Either way, I got 4 x rotors shipped from www.spareto.com and they were cheaper landed than I could get locally... although the shipping still stung!
  6. Pre-'96 top hats? I thought they were the same as or similar to non-M ones. It's the '96 (Evo) ones that have the extra caster built in. Maybe that's the same for the 3.0, I can't remember. Either way, the Evo, with the offset tophats do have less clearance and that's why the Evo springs are conical, I assume the shocks match the springs so will be smaller than non-M ones. If you go to M3 struts I'd also change to M3 droplinks (strut mounted).
  7. This link I provided is for parts for your car, you just need t cross check part numbers with the items for sale.

    E36 parts clear out

Cheers, I've fixed my PM's and sent you one.
  9. Chances of a full, integrated replacement reduce as BMW encrypt more of the system. They're getting better at preventing substitution which of course is an anti-consumer expense.
  10. Which part? https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partgrp?id=VB12-EUR-11-2005-E90-BMW-325i&mg=65

    E36 parts clear out

I'll take the boot lock reinforcement please.
  12. If that plays out it's mostly good. My biggest concern would be that something considered 'essential' to use/enjoy all of the features would be hidden behind an expensive paywall... just like Tesla does (and are being sued for).
  13. I was just thinking to myself and before scrolling down, 'could be mistaken for a Mustang'.
  14. North Shore - The Bolt Shop East/South - Steelmasters Make sure you get HT ones, if your other ones aren't HT, replace them all.
  15. Glad you're lovin' it. And nice plate.

    RIP Sabine

I hadn't realised she had cancer, taken too young for sure. 😢
  17. What car have they gone on? $200 a corner for 19's can't be laughed at but I'd be weary of road noise and wet weather performance at those prices... you can't even get 18's in that size for that money for a good all-round tyre. What's the load and wear rating?
  18. This answers my offset plate question... nope! 😆🤮
  19. Yep, I replied in the other thread, can do.
  20. OBD1 isn't really a thing but I have a working pre-OBDII (ADS) setup with the pacman connector... which vehicle?
  21. Oh dear... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chrome-Headlights-Trim-Bezel-Cover-Surround-Rim-For-BMW-1-Series-E87-Hatchback/192957785005
  22. I don't get carplay or Android auto but a full blown Android system (not the same as Android auto) is vastly superior to iDrive.
  23. The chance of a proprietary BMW operating system being compromised is orders of magnitude higher than that of say, Android or Linux, because these operating systems are open source and more mature. BMW would have saved themselves a lot of pain by using something off the shelf, they could still make it look like, and do what they wanted to make it a point of difference. I suspect they didn't go down this route because of the questions I ask above, they want owners to be tethered to BMW for the life of the vehicle with no choice to go elsewhere for software updates and support. They'll have to provide support for life so expect a subscription model for out-of-warranty cars to be announced eventually. Although I'm not sure they can expect an active subscription for security or safety updates.
