I'll have to measure it... that fact that I've failed to do so already is pitiful. Doesn't look very thick tbh, less than 15mm I'd say at a guess.

The core statistics are infections and deaths. Regardless of any other noise, we are doing remarkably well despite the lapses mentioned above. It also appears like we're learning and improving all of the time, and faster than elsewhere. International tourism accounts for <7% of our GDP, unfortunately some businesses will suffer and fail but our economy will not.

For the 130i boys and girls, is the stock rear swaybar blue? Mine is blue and that strikes me as a little odd for OEM.
-
I couldn't agree more really. They're now suspecting it could be a boarder link or from imported packaging! If it's the later the whole world has an even more terrible problem to solve. And the Yanks are still partying... Sturgis... smh.

Also looking forward to the game but I can't understand how they can have level 3 for less than 14+ days? I understand why they only announced 3 days (to avoid rebellion) but surely, given they're unlikely to be able to contact trace everybody, we need at least 14 days? I don't think the question is whether we'll go to level 2 in Auckland, I think it's whether we can avoid level 4. A good thing I saw today, amongst the madness, was that many, many people were wearing masks or face coverings, actually being responsible.

Yes, although it was 8 months ago now it was invaluable when I was looking for my 130i. All of the build and retrofit information is stored in the car so it can be retrieved if you plug it in to ISTA but that doesn't really help if you're filtering out over the internet from the comfort of your home.

Door cards look to be in great shape, good score!

I hear you, I get you, I agree with you. I understand exactly what you're saying. Nevertheless assault-style firearms are intimidating, we can't change that but we can change what we carry. It's a bit like wearing a mask, you're doing it for those you're amongst, not yourself.
-
I agree with those statements but you've missed my point. Legitimate firearms owners can do a lot for their own cause by not stoking the fire and assault style weapons, regardless of their function, are intimidating. You're not going to get the 99% of non-owners to agree with your point of view but you can get the remaining 1% to adapt. It may not be fair but it's pretty darn obvious what the sensible direction is. You don't need an assault style weapon to spit out a 556/223 quickly so choose something that doesn't stoke the anti-gun lobby.

And they'll compress over time. Owning BMW's = getting used to the lean. Even my 130 on fully adjustable coil overs leans and they're adjusted perfectly hub to arch... ?

I think it's important for license holders to choose not to use "assault style" weapons, including those that imitate the aesthetics of military firearms. There's no point and it only gives ammunition (pun intended) to the anti-gun lobby. Function over form, nobody needs to use a "scary" looking firearm and if people do it because they think it's "cool" they're missing the mark by a wide margin. Short mag semi-automatics have a place in NZ but that place is very, very small, and in that place everything should look entirely functional and not at all intimidating. Even simple aesthetics like wooden stocks make a difference, nobody needs a FRP stock, deal with the weight, our forebearers did. I gave up my license many years ago now because I had no ongoing need for it but I can sympathise with elements from both sides. IMHO NZ should be "gun free" insofar as only those that need a firearm for a very specific purpose should be allowed to (lawfully) own one. Edit: I do consider being an active member of a gun club to be a valid reason for ownership. Once the supply of attractive (to criminals) weapons dries up nationally we can focus on boarder control which is actually quite easy with modern tech.

Recommendations for Personalised Plates (standard vs slim)

I did not know that, I would have got one if I'd known. Although it does seem that if you want a Euro rear plate you get a logo on the front plate too. Perhaps you can make two separate orders? -
My theory is somebody approached them with a business model... Entrepreneur: Hey BMW do you know people are using your data for free when you could charge for it? BMW: Yes, but it's too much trouble, we can't be bothered. E: If you give us access, and empower us to issue takedowns, we'll charge customers and pay you a royalty. B: What do we have to do? E: Profit. B: Okay.

Welcome Dylan, and I must say, that looks pretty sharp! Well done. How was the drive back to the great windy Welly?

Carbon fibre mat can't do this, it would require both stretching and compression at enormous tension which would be impossible whilst laying it. The black stuff is 'floating' on the base, just like a dip would. Unless there's actual evidence of real carbon fibre I can see nothing to suggest it's real at this stage. How it looks where it is straight isn't an indication that it's real cf, as I say, good dips look real these days. Cf is woven material, can you imagine any weave looking like this, regardless of the material?
-
I have something in my cart from them so I hope they're good! Looking back at the pic of the diffuser and zooming in, I can't imagine a situation that cf weave could distort like that, but on the other hand it looks exactly like what happens with dip swirls when you remove the piece from the tub. Are there any signs of actual carbon fibre mat being used? Unless I could verify it as actual cf I'd assume it's dipped, some dips are good enough these days to defeat even a close inspection. If it's not actual cf that would be an instant refund from Trademe, regardless of what the seller wanted to do.

I watched an episode of Car SOS that restored a 2002 turbo just this week. They took a total rust bucket that didn't run and handed back a concourse example, it was astonishing. -
Also has this crazy, rear seats down cargo net. It's OEM but took me a fair while to work out! ? There are supplementary fittings in the roof for it.
-
I wasn't expecting fine weather today so made the most of it to air out and clean the car. All in all I spent about 3 hours on the interior and it's come up really well, it looks really good and no major damage uncovered. Total soccer-mum car, you can see the ISOFIX fittings have been used, there are marks from a child seat and I found a ton of Lego, raisins and crisps under the back seat. ? All of the door cards, centre console, seat plastics and dash have been scrubbed clean and look great. All of the leather from boots to seats to armrests and steering wheel have been cleaned and conditioned with Oakwoods and are sweet, I'm very happy (as I hope a new owner will be). I finished it off with a full vacuum, the mats themselves are in great condition. The sagging headliner has been addressed with upholstery pins which have done a fantastic job but of course it will need to be replaced eventually. I need to remove the failing 'soft touch plastic' from the steering wheel insert and iDrive controller shroud next. Oh, and it no longer stinks. Bonus.

No Euro = wide, Slim = smaller in all dimensions, see above. -

You can get one of each, I did for my 1er. Slim looks terrible on the back, it's too small. They look great on the front though IMHO. Edit: you'll need a frame for the large Euro plate, the slim front one has holes and you screw it to the bumper. -
Have you guys got water restrictions up there too? ?
