  1. He's a nice guy actually. $37k - call your insurers folks! Holy crap.
  2. Policy hasn't changed at all and I'm happy with that. I occasionally get a letter asking me if I want to review my agreed value and if so to give them a call (which I'll be doing after finding out how much that M3 Evo went for). Other than that zero hassles (but also zero claims).
  3. If so, perhaps we could start a valuations thread? If the values were high enough! ? I could start an auction with a $1m buy now and "low ball offers accepted, post number in comments", see what came in. Bit of a Dutch auction.
  4. No longer available sorry, I sent these back to the seller today. Somebody missed a bargain.
  5. Good idea, done. Will advise.
  6. Agreed, and if you really want a manual, get a manual. The auto is pretty (really) good, especially with some aftermarket paddles, as a daily/weekend compromise it's perfect, but it's not a manual.
  7. And, having just knocked off ~300km's over the weekend to the Coromandel and back to Aucks in everything from dry and sunny to torrential I can say I'm happy with the following settings... no rear traction issues, just proper throttle management. Hardly saw the DSC light (thanks LSD). Rear end is still rubbing even +10mm but that's down to the wrong offset wheels which will need to go back on the M3 eventually anyway.
  8. Never got time to post a pic of these before I had to head off for a long weekend. Total PITA install but I like the result.
  9. Bump, price dropped by 25%, surprised these haven't been picked up yet.
  10. Yes, steering wheel must go but that's an easy enough swap on the Evo. I seriously don't think they're worth this much. And I own one.
  11. Yeah, dealer option which is a PITA because we have a disconnected, redundant third brake light moulded into the rear shelf and window. Some NZ new ones were factory specked with a rear spoiler and therefore don't have the rear screen light.
  12. Indeed, fiddled a lot, including a gross aftermarket front bumper. I've never seen that AFE intake cover for an E8x, I suspect it's off something else. Good to see it's been worked on by BM Workshop, at least once in its life. This one needs more pics but for around the same money might be a better buy: https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2689688601.htm
  13. Wow. ? Edit: plate rings a bell, if it lived in Auckland around 2004 I think I know a PO.
  14. I also have a Turtle Wax kit which I got for cheap, your post has encouraged me to haul it out. I hate cheap plastic headlights, bring back glass.
  15. Maybe take a punt on this? https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2685592122.htm You'd need to 'fix' a few things (and go for the 18's) but projects can be fun. Edit: front bumper has been replaced, you'd want to check for damage there, and radiator.
  16. I'd get genuine ones, even if they're not strictly necessary. Either your local dealer or FCP Euro or Schmiedmann.
  17. It does look good... but... Nope. ? I got mine off Pearce Brothers (different location though), how did they price mine as they did and this one as they have?

Sure are, I just installed mine tonight, what a royal pain in the arse that was! https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=UD52-EUR-03-2007-E87N-BMW-130i&diagId=03_0125
  19. There will be variances because of the simple mechanical nature of the 'stat as Allan says but this variance is in the "it doesn't matter" range, it's not worth bothering about. If you can keep the temps to below 120*C, nominally at 100*C you have nothing to worry about. Your coolant changes temp way faster that your oil, head or block. You should ideally monitor oil temp, not coolant temp. Only if oil temps become unmanageable do you need to consider the cooling system.
  20. You do realise that they only work for 2.5 days each week right? Which 2.5 days is a little more difficult to predict.

And BMWP pedal covers, nice. And any time you want to flick on that intake... ? Yes, tow hook hole cover is mandatory.

    Quick rant thread.

Well they can, they just won't get reimbursed by BMW for the parts or labour.
