Hi Colin, don't feel so bad i have done the same thing. If you want to you can simple dismantle your cup holder and with pieces from the new one flip them over and reassemble them in their place.

Check out No 15,and 17 they are rubber caps on the back of the inlet manifold due to the heat they just disintegrate http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E46-Sedan/Europe/325i-M54/R-N/oct2000/browse/engine/intake_manifold_system/.

Thanks Richard M badge won't go their it came with the de-badge option ticked and i like it like that quiet little sleeper. Thanks Ray have sent you a Pm

Yes they are style 194 on the e90 's rim size start at 8 or 8.5 i believe have seen a few e46's with them fitted. Just being a bit pick ey personnel I prefer the 97's as they were fitted to the e46 Compact M sport also which I have used as a guide on my project car Tim325.

Hi Graham Take your point been trying for close on a year now missed out on the set Brent had for sale over a weekend. All the others I have noticed were in poor condition and asking an arm and a leg plus a refurbish as well. Have to be careful as the e90 series came out with a very similar style as the one's I'm after.
-
Thanks Brent, those are the ones I was looking at so not genuine hu. Do you know of any style 97's for sale it appears if one goes staggered they are 7.5 in the front with an off set of 47 tyres 225/45 x17 the rear are 8.5 with 50 off set tyres 245/40 x17.

geesss Treone have you got that bitter taste of lemon's yet .Or a long list of possible problems which are being crossed off visit by visit or people who don't know what to look for?.
-
Ok try removing the rubber vent pipes altogether to allow air to move freely so helping to remove the moisture laden air. Trying to find a way other than dismantling the headlight unit ( pain the arse) completely drying it out and finding you still have the problem return. Also do you have high wattage bulbs fitted?.
-
Check to see if the drain vents don't have spider webs or the like blocking them. The headlights must have been on for a while and gotten warm but the air temperature must have been cool and as they cooled condensation has been created.and unable to escape. Try gently warming the headlight glass to remove it and hopefully with the drains open and air movement it will solve your problem.

You would have to be lucky or in the know to find something like that in NZ. Have a look on e-bay their was one for $300 US but is sold quick or this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E60-M5-E63-M6-Factory-M-Sports-SMG-Leather-Steering-Wheel-w-Paddles-USED-OEM-/322488297547?fits=Make%3ABMW

Let 's agree to disagree on the looks of this vehicle. Comes down to personnel choice for me it looks like any other coupe or sedan from the front. The Ti shape is a stand out and made it a feature of this model in the e46 range along with the sport variant just made it look better.

where can i source a manual conversion overseas?
allan replied to jeremy's topic in General Discussion
James the work side of the conversion in most cases is the easy part. Finding the correct parts is the hard part in NZ such a small market that is why it is easier to go over seas. -
Interesting to read your view point. The one thing that stands out for me in your post is the work you have done or are going to do to these vehicles. Why if BMW's are supposed to be so good do they require all these mod's especially M3 parts to be carried out or is it a personnel thing?. Have owned two e46's myself a M sport sedan and currently a 325ti which was a project. Both i have found to be to reliant on electronic wizardry which I hear only gets worse in the later models. As for the suspension steering etc the M sport is firm and on most NZ road is very harsh on smoother roads could be ok. Steering on the sedan i found was not bad positive both in turn and some feed back through the wheel. The compact even more so and took a bit of getting used to compared to the e46 Sedan and 530. The correct tyre type I feel has a lot to do with this aspect as well as good suspension bushes. Engine wise I have only read about the N54 that it has a lot of hp that can be released but at a price( no surprises their) not only $$$ wise but also at reducing the manufacturers safety margins before engine damage occurs. The M54 engine "according to every one" is a reliable unit why then does it suffer from so may problems oil leaks, cam cover ,lower housing oil filter gaskets, sump gaskets, vanos seals, drive belt tensioners, spring/ hydraulic types, crank case ventilation, cam sensors, fan clutch, cooling system etc. These vehicles are now starting to age sure and this could be a factor for some of these faults but so why when new they still had these faults?. Best of luck with your mods John on the 335 you will no doubt have good times and bad while you carry them out.

If in doubt give it a clout The bigger the doubt the heavier the clout Have you seen this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-7-series-E38-91-04-V12-5-4-M73-bosch-starter-motor-0001218136-/262606323836

Compatible donor cars for E39 manual conversion
allan replied to HardBall66's topic in General Discussion
Spend some time in the parts catalog bmw fans or real com this may help it appears the box is a s5d 320z thch and is used in the 328 as well as the m52 engine. -
Nothing wrong with a few imperial sockets in the tool box Colin try a 5/8 on your 16mm and 3/4 on your 19mm most Japanese cars all you needed were a 8,10, 12,14, 17, 19, 21 and away you went. But with your euros and holdens possibly others brands the nut and bolts used are all over the place real pain in the arse. So having a few imperial size sockets in your tool kit can be a help and they sometimes fit neater than their metre ones. Plus they might be just getting ride of surplus stock.

Sweet 2003 325i E46 Motorsport - in Estrol Blue!

And if it were a manual? -
That looks good and still holds the drinks well the oem ones were a disaster from the word go . If you are not aware their are two little grill sections just above the cup holders behind them are the sensors to read and check on the cabin temp. If a hot or cold drink is present and you have the heater or A/c on it will upset the sensors and give you incorrect settings.
