Hi Allan have windows 7 pro 64 bits. That's a new one no where does it mention having to have the scanner plugged in to the car, cable connected etc in fact the install instructions are piss poor imo. When I received the scanner I placed the disc in the dvd driver as one does opened the BMW instal and followed the instructions , press next it went down hill from their. First no drivers installed opened the drivers folder from the disc and tried to install go to this site find this. Then redirected to some were else, go here and their then it pops up with hardware error and so on and so on. Contacted the firm concern and they came back must be a faulty unit and have offered me a refund which I have accepted.Chalks up another bad experience with scanners and people who do it. Would still like to find something that can turn on an off options but must be simple to set up and run any ideas.

Wish to purchase a scanner for the e46 and after a search on here found this thread. Have a Creator C100 BMW scanner already which is great but is unable to turn on and off options. Upon looking around at various items bought one of these off trade me http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=882850987 turned up 10 days later. Put disc in laptop and do bmw install as requested comes back no drivers opens drivers folder and attempt to install all hell breaks loose and in short end up going around in circles. Do google search and on e46 fantic's find a post about this problem go through the process still doesn't work. Mean while Email globaloutlet firm concerned and after a few interchanges they say item could be defective and have offered a refund. Good they offered the refund but back to square one does anyone have a unit that is simple to set up, run will let you turn things on and off with out doing fifty other thing after all this technology is not new.

Only if a bit late but have the whole set up sitting in the back room from when I did the engine swap water pump, thermostat, steering pump. As you have discovered a right pita to get at and even separate when in place.

The labels would have been different colours, green or voilet I believe this also de-notes what they are and number of turns. Brent touched on this subject some time back when someone was asking for a Z rack also try looking at some Ti ones I know mine has the 2.7 in it.

If you are sure you wish to proceed to do a manual conversion on either a e39 or e46 research,research and even more research. It is the little things that will catch you out that is what I found when converting over the e46. That is like chalk and cheese two different vehicles altogether. It would depend on what the person who is looking and their requiremnets, e39 540 or 530 both highway cruiser with some grunt fun to drive and leg room to boot. The e46 a street hoon car with a little flare it tries to hard with a lot of unnecessary stuff to make up for the short fall Josh's statement is onto it.

Have a chat with your local lock smith or key cutting place to begin with they might lead you to some one that might be able to help. Did this when looking for another key for the wife's 406 Pug worked out way cheaper than the dealers.

Just a thought have you had a look at the idle control valve and what sort of fuel flow do you have to the fuel rail. When I changed the fuel filter on mine the fuel coming out of it was black.

Should you us a e46 body then increase the hp/ torque. Don't forget the extra $$$ for reinforcing work required in the rear sub frame.
