Ok with all the problems these engines have would be wanting some guarantees on it for that sort of money that is steep even if it has 60k on it imo.

A quick check on car jam has it as imported 18 May 2007, Rego in Japan Feb 2003 and assembled in December 2002. Just out of interested what can a MK4 GPS computer be had for these days if the one in it is still the Japanese type?.

Hi Clinton southern determination is what 's called for now just keep chipping away at those problems. As Glenn has lightened to N42's will lighten your wallet as for replacing radiator hoses etc on these it will not take long to blow 300. Another bit of bad news if you are not aware already the n42 has a vacuum pump, rear of motor their "O" rings fail and the pump fills with oil and it can get spread through out the vacuum system. Let us know how this project unfolds for you.

Hi Clinton, Sorry to hear about your trouble with the new arrival as you have found out the n42, 46 's are not very row bust they leak, cough and course all manner of stress cases for their owners. Have a few bits left over from my old n42 when I did he trans plant if I can help out give use a call but If i may throw it as far as you can or do you own a boat ( sorry it wouldn't be heavy enough) and get a six in their.

Hi Paul and welcome You have a few e39 owners on the forum so the knowledge base is present to tape into. With the k's your machine has done the cooling system and suspension are the things that stand out the most the electric thermostats and plastic impellered water pumps can be a problem I see you have already done some work on the cooling so this may not apply. The front thrust arms and control rod bushes wear but these give warning signs, shack in steering and woggle under braking the rear set up again is generally due to things wearing. The other things I found were passenger window switch's( right rear in my case) the inside bits would brake. Also if not fixed already the oil filter housing oil leak any how just enjoy the 530i all bare their faults they are a good cruiser.

Followed a E46 325 gray touring with a surf board on the roof through the Manawatu gorge a few minutes later saw a red one traveling in the opposite direction Friday heading into Plamy Nth a Suzuki swift with Plate ZX4BMW not sure what that was about thoughts anyone.
-
What about the accident, who failed to give way, who was traveling to fast , was any one hurt physically. This is like an Shakespeare play "A much to do about nothing".

Good one Clinton have you checked on your insurance for surgery cover is it active let us know what the out come is and your impression of the owner in the flesh?. Cheers and have a good flight

Sure don't cut of your nose to spit your face it takes time for change to occur along with people using their feet and other options. By all means keep using trademe but also us the other providers as well and help them grow along with a warning on your trade me auctions that the item is advertised else were.
-
Maybe just maybe if enough dis-satisfied clients of trademe started using other service providers like them and the share holders dividend took a dive them they might just might get the message. Or is that a pipe dream?. Hope at the end of this sage Clinton gets an out come which is palatable.

Borrow OBDII usb for E46 (Wellington)
allan replied to [email protected]'s topic in Electrical system
Hi Andy , No taken just letting Sam know that sometimes prices given are not what one might think they represent and should be explained more carefully. As for the engine swapped car yes that could apply but both items were on the car before it had the trans plant so I feel would not apply. Being the so called dealer ship and having the "correct" scanning equipment I felt they should have been able to turn off a simple chime device. As for the fluid level sensor that's open for further debate but at the time it felt like more money had been thrown at it and still no result so was dissatisfied with the results. -

Is that just the hook up fee and any work is extra get them to explain it to you in detail or you could have a nasty surprise. Gray's charged me 147 odd this was hook up fee, turn off door chime when open they couldn't only turned it down plus a fault in the windscreen fluid level sensor, replace sensor as they suggested $55 still have problem take from my experience what you like. -
If you don't mind me asking what did the oil separator cost you?.
-
If your car is a 2002 it should be a face lift but 2000 was the change over I believe on the cars before this date some mods needed to be done but after they were able to be fitted with some wiring changes only. The face lift ones only had a weak 5watt standard bulb to operate the angel eyes and were poor light quality LED bulbs can be had plug and play far better quality light.

Hi Nathan, Cam shaft sensors /pulse generator are No four and 5 is an "O" ring for it these are located in the front of the motor under each camshaft. Not sure where or if it has a crank sensor the N42 an n46 have a different system No1 and 9 valvtronic. With all that oil it might be an idea to check your brake booster to see if it has any in it
-
Well not sure what happened but the cruise control now works so one problem down a couple more to fix.
-
Hi, Would have to check the clutch switch but I do know the cruise was working before the trans plant. Motor performs well and no known MAF trouble yes had to use the 325i EWS a series 3 so the code sent by the key would be excepted by the ews and tell the other modules all was good and allow the motor to be started. The car was originally radio signal operated central lock/ remote opening which I would prefer to keep but this stopped working after the trans plant and coding work. Could it be the GM5 module no longer excepts the radio signal as the donor car had a infrared system. Researching through wiring diagrams at the moment to see it could be a simple relocation of a wire to a different pin.

What,s wrong with owning a M3 ti with a tow bar would be cool, NOT. The tow bar is to give added protection for those people who run into his behind as they look at the M3 badge and think urrr whats that all about.

Did the person ask for the lock and key? As he could swap his old one and save himself the hassle of having one odd key or is their more to this situation than has been told.
