Cable for Fxx Series Service History Coding
Driftit replied to 318Touring's topic in General Discussion
Really good stuff. It just works. Bit of money for the apps. But they are great. Powerful little tool. -
I use my 1 series for farm duties. It's seats fold down. The road leading to my house is bumpier than my gravel driveway at the moment though.
-
That's actually not that bad. Dump $10K in parts and do it yourself. End up with a hand grenade with the pin pulled haha.

Looks to have run its bearings. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m5/listing/3202805272?bof=5d4EE1K8

Can you not just get the Bimmergeeks gear. It supports FXX, GXX, IXX. Or do you need something special to add the entries? -
Yeah that was it.

Nice E30 at the Carterton station pulled up to pick someone up. Plate NVADER. 17" BBS looking wheels. Not seen it before.
-
Yeah shine a torch down underneath the motor. If you have the LCI cover there is a well under it that slowly fills up. Then it spills over into the next one. Then eventually out and onto the exhaust I guess.

ECS is shipping me a coil pack and a new valvetronic motor gasket for free. With an RMA to ship the old parts back to them. I really didn't expect that as the shipping will be more than the replacements. One way. Great service. Has anyone had trouble with Valvetronic motor gaskets. Mine has a very slow leak. Like 20ml over 2 months. It all gets captured in one of the wells below the valvetronic motor which is nice. Easy to clean up. But I want no leaks!

Can we add cream to that.

Found my intermittent misfire this morning on the way back from Napier. After small stutters for a good hour I had zero codes. Then not far from home the check light came on and I lost a cylinder. I had thought the entire time that it felt like a coil pack starting to die. But as I had new ones I thought it must be something else. Was number 5. Swapped it to one of my good old ones and the problem seems to have been solved. So I don't recommend these coils. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bavarian-autosport-parts/bmw-high-performance-ignition-coil-single-coil/5005~bav/

But mate I spent 2 mins in it with my asthmatic vacuum cleaner. And smeared the dash in the oldest greasiest Amore All I could find in Dads garage.

Cheers. Turns out my neighbours in Featherston who are building their house had their roof blow off on Sunday morning. Freak wind gust of over 170kph ripped it to bits. Roof landed right where my house would be if it was there. It then took off again and hit another neighbours house about 200m away. Fire crew said they have not had wind that strong there for a good 15 years.
-
Yup. 150kph gusts here in Gladstone. Shaking the house. Sheep have all decided it is a great time to have their lambs. Had to go and strap our water tank down in Featherston so I didn't have to collect it from the neighbors. And my sisters Vineyard in the Wairau Valley flooded pretty badly. A lot of damage. Lucky not to the vines or house.

Could have. Sounds nice but a little loud at 5:40am.
-
Ah thought so. Pretty stupid thing to do really BMW.
-
I didn't know this was a thing. My car is loud all the time even at idle. I see that bimmertools can control it. Might see if it still works. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=UD52-EUR-07-2007-E87N-BMW-130i&diagId=18_0667 Also something I have not changed on this car is the fuel filter. Is it located under the car like an E46 or is it part of the float assembly?

Welcome. There is plenty of help available on the forum. BMW's are not too expensive to run in NZ. Most of us import parts from places like FCPeuro or ECMTuning which have excellent prices. There are a number of other great suppliers too. Keep a look out for any group buys to save on shipping. I had a E46 325ci in the US a few years back. Great car. Easy to work on.

I would drive a modernised 2002 EV. I liked that Honda E. But I am not paying $65k for one. A BMW however.

Heard quite a few good things about them. Couple of people on here own there. Promo (Pramod) is a user based in Wellington who can help with all programming needs.

If that information was shared without your knowledge then that's an easy lawsuit win. The only person who would likely sign this information away would be the first owner. Where a contract with the manufacturer would be signed.

Govt Breathes New Life Into "Clean Car" Legislation

Yeah they are going to urgently need to change the liability laws to cover this sort of thing. -
GT86/BRZ rear lights are a bit meh.
