PFL abused 540i for $800

Beautiful M5 Comp at Manfeild on Saturday. Plate M5C Looked and sounded great on the track.

Something different today - anyone recognise this car
Driftit replied to promo's topic in General Discussion
Yeah many years ago it was a contender in the BMW Race series. Good to see it is still about. -
It's also just a C35 Laurel base I think.
-
Yeah I still pay for Motortrend and just use my US CC and a VPN. I watched the first episode but didn't get too pulled into it. I did find it weird that they would have an Englishman on Top Gear America.

$14k....................

I like that power built jack though. Well priced and all my power built stuff is still going. Don't think I have broken any of it in a good 20+ years. My Wayco is too short for 4wds. And too tall for anything else. But I just lined up one of these. Sick of rolling around on the floor and saves putting another bay on the garage for parking space. Somehow I feel the E34 will live on it. https://www.automaster.co.nz/products/peak-p-408p

2 of my cars that were singapore and 1 that was a HK import met the stereotypes. All were terrible vehicles. E36, E39 and a E38. I will always advise to stay away from them.

Spent all Saturday chasing why the Mrs 200SX is running incredibly rich. First time it has been out in 5 years. Did all the usual prep before starting a stored car. It ran pretty well for a short drive then started running way too rich. The last thing I have to check (she has spares for nearly everything) is the dropping resistor for the injectors. So many shortcuts were taken by the dropkick that built the motor in this car. A "Performance" shop in Paraparaumu with a pretty well known bad rep. It's so frustrating not finding the parts you are looking for or finding simple things like grounds not connected. I spose the biggest questions are where the F did the HKS cams go? And how did the head repair the port and polishing that was done?

Yeah that's a bit sh*t. Best thing you could do is leave Auckland. Currently building a house and big shed on a 3500m2 section for less than the cost of a 400m2 section in Auckland. And I'm only an hour on the Bullet train to Wellington.

Hmmm. She has to be very rusty for them to not even want to describe it.

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
Driftit replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
I hate that Bronzit E30. It is everything I don't want an E30 to be. M10 - Check 4 Speed - Check Bronzit - Check Brown Interior - Check 4 Door - Check Hub Caps - Check Keep-Fit Windows - Check Sunroof - Check Ripped Drivers Seat - Check -
Nice pictures. I have a little 4WD to Explore in. But it is nearly standard. And we just putt around on the trails. I'm not trying to get stuck or show off my winch skills. We just want to get away from the crowds. However there are so many trails where I still can't go. Dug out by the raised up, huge 35"+ tyres purpose built trail destroyers. I just can't drive in the ruts of that sh*t. Might have to make the more to 2 wheelers. This is us right around at the end of the Palliser side of the trail at Cape Palliser. It's a cheap odd little 4wd. But still more capable than most modern Utes that haven't had 15K thrown at them. Edit: Oh I should mention that some illegal campers set fire to a good part of the bush a few weeks back. So it might not be so pretty around there at the moment.

Hello, McFly...why did you import that?
Driftit replied to topnotchrally's topic in TradeMe discussions
Yeah..... That crap must owe them at least $5K after shipping and Tax. Wish they would stop bring sh*t like this in. First serious crash because some kid had a head on when trying to pass in his LHD car and the rules will change for us all. -
Your window regulators and controllers haven't gone yet. It's one of those jobs that will tip you over the edge. It will wait until you are comfortable again. Just like the battery. Rubbing it's hands together snickering.

So different now. People have been breaking into the property more and more. The owners actually passed away a few years back. The kids are holding it at the moment. It will be up for sale soon no doubt. Rough country and fun to explore. From the Ngawi side you can go quite far. But sadly all the 4wd warriors in their raised up patrols hoon through there now so the grounds are pretty wrecked. Waterfall is still a great visit though.

I know the owners of the station, Ngapatiki (spelling) it's called. I grabbed the key a few months back and went up to the end in my Rocky. There has been a large slip where the Surf break is and the only vehicles that could cross would be dirt bikes. It's a private station and can't remember it ever not having gates. They have just been reinforced due to break ins.
-
Nope that looks like a car from Need for Speed with the generic WideBody optioned ticked.
-
I'm heading along but will leave the car in the parking lot outside. It's had one wash in 4 months. And I can't get out of my drive without it getting filthy.
-
Yeah a bit sad.

There should be a ton of Youtube how to's on this. If you can't find one for the E87 just follow one for the E90. Should be the same. Actually going by this vid it is slightly different to an E90. E90's don't have the locking tab, If so you may need to cut it off and get a new bolt and nut. Get an E90 style without that tab if you can.
-
That just stops the nut from spinning while you undo the bolt. Also @nick496for those gearbox mounts. Don't tighten them up from the bottom until you have the box sitting on them. But FYI. You are going to feel every little vibration from the drive line. Near solid mounts are really only good on the track.

I had a similar issue with my Valvetronic motor. Replaced it and issue went away. I still have the motor if you want me to send it down to you to play with. Most of the time it was fine.

BMW will contact you via snail mail. When they feel like it. Could give them a call.

It was just waiting for you to get comfortable.
