E30 325i Motorsport (Tech1) written off
Driftit replied to Golfboy666GTI's topic in TradeMe discussions
Keep crashing them. Makes mine go up in value. Slowly. Out of all the BMW's I have driven. I still get the most enjoyment out of the E30. Only one I could imagine that would just as fun would be the 2002. Not considering the M cars of course. And Allan sorry but there is no way in hell a 525 is more economical or faster than an E30. My E30. Open road: 5.8 to 6.1L/100kms Town: 8.9L/100kms. My E30 is only 4 seconds off my 535 race car at hampton. Which is 300kgs lighter than your E39. -
Wow. That is expensive. As Josh said. Make one. http://freematics.com/products/#cate_lcd

Had a towie come past me a few mins ago at the airport. Had a Subaru Legacy behind him on a dolly. Car was making some interesting sounds. That will be $200 Oh and we rooted your car. Not our fault.

The quality of driving by parents picking their kids up from school. The only thing on their mind is getting the best parking spot so their kid doesn't have to walk 1km to home. The Oteha Valley to Constellation Drive stretch of motorway. They spent all this time building what I thought was a new lane to smooth out the 2 lane cluster f**k. It was a bus lane. Which I have yet to see a bus use. There is now also no shoulder now. So if someone breaks down.. It is even bad on the weekend. NEVER put a salesperson in charge of a company. The direction of the company changes for every bloody sales opportunity..

Less tech than an 87 Mitsi Sigma.

At best the head gasket is on its way out. At its worst it could be the block has been cracked from over tightening the head bolts.
-
Just a bitsa. Was expecting a very low km original for that price. It has just about every bolt on you can get. But not close to original at all.
-
Hmm I know a few people after those wheels. Pm me what you are after if you wish to sell. Might be good for Auction.
-
Isn't that a worn out Tech 1 steering wheel? Thought the Mtec2 had a different one.

I have just had a similar thing happen to me. But we dealt with it a different way. I didn't go running to the media after the issue had been resolved like the tosser in the "article" did. We supplied all the data to the owner. Let him have his say and a bit of time to look at the situation. We got a written apology from the employee that had breached our trust and the law. It happened to be a 19 year old mechanic. If we had supplied the data to the police he would have lost his licence for at least 12 months. 158kph. The owner couldn't apologize enough. He was quite embarrassed by it all. We were given our money back for all the work that had been completed. Although the owner is responsible for his staff. He can't stop them from making mistakes. This kid made a pretty big mistake and cost his employer business. I doubt he will be doing it again anytime soon knowing how close he came to loosing his job and his licence. Because of this I had no interest in sharing the info with the Media or the Police. It would ruin his business. And that is just not fair. You need to be careful these days. With the focus on Health and Safety more and more vehicles are having telematics devices installed into them. Police are using this data as evidence quite frequently now. I work for a telematics company. I often see drivers being let go for excessive speed. And am getting more and more requests from Police to supply data from crashes.

I have a 2005 E60 530D Motorsport for sale for $16Kono. It has higher kms but being a well maintained diesel it doesn't really matter. Superior economy and torque over the petrol equivalents. Over 1000kms per tank with nearly the same performance as the petrol's. http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/53251-2005-e60-530d/ Otherwise Milan on this forum has his 530i Wagon for sale. Very high spec. http://www.trademe.co.nz/910151148

Really? Last time I had asymmetric tyres I purchased left and rights. Was a while back on my old 180SX but I am sure I have a picture of the ass end somewhere that shows it.

Selling the 530D. Brilliant car. We are upgrading to another BMW. http://www.autotrader.co.nz/used-cars-for-sale/bmw-530d/1450585 $16K ono PDF of build sheet attached. bmwarchive_org_b339826.pdf

Is that front right tyre on backwards or is that just the way the tread pattern goes?

Parked next to this nice 7 series in Sky city the other week.
-
Has the right motor and sounds like a good amount of money was spent on it. But yeah it looks much worse off in those photos. Would be worth a look.
-
That is actually a really good point. I would definitely ask insurance for their opinion. Modified vehicles can pay a lot more. But I guess an M5 is not your average car anyway.
-
Sorry Murch. I have a very light E34. It is not nimble compared to cars that are traditionally considered nimble. The E34 is only 100kg heavier than my E30 race car yet it feels like it is 300kgs heavier. However it is much quicker than the E30 even without the turbo.

What I saw in that video was why the English are leaving their own country in droves. Is good for NZ though. Welcome.

Are you happy or unhappy with the deal? -
Really? It is some of the best light entertainment around. You could always go watch come dine with me. Or one of those other great kiwi reality rip off's that flood our TV. For an actual car review you can't go past Chris Harris. He is also entertaining.

Have a 530D Motorsport Sedan if you are interested.
