What in the holy heck happened to that clutch disc?!
-
Is it engine out to do the gaskets, or is there enough space to do them in the car? That might be the deciding factor if you need to yank it anyway.
-
"engine damage" Franklin looks 100x better with the Euro plates though.
-
Bloody tragedy. Still, great donor...

Better buy them a Corolla then π€£

An engine swap dream π

I've heard it called the "mermaids" class on Facebook π€£

They're really only good for things like body panels, and maybe some interior bits after a thorough cleaning and sanitizing. All electrics will be trash, and anything mechanical would need a strip down to ensure its not full of water/mud/corrosion. As said, the majority will never be on the road again, it's far too hard to satisfy the requirements, especially when it comes to newer cars with airbags, in which all of them, and their control units, need to be replaced.

Really needs a leak down test to confirm where the compression is escaping
-
That's dodgy. It's worth more than 10k in parts alone.
-
To clarify, a dog leg box would have first where second is, and reverse where first is. Usual trick is people putting it into reverse at stop lights, instead of first.
-
Doesnt have a sunroof through, so if its leaking its probably just the door vapour barriers... which is something i guess. I do agree its overpriced for a non-running UK import oddity, even with the manual box. Would be a great car once running, and in a good spec/colour though. Being a UK import, is it 122k KM or Miles?

Id tend to avoid the N53 just because it has most of the same issues as the N54 (induction system excepting), without the benefit of being turbo. Better off finding an N52 one.
-
I still want it, but my bank account doesnt π€£ I wouldnt be surprised if you could import a better condition, but probably still rusty, 911 from the UK for less.

dodgy WTF is going on here, two ads, two prices, two sellers, same car
KwS replied to Kodachrome's topic in TradeMe discussions
Its interesting to note the newer listing has the rego obscured, whilst the original one doesnt. Bryans profile looks like utter trash too, reposting bullshit. I honestly dont know who i would trust more π€£ I tried reverse image search on Liyans profile images and nothing comes up, but the profile is pretty generic. -

I see this A LOT on market place. I presumed it was the original seller not removing the listing and the new seller flipping the car quickly and with minimal effort. Marketplace is trash. -
I miss the days when you could pick up an auto 850ci for 10-12k. It wasnt even that long ago. I wish i bought one.

Take all the stickers and sh*t off it, and it'll probably look quite nice

Oh, and the reduced limit is really helping... https://www.1news.co.nz/2023/02/06/person-dies-following-2-vehicle-crash-in-carterton/

I bought a xmas present for my wife late Nov. DHL carried it from the states, handed it to Aus post (but why?), who according to tracking have had it sitting in NZ since xmas day, and its gone nowhere since. I emailed Aus post about it, they basically said "its an untracked service and too bad if its missing lol, ask for a refund from the seller". How did I know where it is? The tracking details. WTF.

KwS replied to Harper's topic in General Discussion
Just to point out the obvious, but the ones for sale are because they havent sold.... The ones for 775nzd on the M3 forum for instance, have been listed for over a year. -
That bubbling tint though, that right there is +5 HP.

R56 Cooper S - buying advice/recommendations
KwS replied to SmithyInWelly's topic in Other European Cars
From my research when I was looking at them, the general consensus was to avoid the N14 and go straight to the facelift N18, unless you have receipts covering all the common issues the N14 has (Mainly timing chain, carbon build up, turbo oil line and valve stem seals). Main thing is that it doesnt rattle, and doesnt smoke, as they're the two most "obvious" issues. -
A Fit/Jazz isnt a very good comparison, they're a tardis and have very good interior space for their size.
