  1. If you order a new set of govt plates you will get a new number (only personalized plates can be remade). Keep the old 2 letter plate, it's more in keeping with the age of the car.

    Miles or kms?

Even carjam has it recorded down as Miles. I applaud the dealer for not just trying to pass it off as KM, but still a bit sketchy with the cluster saying KM.
  3. I've got to ask, because im curious, what is wrong with it? It seems like a damn good price, is it rusty?
  4. illegal placement too, the towball cannot obscure the number plate (had issues with that before). I love weird cars being used to do things like tow trailers, but not even im down with that.
  5. Got it as a trade for a car i couldn't sell (niche market), thinking it would be easier to sell. It wasn't. Worst decision I've made in a long time.
  6. Avoid like the plague, they're hateful things when they inevitably go wrong. Thankfully mine sold before i got more temped to set fire to it. Every trip in that car was anxiety inducing, waiting to hear that BLING of another fault popping up. It is a lot of car and a lot of tech for the money, but they are old now, and were unreliable when new.
  7. All mercs look the same as they have for the past 5 or so years. It's safe and it's boring, but it's almost impossible for anyone to know you're driving the latest model, so big loss of status symbol points there.
  8. Its ugly as sin, but TBH its better looking than most of their current lineup, like this abortion of a thing
  9. Ive been pounding on a supercheap DA for years now (one of the green ones) and it still goes hard. Its done some pretty hard work. I did change the backing plate for a standard 5" one to use normal size Hexlogic pads, which was available on ebay. Not sure if they still use the bigger backing plate.
  10. Welcome. They're a nice car to drive, especially in MSport package, a much more advanced and comfortable platform than a MK4 golf im sure. One thing to be wary of though, is the 4 cylinder engines in the 320i dont have a good reputation. Keep it well serviced, and always keep some money aside for if/when it goes wrong.
  11. That black valve cover is looking real good. Should take the top of the intake manifold off and paint that to match too.
  12. It says ALPINA on the intake and 3.4 on the fuel rail cover. Not sure what more you want, AliExpress alpina badges everywhere? Alpina cars are pretty subtle really.
  13. No it doesn't? M54 doesn't have the single big vanos lump in the front. It looks like an M52, which the S52 is based off.
  14. Didnt even know Alpina did a Z4; thats cool. Using a modified S52B32 too. There is always one though...
  15. The center bore can be fixed using hubcentric rings, but you cant fix the stud pattern issue without either running adaptor spacers, or redilling the wheels. I'd suggest getting wheels that fit, in the correct PCD. https://www.wheel-size.com/size/bmw/3-series/1976/
  16. It was real obvious when my LPFP was packing a sad, there was a direct correlation in the HP rail pressure dropping when the low pressure dropped, i dont see that in your logs. I'd say the HPFP is more likely. Your rail pressure drops to just over 100psi at one point, whilst the low pressure side just keep trying to feed more pressure in, getting to almost 100psi on the low pressure side alone, you wouldnt see that if the LPFP was on its way out.
  17. Ah yup, so he is basically talking up other cars forsale then... "The pleasing shape from any angle, especially in M-Tech trim." Because sorry buddy, that aint M-Tech in any way, shape or form.
  18. I seems to recall a local member went and checked it out a couple of years ago and it was farked. I dont goto palmy often, but will pop in next time im that way.
  19. Dont forget where the chains are too.... between the engine and trans 🤣 Great looking barges though. Quite understated.
  20. Oh man, thats my perfect E39 M5 spec... Oxford over Caramel, wood grain, sport seats I feel like being pre-2000 might harm its value a bit? I guess if you're after an M5, especially in that spec, it might not matter, but to most people pre-2000 is the redhead step child you dont want.

    Quick rant thread.

"but if you dont support NZ companies you are a bad person blah blah" Yeah, stop price gouging us and we wont buy it from overseas then.
  22. That sucks, i really hope its found and in good shape The whole "ownership" system in NZ is shite. Anyone can change any car into anyones name, and it doesnt matter. A seller doesnt even have to fill out their paperwork in order to confirm anything, only the buyer has to do their end. I could "own" every car on this forum if i wanted, it'd just cost me $9 each and some time on the NZTA site.
  23. Whilst its kinda cool, its a car i would want to drive once and give the keys back to the owner never to think about it again. The badging is also cringe as all heck.
  24. Thats the problem with the pricing. A good one is worth that, a rough one isnt, but there are so few on the market at any one time they can kinda ask what they want. I miss the days where they were trading for 20-25k.

    Quick rant thread.

*555 does actually work if the driving is dangerous. I *555'd what im sure was a drunk driver who was all over the road, and sure enough they got flagged down by a cop car that was waiting for them further up the road.
