Make sure when your searching that the search selection is on forums not news or something like that. Also Invision Board doesnt support small 3 letter word searches for database performance. Which is hella annouying when everything is 318, BMW or M62 etc

Wait till the schools realise one of their puples has a zoo connection ....

Not exactly a BMW. Helped a mate out remove a snapped bolt in one of the heads of his GC8 WRX v3. I love my mill ... makes doing this sort of stuff effortless.

Make sure (when replacing wires) you use the correct gauge wire .. EG match the thickness of the metal part of the wire you're replacing.

A date with a tooth brush, some resene revive and new plastics wouldnt go a miss in the engine bay. Cheap fixes for easier command of price. No body really likes a dirty engine bay.

GST threshold at the moment is $400NZD _including_ shipping. Anything above that take the total NZD (incl shipping) and x 1.15 = your amount incl GST. That doesnt account for customs handling fees, but thats why you use a non third world carrier like DHL or FedEX as they have customs agents in NZ landing depots. Instead of paying NZ customs for tax on top of tax mis 'handling fees' . even so .. all of this for top end tires is exponetionally cheaper than the importers here. Which seems to be the case with a lot of importers these days. I love it when you can just go-around these days.

Why does an e46 get a 4 star ANCAP safety rating when it previously had a 5 star rating & and a 2015 Suzuki Swift which failed its independent crash test result get a 5 star ANCAP rating? I know the answer to this .. and it has nothing to do with safety.

Yeah anyways ... tirerack.com still have PSS super sports for $347 USD + tax + shipping each so looking just over 1k landed... not too bad for 20s. Will be here in 3-4 days. Then around 20 per wheel to fit. Will be new rubber, not new old stock. actually just banged in the full set.. $2400 NZD inc shipping and tax by the last lot of tires I got off them. Still cheaper than 4k which is what tire shops hear will want for them.

Yeah I had a bad experience with auto trans as well .. They just wanted to walk away from the job despite spending north of 7k with them at the time. Long ass story but was less than impressed with the outcome. In the end I work through my problem at the time myself ... and learnt a lot in the process. Turns out they stuffed the valve body putting it back in which cause mine to thump. (on my e46 330) As for 540i trans .. the source of all evil is cooling issues. The EGS will hold gears when the system is running over 138 degrees. Live data will show this. Unfortunately a lot of generic trans shops dont have the proper software to read the data stream in an EGS. Blockages are a problem in the 540 trans. its not a great design ... works great when its working .. but not when its not. Also, what helps sometimes is if your EGS apaptions are reset .. in warm or cold weather periodically this can help calm things down a bit on a older trans.

Just order them and stick the standard wheels and tires back on for a while .. had to do this on my 330 with its 19s once ... you get use to get it even if you die a little inside.

380,000ks on the e30 ... everythings has been replaced mind you. In other news, replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses again on the 540i ... gotta love that design. Qaulity. These ones lasted 70,000ks

on alloy threads do it by feel ... you can feel when youve tighten it enough. Never had a problem with a bolt backing off using this method, even on an engine environment. Beats stripped threads. Most factory torque settings are for brand new metal. Something to keep in mind. Also especially on alloy, thread surface deformation is a real issue if your bolting and unbolting a lot. If youre having issues getting a bolt to not seating itself you can always glue the bitch in with loc-tite. Its better than a busted thread. You can use the weak sauce loc-tite for this.
