If you want to go faster get and m5. If you want to drive back roads, stick with the m3. Maybe send it to ray for some fettling,
-
Quite a good techincal video on fastening. Some of you wont be into this sort of thing, but its a good must for anyone building up a car. enjoy
-
Driven all, including the e92 m3 then CSL right afterwards on the back roads of whitford. CSL hands down.

Mistake can happen to anyone. Hell I remember after a year away from the track, I was doing the corkscrew at hampton and gave it too much jandle in the e30 and tank slapped pretty hard and nearly ended up in the wall. I forgot what it was like to catch snap oversteer with slicks on.
-
Probably can do one better as I drive a lot of m3s all the time of all types. E46 is more planted on the road in the twisties ... its very forgiving but still has the fun factor. The e36 will feel slightly more nimble up to about 80%, but beyond this is where the e46 shines. The throttle response takes a bit to get use too with drive by wire, however it has a lot of hidden benefits over the s50b3x engines. The s50 is more of a raw engine which I personally prefer however the e46 chassis and interior sh*ts all over the e36. Having a tuned (not just mapped) s54 makes a lot of difference also. It brings back a lot of the 'softening' BMW programmed into the MSS54 DME.

Have a wee look at this .. explains how it can happen.
-
Road down to Stillwater and back, motorsport silver e36 328?i ... was giving the e46 touring/s54 a good old test drive and was behind you.
-
Fair enough on the $$$ .... there is a bit of a difference between VAC road stuff and the DTM parts conrad has. Hence the price.
-
Am on holiday .. come over. Will clip oscilloscope on to the DME input and see whats really going on.
-
Save a few more K and get an s50b32, computer and gearbox.
-
Front is evo 2 rep. You can buy evo 3 carbon bits here in NZ from conrad. http://www.m3motorsport.co.nz

JPS M3s, Longhurst and Jim Richards enjoy

Haha yeah been super busy with house stuff etc. Got some more updates coming soon for it in the build thread but some shipping didnt arrive in time for the holidays so will look into it end of this month.
-
Yeah sounds good. Name a time and we can look to get something together with the usual suspects. Ah cool .. yeah try to take the e30 out to the shops every now and again for a run. Especially in this weather we're having now.
-
Ahh yep, in the 540 ?
-
Spotted dave (m3an) yesterday in northcote.
-
Awesome work dude... I looked at doing the same thing to my e30 7-8 years a go but it was gonna be about 25k to just do the body work. I stopped at the engineering bits. I noticed you got evo3 front guards .... nice. PS do a nice bright colour ... black is played out.
-
They look perfect. No erosion on anode or cathodes and are a nice matte gray. When the soot up is usually oil accumulation in the intake from hot oil / vapor or loose plugs.
-
Pretty much everything BMW or remotely related has been posted before .. still some things are worth the repost
-
dunno man, my road wheels = 21kg each, my track wheels = 16.4kg with tires. It made 2 seconds difference to lap times. After several laps = a pretty big gap.

Yep ... Storage has an area, at any point it starts to creep out side of that area then I have to finish older projects. Works well
