Sorry, Old post to reply to... I have an Earls one. 10AN fittings. https://www.earls.co.uk/earls/coolers/tempacure.html went a little bit overboard on cooling components and expense on it http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/24294-operation-weapons-grade/page-37#entry588597 gay about your gearbox ... all good though im sure youll build something a lot stronger.

Loved my time there 3 or so years ago. Got to meet my hero the original p60b40 powered VDO e46 GTR. Its a cool place, and a must see. We were lucky to book the factory tour. The factory tour is quite eye opening. You think that its a well oiled machine being BMW but there plenty of production line blunder going on when we were walking through.

Mate, we were with AMI had been a loyal customer for ages , Since the aussies bought them all of the value in what you actually get has been stripped out of their policies. They came back with a quote that was more expensive when we bought our house. Talked to a few ppl about AA, and nothing but bad experiences. We ended up going with Vero, not only where they cheaper but the fine print and extras all stacked up. Even phoned up a couple of panel beaters to see what they were like to deal with come claim time for car. Theyve been good for the couple of claims we have made so far on contents.

I have edited my mss50 32kb binary and switched catalytic heating off in the calibration space. Basically I have taken the good bits from the ZA calibration and kept the EU tune as for a road car you cant get much better than the EU map calibration. Race car you can get more power as the coolant conditions are a known entity. IE doesnt trigger knock. Mine only has 2 pre cat o2 sensors. No post cat system for the mss50 3.18 software.
-
Yep your right, sorry I typed post not pre. I meant pre.

Cats and pre cat O2 sensors are two different things as far as the DME is concerned. Removing the O2 sensors will remove closed loop operation. It will cause the DME to default to a lookup table for fueling. No more power is gained by removing them. In some circumstances power will be lost as it will run more rich as a fail safe. Removing cats are a different story. Removing cats will increase exhaust flow however it will remove back pressure. You will get a short term gain from cat removal in the top end however this can offset torque with the removal of back pressure. The DME has cold start pre-cat warm up program and other emissions (SAP) and EGR programs which can be switched off by a competent tuner. You can remove the DTC function from the DTC table. Again a proper tuner should be able to do this. In my MSS50 I have removed pre-cat warm up, SAP program and EGR. I have also have also changed my flag to no catalytic converter and removed the related DTCs. I do however have my o2 sensors installed so I can retain closed loop driving conditions. My cats have been removed as I run straight pipes to a back box I also removed and blanked off and removed my secondary air pump and connecting hoses. I have programmed my DME to handle it all and to remove cold start issues. **Edited for correctness... few sleepless nights lately. Babys are fun.

Well seeing as they are an ex WTCC car and the series for this chassis type doesn't exist I would think it easily fits into the historic category quite easily. They haven't been raced as WTCC for around 10 years. They seem to race in demo races and I have seen one of them (the green one) run the 1? hour endurance race when we were running team at the event.
-
Yeah theyre floating around ... normally race in the Group-A and Historics Touring car classes from time to time.

Seriously badass. Hmmm might have to get my helmet done
-
All good, jamez has been spraying water on it instead, seems legit.
-
The press cars are the ones you want to go for ... non standard DME software runs rampant
-
Ive done it on an e46. it was 6k for the rebuild, new gearbox was 6.5k. second hand 1.8k. even if you had to do it again, its still way cheaper and makes more sense.
-
Needs manual programming which needs a whole lot of other things connected as making it all work correctly outside of the vehicle on the bench isnt trivial. Sweet concept, and would go super well.

everyone has a lathe. chuck it in 2nd on jackstands with a file

I think thats been the problem, 5x120 fits commodore so lots of our decent wheel stock has gone through the buthole of trademe and out the otherside. Both my sets of LMs where in similar order when I got them and I restored them both back to mint. The only redeeming factor is you can get them for cheap when they look like this. Nice work on the resto.
