Pre FL you need a low pressure high volume pick up pump covering the tank to swirl pot part. Then use the main high pressure low volume pump to move fuel from the swirl pot to the filter-> regulator -> fuel rail. The return from the rail needs to come back to the swirl pot. If you hard mount a after market pump, it ill make lots of noise otherwise you can soft mount it externally with no issues. Use teflon coated fuel lines... dont just use standard fuel line else youll have a fuel smell in the internal parts of the car.

You can disable it in the DTC table so it wont come up in the scan. There is also a bit value to bypass the feature in the calibration sector.

Cops and the 4 kmh over posted speed limits

There is talk of raising certain newer roads to 110 based on newer 'safer' roads. But also talk of lowering others. People should stop fiddling and just concerntrate on advanced skid training, tires and suspension. Problems solved. That and banning ling longs / triangles -
Nice work Tom. Yeah some cowboys out there for sure. Glad the outcome was all good in the end.

Have run it on several cars for the past 10 years ... no issues ever. Infact Jamez ran it for 4 years in his race car that only ever saw extreme conditions, engine started with 80,000ks on it ... and was compeditive and still had all factory hoan marks when he dismantelled it for a routine rebuild. This meant that he didnt actually need to rebuild it. I wouldnt believe everything youre told on the internet or around some traps. I prefer to rely on proven race performance. At the end of the day as long as you select a good mid range oil which is matched to you temprature condition of where you live (again a non issue in New Zealands mild temprature range) and you maintain oil change schedules you car will last you 300-500ks easy. I would be more worried about cam lobe wear than bearing failure in this case. I think Polly summed it up once in a thread, buy some bloody oil, change the filter, do an oil change, close the bonnet and just go enjoy your car.
-
In real world terms - I don't think generally it has anything to really do with the oil you put in your car, its more to do with how its driven (cold startup etc) and neglect as to why bearings fail. The 'going bang' issue was more a oil starvation issue with the reversed sump and oil pickup design under hard braking and transition to cornering. The S engines have tighter tolerances than normal but most oil that OEMs choose is more based on stability under longer service intervals than out right performance under extreme conditions.

Will get Tom's attention to this thread. As he has the gear to do the chip replacement method We have restored ecus before that are deemed 'dead' over obd. If not the last way is to dump the a new flash onto the rom chips directly. The ecu can be realigned to your ews... all this really needs to be done in car ideally as its a bitch trying to do it on the bench. Ews ignition cut can be disabled if it's really a problem.

After being bailed into the passenger seat and enthusiatically being taken around the track for a 1:15 laptime with James at the wheel. James chuck me the keys and I went out at the end of the session. It felt like a natural change from my e30/s50 to this so my learning curve wasnt too steep... not quite having the same confidence as james' 160kph power slide around turn 6 I can say this thing allows you to reaaaaly push it and still feel like your safely doing what you want. Its a really amazing chassis. With some race seats + suspension tweaks and lightening up .. I cant see much touching it on the handling vs power front

I would get the badges, redo them slightly to the left a bit and fix the f**kup with the height of them. Then send the dealer a bill for my time. Pissed ant built the jig for that badge. -

What happened is the 50d motorsport X5 was marketed as an M car (like the m5 or m3) Everone thought they were going to call it the X5M .. but it kind of got badged with that rubbish on the back. Its what happens with the marketing department get involved in anything.... blanket confusion -
