Looking good. I saw another e46 with the same kit in taupo recently. Was red and looked horrible. But i think the darker blue makes it look awesome. Also as far as getting told about polishes... It not a girl thing. Its a nz thing. I sell the stuff at work and i very very rarely find people who know what they are doing. Most peoples expectations are tofix 10 years of abuse by spray on wipe off. Or at the other end someone with a light swirl mark in a new cars wants hard cutting compound and a grinder based polisher. It all comes down to paying for good product and spending the time doing it right. Dont get me started on painting. People want a perfect paint match but wont do sanding priming prepping wet sanding or polsihing. they again just want spray and walk away. Sorry for the hijack.

Doesnt matter if it will pass or not. What matters is it will void insurance. And it will make anyone involved look like a turkey if things go pear shapped. Is there a better systen than cert plates? Yes Will we ever get there when the sunday herald readers are being convinced that every car without a cert plate will give every other motorist cancer upon looking at it? Dont think so. And it will likely need driveshaft hoops which is actually the mist rediculous cert requirement out there.

Mostly the m52. Obviously the 2.0 >2.5 isnt going to overwhelm the factory setup but it does breach the limits for a cert. I know alot of people in australia who are not even allowed to add a pod filter. I hate the fact that the media will pick on modifcations first. Look at the news tonight drunk driver in a turbo honda with no skills crashed and killed people. A cert wouldnt have saved them as he was still going to be doing 200kph+ on a damp road drunk. But the media went on about how the lack of cert was the issue. Its things like that which will kill the already relaxed rules.

Its a good thing bmw designed their suspension with that much power, torque and weight distribution in mind

They could tell if they are glazed up. Warped needs to be spun around with a gauge attached. If yoybare doing pads get them skimmed. Especially if they have lots if life left. Otherwise shop around you can get new rotors at quite reasonable prices now

I was getting at the people who say " dont worry about a cert the wof guys never notice" people can make their own choices but dont encourage people to break the law.
-
So many people are adamant about needing insurance for their car then openly ignore the laws around certs which will void insurance. Is a kid stuck a sr20det into a 1.6l sentra and killed someone wheb the brakes failed everyone would call him a moron yet every other conversion thread on here promotes doing just that. I dont want to start arguements here as the thread isnt about that but ive got no time for people who think the fact they own a socket set makes them smarter that the law makers.

Good luck with the search. Im not sure how far swapping for parts will take you. I have seen some of these boxes listed for over 2500 each

Yea really stupid and insulting that americans think that sueing is part of the recover process. Theres a women there that hit a kid and killed him when she was txting and driving. She is now sueing the dead victim for emotional trauma. stupid. Also porsche can probably say that the american authoritys approved it for sale so it falls on them

Haha yea forgot to say that. Resets when you disconnect battery. Ive used it on a couple of cars ive considered buying to check everything from alternator voltage to coolant temps. And the display check to find missing pixels.

Original spec calls for oil leaks. Wonder if that will dent the pride to much or will originality win out -
Depending on what system you have my exeriances may help. Ive had an e34 shake under brakes due to a worn steering box. This also gave some slop in steering. I believe they can be tightened. Have also had thrust arms in the e38 and e39 cause the same thing. Basically under brakes the wheel moves back enough to give either zero castor or negative castor. Castor keeps the wheels centered so no or megative allpws wheels to start skirting around. This was more evident under heavy braking. A quick stab of brakes at 60kph resulted in a thunk souns as the arms shot back and took up the slack of soft rubber. Other test is brake hard to a stop in front of a friend. Only from 30kph or so. Come to a stop and hold the brakes on hard. Pull handbrake then release brakes. See if front wheel jumps forward. My e38 wheels would jump forward about 35mm which is alot

I thing one of the big things that make any 4x4 capable off road is the ability not to be wrecked if and when it bottoms out. So fuel lines, electrics tucked away etc. Everyone gets stuck but it has to survive being dragged out.

Yup agree with steve. Lots of vibration which is bad for brass which most fitting seem to be made of. either flex line or stainless fittings. Remote mount is bad for temp readings but fine for pressure

Yea 458. They actually sound quite deep and boomy most of the time. And those rear lights are very 458 looking.

Go to ltnz and click try to register. Enter license details then rego plate. At that point it says please check as license has been cancelled. Easy check

Probably too late. Saw a thing recently where an american guy remade parts of the 13b rotary and increase idle efficiency by like 60% and overall efficiency by 16%. Also reduced exhaust gas temps by 600'F great stuff but two decades too late.

Have txt him about how to check but he is sticking to the story that the postshop guy said its fine so he doesnt believe me. Hope noone gets caught out to bad. I believe that he didnt know but if he gets told and still goes through with sale it makes him a tool

Just got a reply from the owner. fairly rude and denied its degreg and said its already sold. despite me saying i have have checked with ltnz he doesnt believe me. I told him how how to check and that the new owner has bought something worth scrap value. Also added that i hope he has enough of an ethic to check and tell new owner the truth
