  1. Only 140 000km too. Damn... wonder if it was abused or poorly maintained.
  2. LOL who thought that exhaust looked good... made me think it was a fake M3. There's a few odd things there. The M3 badge has a tiny '3', a few interior bits are wrapped in some fake CF vinyl or they are some cheap ebay specials, and the air intake pipe is some aftermarket piece. Overpriced unless it's really had all the worn bushings, rod bearings and crap replaced. Edit: And is that some kind of cover on the front bumper fog lights? Looks weird to me.
  3. HellBM seem to be the go-to for the subframe. BMWorkshop are another good place that can do or arrange just about anything you'd need done.
  4. What are the intake temps at that point? Edit: Peaks at about 56 degrees C. Hmm maybe it's just the tune isn't great... I'd want to back this tune up and try the MHD OTS stage 1 tune. Or 1+ if you upgrade the intercooler. Either way I wouldn't want to keep driving the car hard like this.

    Cheap leather fix

Hmm yeah did a bit of googling, and your car should have nappa leather while mine has merino so not exactly the same. Colour looks similar in the pics though. My wear is pretty minor so slightly less than perfect is still acceptable I think

    Cheap leather fix

Woah, result looks good. Got a little bolster wear in the M4, think I might give this a shot. Does it seem reasonably durable? Can you feel/see that it's there?

    Stress. Anxiety.

Good IT experience can be a ticket to a high paying job in Sydney or Melbourne... you might be able to step back from management and still get paid more, if you're willing to relocate. Banks and finance related companies (eg financial trading) pay very well. Nasdaq for example have some jobs there...
  8. I'm sure they've been logging that long before, although it's probably just recorded locally in the car. My M4 is connected to the cellphone network and I can use an app to check its location, lock/unlock, start the aircon, flash the lights. I imagine the newer ones have more features...
  9. Looks like an overall cheaper/budget car compared to the previous version :/ Please let the M2 look good...
  10. Oh I missed that 😮 Correct that means no CF roof and a bit less headroom. You need the extra headroom when wearing a helmet on the track too.
  11. Dropped asking price down to 80k, maybe this will get some more attention. Although this guy is listing a 2017 M4 competition back with half the mileage at 82k or near offer... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3162659472?bof=LMYWmQmw That's a damn good deal I have to admit, it's a UK import but at that milaege who cares 😮
  12. When looking at the aftermarket wheels sold in NZ, I could never find real information on the manufacturers and how or where their wheels were made. I wont pay thousands for wheels that, for all I know, are all made in China to low standards. Apex are a US based company that make great wheels for BMWs. you can import them or order though Speedfactor. Or look on tirerack for some good wheels and then look for a freight forwarder to bring them in. Have a look on Trademe too, you might find some nice used ones or some local supplier selling the reputable brands.
  13. Oh that's good to know! Not sure I'll get a chance now as I'm planning to move to Aus. But if I get the time I'll check that out!
  14. There are autocross events in Christchurch? 😶
  15. Maybe you can score a second hand one on Ebay.
  16. The turbo V8 M6 is a car I'd consider if I did a lot of long distance driving. Would be such an awesome road trip weapon, although it will make you curse the speed limits IMO it looks way better than the M8. One of BMWs best designs.
  17. LOL. Reminds me when I was having a bit of fun pushing my 335i on a twisty rural road, and some madman towing a boat tried to keep on my tail. I backed off because I was scared he'd crash lol.
  18. Oh and since you mentioned a GR... there was a Yaris GR on Sat lapping within one second of me. Those things are so much faster than you'd expect 😮 On a previous trackday I had one managing to stay right on my tail for an entire session.
  19. Yeah, I expected the track day question would come up so I figured I'd just make it clear from the start with the photos so anyone who has issues with track use can steer clear! Besides, it still has a BMW warranty and they're fine with track use with the M cars. The dealer made it clear to me that track use is fine, but be careful with mods as any kind of tune is a big nono 😁 I don't hide anything. I've got plenty of footage too that I've been meaning to edit and put on Youtube. I timed my last 2 sessions on Sat, best lap time was 1:41.45 in cold slightly damp weather and GPS speed topped out at 215KPH. Although I'm pretty sure I've gotten close to 230kph on another day, and I probably have better laptimes in previous sessions with better weather 😁
  20. Maybe see about adding a captcha for new user sign-ups if there isn't one already, and a temp block on whatever country the IPs originate from if it lasts for a while.
  21. Has nobody offered her a ride yet? Lol had the same and have hit the report button on it.
  22. I've had to do a fair bit of reading up. It's straightforward-ish but you need to make sure you read up on the requirements. You can't just buy a car and take it over, you have to be moving to Aussie with the intent to live there, you have to have owned and used the car for at least one year ect. The duties also make it very expensive. For my car, depending on how they value it, I'm looking at around 15-20k all up. Sounds crazy high, however the cars are also more expensive there. If I take that into account, plus the fact that I might not get a good price trying to sell it here, the fact that buying an unknown used car is a risk and I might have trouble finding my ideal spec at a good price... it still doesn't seem like a totally stupid idea to ship it Their import laws do indeed make bugger-all sense now that they have no local car production. And some job it did at saving their car industry lol. But they seem to love their duties and taxes, as well as all kinds of laws and fines a hell of a lot more than Kiwis!
