  1. 300-400kg and 0-100 in 6.8 instead of 6.0 according to the specs I read. The 535i is pretty heavy already. Sure it ain't no race car but it'll do the job. Specs say the 35d and 35i have the same performance as well. And calculating off the spec fuel consumption and today's fuel and RUC prices they cost the same to run. The N55 is a reasonably efficient motor for a 3.0 turbo.
  2. N55 is fine. Oil leaks are common but otherwise good. Should be enough tug in one to get an X5 moving, it works fine in the 535i and would be totally fine on the open road.
  3. I think the answer is sometimes. I have had a decent run with budget tyres in the last few years. And yeah, aged tyres are the biggest no no.
  4. Interesting. The E89 hardtop looks decent, as you say, I guess they figured that would cover both bases. Will also be interesting to see what 7% mortgage rates do to car prices in the next year as peoples mortgages roll over.
  5. Nice. Oof the nostalgias generated from this thread. I'd love to get a new old TA03 kit. I had one as a teenager and it was super cool with the front mounted engine. Love/hate relationship with these things though as I would always kill the brushes in the motors and never be able to get them to go well again, or have the money to sort it out.
  6. Awesome man, live the dream.
  7. Yeah much better price. Reckon the price of diesel at the moment has taken a shine off them though.
  8. 50 grand is G30 540i money though, and they are a far more modern car. I know there aren't any wagons listed at present, but I have seen a couple pass through for that. Anyway, yeah the OP is nice but is 20 grand over priced.
  9. NZ new just means it's worn out and covered in stone chips.
  10. I'll sell you mine for half that. Imperial blue over grey. And that would be overpriced!
  11. I reckon the 328i touring is a solid choice if you need to keep an eye on economy. My 535i is rather frugal once it's out on the open road, the 328i should be more so. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/328i/listing/3552299394?bof=t8nrTqd7
  12. CLA180/250 Is the Levorg really not a good handler? Surprising.
  13. Upgrades the control arms from 130i to M3 control arms.

On my Mas I prefer the tyres to have a nice bright black shine. On the BMW I'm happy with a dark matte black finish.
  15. Don't like the mats. Love the leather, awesome colour and material.
  16. Costs are pretty shitty if things wear out. 4 throttle/idle actuators are a grand a pop, knock sensors $500 a pop. Depends how much you end up needing to replace, you might not have to do much or you might get a string of dumb things letting go. And if you are near bearing replacement mileage then that's a reasonable sum. Things I didn't like about my M5: The transmission is sh*t, they don't sound as good inside as outside, the fuel consumption is gnarly easily the worst I have owned. Other than that, pretty good to drive.
  17. Both the Nilfisks I got had issues. 1 pump failure and 1 the pressure switch is dicked. They appear to have come back as Gerni. I bought the cheap Bunnings Ozito brand one and it works just dandy. Visually it appears to be the same as a Ryobi.
  18. Looks like a sick deal for $5k but a dealer will give you a sh*t sandwich for it and expect you to enjoy.

    Quick rant thread.

Refuse all you like, but now you know what one looks like.
  20. That OZ 130i is pretty much perfect spec. White on brown, manual, sunroof, facelift.
  21. Use to be with AA and the service at claim time was always good. However State gave me a much cheaper online quote and AA said they don't price match so I went to State.
