Might be up your alley? https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3460384945.htm -
Car got a mini overhaul this week with @BMTHUG - Timing belt & tensioner / drive belts, water pump / thermostat / coolant / crank seal / rocker cover gasket / rocker shaft seals / spark plugs and Valve adjustment. Car is running great, little smoother, bit less chattery and perhaps even a placebo 2.5whp. Just gotta do my fluids then time to get on with suspension, interior, wheels and cosmetic stuff.

Or you could buy this E24 for $170,000 and use the $40,000 leftover to buy an 1987 318i Sedan. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m6/listing/3457422795

Awesome, hard to beat the E type as a base!

I had a little chuckle to myself when I realised my 389,000km E30's odometer wasn't working 🤣 Need to fix it for the 400,000km Photo Op. -

$22K if its tidy. I wouldn't be paying through the nose on a 'low kms' E30 as it basically just means its been sitting around with rotting rubber or the odometer is broken. -
@E28E30 Its Red though!

So many cylinders and turbos
-
4 doors may be stiffer but 2 doors create more stiffness IMO

Watched the top gear video on this yesterday - amazing car - the engine noises! crazy that its a Z4 coupe underneath. 'Best' BMW ever I would be voting for E9 CSL / E30 M3 Sport Evo / E46 M3 CS or CSL with 3 pedals. Either that or a E90 320i.

Kiwi specs on cars are always a bit odd - can always spot NZ new GTIs for example as they have the uprated alloys but never Xenon’s

And up pops one that looks to be worth it. Shame its not one of the louder colours but white E36's are rare enough and look great. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3453238373?bof=7OhyAXKn Don't see many this clean and original.

Nice work, I think these look absolutely sensational with hardtop up in a dark colour. Hate to think what your old Dino GTS might be worth now!

Dude, you are crushing it! awesome work - I do love an E46 wagon, wouldn't mind picking up one as a daily later in the year but my wife needs something to tow a horse float 😑
-
Central and North Shore, the E30 appeal is universal 🤣
-
@E28E30 So clean!! The iS / SE bodykit is so classy. You and @adro need a joint photoshoot 😎
-
You can hang out with it again next week haha 😎

Cool, its probably not a bad time to buy right now, being summer and with quite a few people trying to 'cash in' on the market - a lot more choice than when I was looking in October / November. E46 sold in a few days fortunately and is currently funding the E30 project. Absolutely loving the E30 life - car needs plenty to get it to where I want it but is still really usable and fun as is and it certainly doesn't hurt when random people yell out "nice car sir" / take pics of it 🤣
-
Nice, what model are you looking at? As with any old car, would suggest having at least 25% of the cars purchase price set aside for catching up on deferred maintenance.

Typical 90s Auckland scene
-
Yup, not much I didn’t expect / am planning to do (suspension and bushings basically). Bonus find was updated sways front and rear - 24mm / 16mm. Original exhaust doing well thanks to Remus and Coby haha
-
Definitely looking closer to her age underneath. @BMTHUG giving her the once over so I can see how much of a financial mistake I’ve made 🤣

Few posts above - sold on 13th December for $46,100 - basically the reserve. I recall there was only one or two bids as well - I was surprised as I thought it might push $50K. Still got the patched up bolsters. I'm not sure what they are trying to do with the plates - was NND548 last year now under NZT846 in Carjam (with no other plate history on carjam despite being re-registered at least once) but has a plate registered to an Audi in one of the pics? I think they've mistimed this a little, judging by the 4 very very nice E30's on TM for $30k plus starting to gather dust, I have a feeling the E30 market has plateaued for now (as soon as I bought mine of course haha).
