Agreed. To be honest I thought it looked nicer in stock guise, I don't see the blacked out features as improvements. Of course it's your car and your right to do what you like with it but I am just saying.

    1996 E36 323i

Looks very straight. I wish all standard spec E36s looked a tidy as this on the road. They would be so much more attractive - then again that goes for any car. GLWS!
  3. Mmm nice shed. Looks like a good buy! Having the right place to work on a car makes all the difference.
  4. Are you with NAC? I rang up for a quote for my car a few weeks ago, it was surprisingly cheaper than I expected! .

    My Other E30

    Love the wheels! Nice.
  6. Haha yeah thanks, there has, probably too much. I tend to over think things. Although on the matter of exhausts and the noise output with using vacuum valves: Quote from the Lvvta standards From what I gather, under the Lvvta ruling for this class of car I have up to 95 dba. I would be highly doubtful it will be any louder than that even with at the loudest setting. Time will tell!
  7. Well, I was going to have it true dual as I am quite fond of the exhaust note thats produced, I had the same Audi RS4 rear mufflers on another V8 car a few years ago and it sounded pretty damn good unbalanced. But, they can sound even better with an H pipe to smooth out the note, so I came up with the idea of using vacuum actuated H pipe pieced together with some sections of an E36 M3 center resonator and a spare rear RS4 vacuum flap. This means I can open and close the valve at the touch of a button inside the car to change the tone. It will be very interesting to hear the difference it makes.
  8. Hows the project been coming along James?
  9. It looks like a caravan...
  10. Yes yes, here it is now completed off the car. I look forward to hearing those noises it will make. Although it's not quite yet ready for start up at this stage.
  11. Has this been on the dyno yet?
  12. Glad you don't want a 318i just to have a BMW The 330i is probably the best choice, especially if you can find a manual one. The V8 540is are also good but are a bigger heavier car so keep that in mind. They can get costly if they go wrong too, but the trick is to buy a decent example with full service history so you know what you're buying.

Mmmmm that is pristine, one of the best examples I've seen on Trade Me I think!
  14. Tacked up the exhaust on the V8 all the way to the mid section, will have it connected to the exhaust manifolds tomorrow. Start up shall not be far way! (once fully TIG welded)
  15. Indeed, if I found rust like that first thing I would do is drop it off and my panel shop. If you can't afford the repair, fair enough, sell your BBS wheels and get some bottle caps for the time being
  16. Yes yes. They introduced this in the line up to bring the average CO2 output of the Aston Martin range.... since Ford sold it there were no more 1 - 1.5 litre cars to help with the average between the co-owned parent companies so they had to take drastic measures (with many in disapproval) if they were to maintain their big engines. Companies like Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini managed to avoid this as within the co owned companies there are a range of smaller eco cars with low CO2 emissions. Ferarri is owned by Fiat S.p.A and Lambo part of Volkswagen Group which is probably the biggest automotive parent group in the world, comprised of Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Å koda and Volkswagen marques. Plenty of cars in that range to provide a lower CO2 output!

    M3 worklog

Ugh, stunning, it's one thing to have an immaculate upper body, but that under carriage is second to none. Marvelous work!

    E34 540i Auto

That is a real bargain! Although the price sits right in todays market for such a type of car.
  19. Oh my, I didn't even know they existed! Amazing.
  20. Hmm I would be more inclined to get that rut cut out to stop it and some new sheet metal welded in place. Best thing to do is strip the whole area back and see how extensive it is first.
  21. Installed the M-Tech bumper brake ducts and underside bumper quarter guards. Otherwise I've been working on the 4-2-1 exhaust manifolds, so far so good. I will have to post some pictures soon.

    Project 30

I think most people do it that way. Such a cock up having the carpet mounted in the a/c equipment like it is.
  23. I doubt you will get a response... Original Poster was "Last Seen: 7th November 2010 - 11:22 AM"
  24. Yeah Matt ^ That one has the potential to be quite good less the non BMW-esque add ons.
