That is a very interesting way to get old bushes out!

Welcome Jordy. Nice choice of BMW, the E39 530i would be my pick of the bunch too. I find they are not quite as serious or possibly problematic at the 540i models and offer a good balance of power & torque with the 3.0L capacity over the el-cheapo 2.0 or 2.5L versions. Got any plans for the car?

Nice sound, Stupid location for filming mind you... Too bad about that molested E30 M3 also featured.... the owner needs reminding it's not a Honda Civic
-
What does that readout on the steering wheel display?
-
Well, it would need twice what it sold for spent on it fixing the knackered suspension etc... cambelt / water pump probably due even though they stated it was. Plenty of good LS400s or Celsior for 3-6k that are in better condition / lower KMs. That particular one looks fairly rough. Still probably keep going for sometime if the core components are still in serviceable condition (trans/engine etc) but eh.

Just Been For A "Bedding In" Drive.
Michael. replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in General Discussion
Awesome How did you go about bedding them in? I need to do this with the new M3 brake setup I put on recently, although I need to finish the exhaust before I can take it for a run. I've done some research so got a fair idea on the dos and don'ts but just curious to hear how others went about it themselves. -
Awesome, that should sound fantastic, especially with the top down. I look forward to hearing this beast at a Bimmersport event some day! The exhaust has anyways been been the number 1 factor for my E36 V8 conversion since day one, finally it's nearly there. (welding up the headers currently!)

I like your passion for the SMG II system. I think it's great personally. Then again I am bias for such electronic trickery of the gears. My V8's 5 speed automatic has a full stand alone computer transmission controller plus a modified valve-body for those extra crisp changes. No buttoning off the gas here!
-
Whoops, is the exhaust one piece or something?
-
Crack? I did that when I tried to removed my E34 screen in a rush, whoops.
-
Haha, I've always been skeptical of using them. Who are the best people to get glass windows replaced by?

Awesome, although I was hoping it would come up to Auckland, would be nice to see another 1UZ conversion thats been done to a high standard! -
This should be very interesting with the upgraded engine. Look forward to seeing the results
-
Great engine!, just needs a nice body shape to go in.
-
Pfft no E36.
-
Nice, what model did you go for?
-
I think the front is ostentatious and ghastly, quite like the rest though, but the E38 is still the number one 7er for me.
-
Hahah, I have to laugh but at the same time it would be a lot of fun. As I was saying to Brent earlier this week, they seem out of place American carb V8s in BMWs, but never the less are something different and can put a simile on ones face. What sort of tranny are you running?
-
That torque reading would be the tractive effort no doubt. Can't be a diesel, note the peak RPMs
-
Awesome Nathan. A classic example of an E36 coupe! Door card material is looking good for the age, any stretching/separation going on? Probably wouldn't hurt to put new Vanos seals in if you feel it could be an issue. Also re the rear trailing arm bushes, I recommend to get a spacer limiting kit from Vorshlag or similar - they stiffen the rear end right up, ideal if you want to take it around the track.
-
Well the E46 is a nice evolution of the E36, being a bit more modern etc, but I feel they gained a bit too much weight and loose a bit of the light weight edge the E36 have. Ultimately it depends how much you want to spend.
