By the way the stock M3 exhaust is actually an impressive efficient system, it often gets a bit of slack for the tinny noise but for the interior it produces a good resonance and allows you to enjoy the glorious intake which is one of the best characteristic of the S54 engine. Accidents happen for a variety of reasons. Like all this M3 loss was unfortunate. There's a couple E46 M3s written off, on the usual salvage sites, should you want to buy one to restore and put back on the road.

Good price. It's a reasonable oil if you still run cats. Without cats and if you drive harder, the Penrite Racing/Premium range is a better option, higher ZDDP levels

I believe they are crimped in and need to be machined out, some guys have done the same restoration in Australia, but Im looking for a local place to do it.

Good idea re oil analysis, I've just started doing such on my 3UZ soarer to see whats going on with the Penrtie 5w-30 Race 5 oil I run, after 4500km / 6 months it was showing 10 ppm copper, all the other metals less than that. Only anomaly was 79 ppm Silicon (Si) content, but I think this was from the old container I used, so next time I'll be sure to use clean new stuff for the next sample. I used lubenz.co.nz $66 for the sample test.

Do they modify the engines much to handle the supercharger?

Does anyone happen to know places in NZ that would be able to remove and install new ball joints on control arms, where the ball joints are not typically removable service items? I've got some discontinued hard to get arms, so looking to get my spare set worked on.

Curious to know some specs on the M54B30 and S54B32 Particularly length from the back of the engine to the front of the accessories, height from bottom of sump and width cylinder head to intake manifold side (basically major extremities) Also like to know the dressed weights, preferably with all accessories and fluids of the engines less trans, any figures would be useful though. Seen a lot of figures of the block weights, short or long - but rather know actual weights with everything.

Yes, put the last 7 digits into an EPC and that would bring up the model specifics, and if you go to the diff section, should tell you the different diff ratios it was spec'd for if auto or manual.
