Pricing seems to be shifting pretty quick with E46 330i models. I remember when I bought my 325i E36 in 2009 for 5k, it seems like quite a good buy as a 16 year old car. Any decent 330i models coupe/sedan/wagon were all in excess of 15k at that time, 20k or whereabouts for a well optioned model. I would have though 6,7,8k would be relative for a decent 330i example, condition dependent now days. Less than 5k seems 318-320-323i money. My dad just bought a single owner NZ new 330i Motorsport sedan for 7.5k with all the service history, 188km. Seems very reasonable at the end of the day, only fault I've noticed with the car are slightly tired engine mounts giving a bit of vibration at low rpms.

I quite liked style 68s from E46s on my E36. But my favorite would be the E36 type II M3 wheels.

Does seem to be asking a premium over others of similar year and spec... have to at least be a motorsport version for that kinda price IMO Depends what kinda service history can be provided too, considering its NZ New.

Raise the suspension

Hard to get a better E36 4 door in all fairness.

Unbelievable car. I gave it a good inspection and it's immaculate compared to some other ones out there for twice the money. I was surprised it wasn't sold sooner, but I think he was the first person to view.

A friend got some good results polishing the drivers light on his recently purchased 2001 530i today. Those facelift headlights do look sharp!

Found an oil leaking pipe on the 330i. Need to put that on the to do list for mum! Fixed my ultrasonic mirrors, die water drops!

I'd just get a crappy stock jack piece with the indented shaft section, replicate it or just use that and have a plate welded on.

A fabricator should be able to make those up fairly cheap.

Surely it''s worth fixing and putting back on the road? I heard E90 320is might be a future classic with good resale value.

Sounds like Jon is correct, ETK states S456 Comfort seat with memory

Sorry. Busy day at work and didn't have time to follow up. Ordered a flap kit from Ebay, $99 nzd delivered, should do the trick. My friend with the car didn't see the point of buying a whole new unit.

Hmmm what made you use a 1uf cap instead of 0.47uf? I would have stuck with the original capacitance Dave, you've increased it 100% by going to 1uf - it might have some performance side effects for that particular part of the circuit. Caps usually have a tolerance of +/- 10 to 20% so by lifting it to that extent is not something I'd recommend. That said it's only one cap, so probably hasn't had that big of an affect overall. At least it's working however! Voltage is okay to lift when it comes to caps however. I've replaced over 500 capacitors in my V8 Soarer in recent months. Detail is everything!

Yes, I am asking where one can get them. Well aware of what can happen.

My friend just bought a very lovely 530i tonight in excellent overall condition. Has a few niggles here, one of which is a rattling adjuster unit flap / DISA component on the intake. What is the best method to sort this unit, are parts avaliable or does it mean a whole new unit from BMW?

I don't really rate generic electric fans for radiator cooling, they seem to me more of an aux back up or for smaller oil coolers. From what I've noticed the usual ex China generic car fan kits are fair basic in design with a low blade pitch and pretty noisy. Not sure of the stats, but I get the impression they are pretty taxing on electrical power too, putting a fair bit of load on the alternator. So it's not like you free up parasitic power by using one. Alternatively, what is really wrong with the viscous clutch fan? They regulate speed smoothly only when temperatures get high and freewheel most of the time putting little load on the engine, especially at highway speeds. The blades are bigger and have a greater pitch so will flow more air easily too.

308,000kms. Prob explains why its been parked up and left neglected. At least its had some good use!

Very nice Brent, looks sharp. I just changed the wheel in my Soarer too. Nothing worse than an old sticky wheel. Ruins the whole experience!

Tinkering with a few spare touchscreen units I picked up today. Going to do some capacitor replacements, possibly LED retrofit to replace the dated fluoro backlight tube and inverter. Oh whoops this is not from my BMW. Better do something on mum's 330i !

Make a good track toy. Just strip it out. The interior would be pretty stuffed and moldy I'd imagine!

Plenty of places sell replica wheels for a lot less. Of course cheaper quality, but that is what you get trying to save on such. Or look around on TM for second hand OEM wheels.
