  1. It’s well over a year (2-3-4?) since I did those the first time, if you’re waxing or polishing the car (with a polisher) anyway, it’s 2-3 min per side, I never bothered with a sealant.
  2. Got an orbital polisher? Just use an ordinary polish for fine swirls, use plenty, works a treat.
  3. The rear of a 992 and the front of an F Type? No thanks.
  4. Then grab one with a ppi by Lexus/Toyota that leads into a No Worries Warrantee, it means what it says. Full coverage to 150km and drivetrain thereafter, but iirc, if you had the car prior to 150km when the warranty was issued, full coverage is maintained. Just have it serviced there, they normally do a nice line in courtesy cars and servicing is competitive. Just avoid a Singapore import. Nz new first, then Japanese.
  5. Easily overlooked the Campbell.
  6. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/467991808238940/ without the crank snapping and lower kms.
  7. I have the same (top one) in my coupe. Just started seeping out of the bottom of the expansion tank. Looks like there is a washer or two able to be replaced?
  8. Washed the X5 after Akld-Wgtn-Taupo-Akld-Coromandel-Akld. Last two days under a Puriri with wood pigeons shitting on it. Took 3 hours with a clay bar and buckets of water to get it nearly back to where it was.
  9. I quite liked the colour, low ks appealed.
  10. It was down Parenata/Papakowhai way with the original owner. I didn’t think it was bad at &9k given the ks, but $16.5 non negotiable?
  11. Considering it was on FB marketplace at the end of Nov for $9,700 asking, no. Sorry, mid October with 71kms.
  12. 18kms is what BMW told me to expect on a standard alignment, he suggested easing off on the negative camber rears if I wanted to increase tyre life, I’m not that bothered. That tyre life ties in with what I’ve just experienced with the car, I’d estimate 22-24kms, but it now does more kms in town turning manouvering etc. There is no suspension damage, air bag issues or alignment problems, it’s just a big heavy car on (factory) 21” wheels running some negative camber that sometimes gets driven enthusiastically and sometimes carries a sh*t load of luggage/roof box/bike rack. It’s the inner edges on the rears that give up, an upside is that 18kms is better than 15kms which I got on my Falcon Turbo. I have a friend with an E70 Motorsport that regularly tows a heavy boat, he gets 8-10kms, so I’m already in credit.

    Quick rant thread.

In the central North Island, they fix pot holes by dumping a few large shovel fulls of tar seal into the hole. They don’t flatten it or roll it, they leave it for you to hit with your car, like a small judder bar at 100km/h. Doing this in winter so the tar seal can quickly set into small solid mounds is an added bonus.
  14. Hyper has bumped their price up to say they're $1500+ each, 40% gets them to just over $1k. They were on TM at $680 new and the ones I looked at were $500 each. Tyroola (probably also old stock) is $618. It was just a thought, I have a spare set of 20", so can hold off on the 21". Think I'll run with my "no'. Momo are about $1500/set in 20".
  15. Runflats, on the X5, probably 50/50 city/country, they’ll only last 18,000km anyway. They felt quite dry if that makes sense. I’m leaning no, not enough discount to try.
  16. I think I’ve made my mind up on this, but curious for any feedback. New, wrapped in plastic tyres, manufactured in 2017 (4 years, 15 weeks), offered at a 27% discount on new price. Yes or no?
  17. We pulled a Haines V198 that was 1905kg dry on the trailer once with an e36 320i auto. Can’t remember how much fuel it had in it, but it was a 200l tank. Probably wouldn’t do it again.
  18. Check with BM Workshop first, their prices were very good on a couple of items.
  19. Spareto for good shipping. Size 44 jandal for reference.
  20. Bugger. Both screens out to remove headlining.
  21. Tried Pickapart for a space saver? Just calculate the size to see if it will work. Also, if you get a flat with non run flats, you need to stop immediately. I shredded an $850 Michelin in 800m between noticing and stopping.
  22. @E28E30, first of the F15s, late 2013. Not sure if it’s Continentals only, they’re owned by Sime Darby and the offer came through them. Thought I’d seen it somewhere else in Akkd, but maybe I was imagining things. Has to be over 6 years old, fixed price for 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder or V8 (I think).
  23. Had the X5 serviced at Continentals on their Value Package. Quick,, impeccable service, great chat about the car, good advice, really was 10/10.
  24. Wish I had the spare cash, It would make for a good drive back from Wgtn after Xmas. GLWS.
