I do the same driving as you, down to the trips away. It doesn’t heat up for 9-10km. Facelift, and as highly optioned as you can find. Heads up and 360 cameras were on the e70, as were adaptive headlights (?). 20” wheels now have reasonably priced run flat options if you’re not too fussy on brand, 21” are still orphans. Some nz new fl seem to be well equipped, just check the car. As above, after 3 months of searching, I ended up with an f15, a 30d has pretty much identical performance as an e70 40d. I get 9.3l/100 as my long term average.

Considering the work and condition, same.

Like this one that I nearly bought off the previous owner for $29k last year. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/x5/listing/3292385992?bof=yPprpeN2

Someone on here had one for sale, it had a motor failure and was replaced with another motor, which had the same problem beginning, so had to be fully rebuilt. Add 98 octane fuel prices into the mix and I would say find a good diesel. They are quicker than you'd think and it doesn't matter if they're empty or loaded.

We are a bit off topic, but yes, like the $80 pfl e30 bumper I agreed on last week. “Oh it was stolen, don’t bother coming”
-
True, but the no reply is a hint in itself. I've bought some good stuff from FB and enquired about a lot more. Bad replies, no replies or one reply then silence are common.
-
It's a lottery, but you can get a hint from the replies.

It’s converted, but I still think $10k.

Paid $17k 2 years ago and has been at usell for at least 17 months. Bought a dud.

We looked at one of these in 1990, an “86 or ‘87 from memory. It had been towed in 3-4 times in the previous 18 months and had something like $25k of receipts for unexpected breakdowns. No thanks.

There’s an X3 at Pickapart Mangere, has door mirror, but not white.

People who drop construction debris etc on the roads. Felt the car pull to the left, pulled over about 800m later where able to. 25mm long, 15mm wide piece of metal through the middle of the tread. Inner sidewalls completely destroyed, new 325/30/21 Michelin Pilot SS x 2 for even tread wear. Lucky I had two in the shed.

That explains why it has been for sale for over a year.

On a side note, a mate had a 504 years ago, the drivers side rear guard had rusted out, so had been repaired with chicken wire netting, bog and newspaper, with a cursory spray of matching yellow paint over it. Completely visible from the boot, what you'd call an honest repair.

Looking back I guess that makes sense, I was looking at an X5 in Chch last year and vaguely remember it was $750ish for flights and no accommodation costs in Wellington.

Didn't Promo sort out some cheap shipping? Or drive it (when you can)? Assume it drives?

I like the bolt on Hilux flares.

I’m pretty sure I used a “soft” regular car polish on my last car. Worked fine.

A socket might work if it slipped over and through the ring, everything else just slips off. Tried pushing them in with all sorts. Thanks.

It’s attached to the intake for the turbo, so the mighty heave option potentially leaves me with a broken pipe and a no go car. I have pulled on it with as much pressure as I’m comifortable with. Tried squeezing the tabs, they are rubber and squash making them really hard to get a grip of, in fact impossible so far. There has to be something simple I’m missing.

This pesky thing. On an X5, but must be on others.

https://www.pickapart.co.nz/webpage/WebPage.asp?Ref=10381&VehicleID=12990&SeriesID=6520 looks like the lights are gone though.

There was one at Pick a part. Auckland though.

Someone must have an idea on how to take this stupid thing off. Anyone?
