How much thirsty is this V8, 4,8i 2007 •BMW• X5
Neal replied to VIKINGNZ's topic in General Discussion
I saw 21 litres per 100 km on one that I checked out that was on school run duties. But the plus side with the 4.8i is they tend to have every option ticked like rear seat heating. They are a quick monster too :-) The sd diesel would be my pick in a price range near the 48is. Became the 40d . -
Come to think of it the eject box just has the passive GSM aerial. Bluetooth aerial is mounted in the console separately.
-
Been watching the x5 market myself and looking for something similar. Very nice in white. Check out some of the ntb conversion / retrofit options rather than the older cic / ccc conversions. Looking like the conversions are straight forward

I remember seeing a similar sight at the local shopping mall. E39 driver parked across two disabled car parks. I asked the driver if he was mentally disabled...... Mean while a guy in his 80s ? walks across the crowd car park, looks at me and then the e39 driver and chuckles at the conversation I'm having

Check that the pins you've used go via the eject tray pairing button. These will ground pin 32 to ground if paired correctly when pushed. The other area to check is the old eject box aerial connection is going to the passive aerial connection on your new eject box. What you could do is try shorting pin 32 to a ground ( can be anything) and see if the board monitor displays peering mode. The other thing is pairing is done in the manner shown in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJi0NUWQQQ0

Pop re55s into trademe. You'll see the sizes and the dealers that still have them.. I almost put a set on the M3 late last year when I couldn't source Re11 s or the replacement re71r which where around $2.2 k a set. Re55s where something like $1300 for a set in 18s ! Just wasn't convinced that I could drive on these every day.
-
Also check the re55s runout specials . $149 per corner in 17s and street legal like the 888s

If non of this works check out virtual machines section further down the article

Have a read through this guide. Might be enough to get the software and drivers working. I've used similar techniques to get old car stereo dsp serial flash apps working over proprietary unsigned Bluetooth drivers. http://www.howtogeek.com/228689/how-to-make-old-programs-work-on-windows-10/

No, but a remember a number of NZ e30 m3s examples that where converted to RHD from new. I remember seeing a hell red e30 m3 with Hartage wheels and badges at Shelly BMW in the late 80s / early 90s. Had a 6x9 alpine dual coil sub mounted on the rear parcel shelf and was 2.3 s14 based. I've always wondered what happened to this car, must be sitting in someone's shed ? This was before fibre glasses guards and alibarber knock off badges hit the market .

Zero, if my wife saw this post your days on this earth would be limited ? Might pay to take a second glance every time you see a blue e36 328i......you've been warned

Is this the Hartage model iin RHD ?

Hired one for part of honeymoon in1999. Two weeks of top down fun. Great little car, was a 1.9. Some of the best motoring had in a BMW and on pair with e46 m3 . Couple years later I win a weekend BMWNZ drive of the 3.0 version. Still fun but really annoying exhaust drone around 109 kmh. Auto gearbox was very lazy ( are these adaptive?) so either nothing when overtaking or full on to the point of loosing traction on tight 2-3rd corners. For me the 1.9 manual was a great drive and the 3.0 auto wasn't a great experience. I thinking I'll get one of these (1.9) for the daughters first car, but have been thinking of one for the comute.

Nice to see a standard as factory car. Becoming a rare sight these days. Great picture BTW

E36 M3 Convertible.... Wasn't this on TM for 14K
Neal replied to jonoe30's topic in TradeMe discussions
Could be the start of the E36 M3 price rises? They've been bottomed out on price for some time -
Aren't most NZ garage door openers on the 433 MHz band for rf remote ? USA is 315 MHz

I check wds and come back to you.

On older ibus versions its more of a electrical conversion that a software plus hardware plus coding affair. Its largely plug and play. What I'd recommend is that you check out http://www.info.org.nz/?download=e39_jap_2_euro_nav_conversion_mar09.pdf and also take your time to understand the WDS wiring information and cross check the wiring colours. http://www.bmw-planet.com/diagrams/release/en/ In my e46 both the japan nav and telephony module have been swapped out for mk4 and Bluetooth Ulf. I needed up buying the factory.loom for TV to mk4 module and found that a few wiring colour codes where different in the telephone module. The nice thing about the mk4 module is it only needs a subset of the jap nav wiring to work. The gps Trimble stage is built in you can get away with not needing wheel pulse feeds as it estimates average speed reasonably well. In the telephone module I use the shark fin aerial instead of installing a factory BT aerial and the coverage works in my lounge with the car parked in the garage. If the car was a late model Merc which runs basic encryption between modules then your posting link is quite valid. Its easier to turn one of these into a teapot than people think . A few stories of performance remaps which render the car useless with the only fix is to re-issue a new factory id and only at the dealers discretion. $9k later .....
-
Btw, with the tv tuner module you can plug your phone video out into the BMW screen for the life's of google maps. Use voice commands to control the app for hads free.. It's a bit clunky and mono audio but does work.
-
Reminds me, voice turn instructions are nicely mixed into factory audio system at a volume level of your choice . Basic distance before turn shows up on dash display as well so . Can also run split screen with radio on one side and intructions on other. There is a choice of voices with the Nav software version cd.

Mine was a Jap import and has the annoying infrared system Thinking of getting the rf keys and having the Dwa led use the clown nose. Photo would be useful

I remember peanut butter sandwich lunches and 60km commuting two up a 250cc motorcycle to save money.4 years. Not owning a TV for 5 years, no going out unless birthday or similar. Wife did degree over 10 years in evenings and weekends. I did whatever overtime I could and pushed myself at work.I Had the same e30 for 15 years /330,000kms. First house paid off in late 30s. Apart from the Auckland market I tend to smile at people b$tching and moaning about getting into the housing market yet will have $1k cellphones , $40-60k tied up in a cars and spend a few hundred on a Friday entertaining themselves. It's a matter of choices and some hard work.
