5 pointsHi guys, im new to the site, i appreciate all of the good and not so good comments they all have fair judgements..i guess its odd to say that it should be priced 15k lower, ive never ever seen an 850 in this condition go for less than 25k, have a look around, yea sure its had an unfortunate history but i really dont think it matters eh, its a stunning car as most have said, just over 100 watchers 2200 views and a number of offers, including an e46 m3 cabrio swap and a number of deals, its a car that has to be viewed and already have an interested buyer... I put it up on some of the other pages and got decent attention, its time for me to move on from it ive had it since i was 20 for 4 years now. Im amazed that it was up for so cheap a numver of years ago!!!no way!!i would have snapped it up, i certainly didnt spend that little on it, its really one of a kind and in a league of its own, cant be compared to your average 850s around.. Hence the higher price tag, and no im not looking for idiots..im looking for a market who has money to buy a rarity, its not a dealership type car that everyone has, its also higher priced because its a reluctant sale.. So im in no rush as i dont need the money so im not bothered if someone offers less for it.. But wont let it go for less thatn its worth.. I love it and the next person will too, there are pleennty of faster cars, better handling cars but i believe there are verrry few cara that have a wow factor and turn heads like this..looks like a csi without the price tag.. Cheers for all the input!

2 pointsSo. Lets take the past few days shall we? You helped fund other Kiwis to go to Gallipoli to celebrate our historic 100 year anniversary of the ANZAC landings. [see: http://beehive.govt.nz/release/pm-attend-gallipoli-anzac-day-commemorations] You helped fund civil defence specialists to go and ensure the safety of your fellow Kiwis who are living on the isolated Chatham Islands who have taken a bit of beating from Cyclone Pam. [see: http://beehive.govt.nz/release/minister-thanks-all-involved-cyclone-response] You helped contribute 2.5 million dollars to our Pacific neighbours of Vanuatu who are facing terrible destruction and the aftermath of Pam which includes hygiene and sanitary issues, food shortages, health problems, not to mention deaths. Oh, yeah, you have also helped get many Kiwis home who were stuck there. [see: http://beehive.govt.nz/release/nz-aid-flight-tanna] You have helped fund the development of arguably one of the most neglected but extremely necessary parts of NZ Health system which is Mental Health services for young people (read: depression). [see: http://beehive.govt.nz/release/youth-accessing-primary-mental-health-services] $150,000 (baseline MP yearly salary) x 120 MPs = $18 million. A drop in the bucket in the tax collection world. We don't live in a communist society - so look to live elsewhere if you would like to live in a place where the Govt can dictate market house prices (freedom of market, supply and demand anyone?). This. There looks to me no plan just suggestion. But like most suggestions it needs credible policy framework. This will be years off if it even gets that far. And you are right it will be a logistical nightmare. Exactly the actual ability to implement such a policy is minute. You ask an overseas retailer to add 15% on each transaction that 'appears' to be from NZ I.P? Then buyers use a proxy and make it look like they are elsewhere. You say POS charges will just be made when your debit/credit card is charged by an overseas vendors? How do you monitor that - especially when charges offshore could be made when travelling. You say the responsibility is on the buyer to register all offshore purchases with the Taxman at the end of each financial year? So how do to catch people out? Monitor all NZs incoming mail? And then try to differentiate between what is a gift and what is a purchase? No, no, no. Will not ever be feasible (financially or logistically) ever. My view? Its nice rhetoric to small to medium business owners but it ain't gonna happen. If it could have happened, 7th year into a fiscally prudent National Government, it would have already.

2 pointsHe stinks' He stinks at his job He stinks as a Mayor He stinks as a person and he stinks as a Man. When something smells that bad, it'll make your nose bleed.
-
2 pointsAgree. They will quickly find it costs way too much to chase the money. Customs will not want to do this for free. Delays and fees will cause much grief. Everyone goes on about supporting NZ Companies. Just because a retail store is in NZ doesn't make it a NZ company. The Mrs and I purchase nearly all our wearable items and electronic goods from overseas. We save hundreds per year. To buy the same items in NZ you would be buying them from an Australian Owned retail store. Economies of scale dictate our prices. NZ can never compete with online sales from Europe and the US.
-
2 pointsAlthough i am all for supporting NZ business, they do need to wake up and be competitive, and competitiveness does not just mean on price. I can look through decide what i want and build a pelican order in about half an hour and buy. No NZ BMW parts specialist new or second hand has that facility, so its usually more than a day backwards and forwards, and I feel bad asking for quotes on 20 things etc with no gaurentee they will get the job. I have no idea if Gavin or Paul etc are cheaper or not on the orders over $800, but because my time is not worth the day or more mucking around, they dont even get thier foot in the door. those guys only get the scraps. That is one example of one sub industry, but its all common place in engineering, goods wholesalers, even shipping companies How long can NZ go on as poor little old us.

1 pointhttp://m.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=11418802 Read this and thought to myself how badly it will affect the buying of cheaper car parts or pretty much anything online. I really don't know how some people are going to save money in an economy where every price goes up but the wages or salaries you earn sigh

1 pointW211 is certainly more comfortable, better seats probably a big part of that, but I find the handling all a bit loose, too much like an aussie station wagon for my liking. Perhaps the E350 station wagon is a little more "wallowy" than the sedan? Don't get me wrong, a midsize family wagon is never going to be anything close to a sports car, but the 530i has the capacity to bring a smile to my face from a driving experience that the E350 never could do. And the sound of the straight 6 just better to my ear than the V6 in the E350. Totally agree E60 v E61 shape, unless it were for an M5 I don't think I'd go for the sedan.

1 pointHey all Recently bought a 2008 135i 6-spd in sedona red as my first BMW - absolutely stoked with the purchase! Coming from a 2004 legacy gtb the touque of the engine is just awesome as well as the sound. Photo's don't do the car justice as it is very small staunch gnarly little car, so will try and bring it along to the next meet! Got a few mods planned in the coming months to make the most out of the N54 and good looks of the coupe so will be sure to be you up to date! Aaron

1 pointAhh brabus Monoblock Vs. Used to have a set..saw someone mentioning monoblocks. I think the guy that bought the car off me still has them somewhere
-
1 pointHaha so passionate! Who you liking the look of to replace...you think with the same left wing idealogy Goff can do a better job........?
-
1 pointYeah the 500s are good, not the punch of our 550 having 60 less horses but still more smack then anything you can get for the price, I put a UK aftermarket head unit in it as well as the jap radio will be useless, expect 700 to 1000 to address this. Get right on 10l /100 k so damn good on gas but I'm mainly open road driving as well. E55 would definitely be dreamy...
-
1 pointIt will probably leak with out it, you can helicoil or timesert the block.
-
1 pointYeah had no issues with the E500, airmatic always in the back of my mind.... The 7 Spd box and drive is smooth and slick so always the choice if cruising. But I have trashed it up the Kaimais and that was still pretty sh*t hot LOL Really bang for V8 buck it's hard to pass IMO
-
1 pointThey do seem to freshen it up in clears but I also like the OEM, oh what to do ? Either way it looks pretty sh*t hot!
-
1 pointLove the clears on that particular car. Had the pleasure of owning a sl600 for a short period. Was a beauty. Yours is too. Nice car man. Personal preference with regards to the indicator lenses but clear all the way from me.

1 pointPeople will always look for a easier, convenient, cheaper way to purchase items it's human nature this just happens to be one of them. Some one will come up with a scheme to get round this wait and see.
-
1 pointYup. Now we can get on with sorting all those other rorts like offshoring profits. Oh wait..

1 pointThe joke of the situation with buying from NZ companies is they don't stock very many items and they have to get it from overseas. They want to charge you freight and then add their 300% margin. They don't even try and be competitive. The 15% GST will make very little difference. I pay the GST on many items anyway. I buy online because it's much easier and very much cheaper.

1 pointSo he is fishing for an idiot? Good luck to him. Have seen it happen a number of times. Idiots are everywhere.
-
1 pointHmm I want it. But I am trying to get rid of cars not buy more. Would go well towing around my 535is.

1 pointFair bit of Maintenance work to be carried out shortly, just need to wait for it to be delivered and hopefully dodge customs.. - New OEM clutch and Flywheel - Driveshaft Donut (Guibo) - Driveshaft centre bearing - All new fastners, gaskets and mountings for Exhaust (rusted to Fcuk) - New OEM shifter rod (replace ebay nasty short shifter) - New Z4 M illuminated shift knob - Full shifter assmebly rebuild with new bushings and clips. Got this delivered the other day - New under tray which mounts behind the engine under tray.
-
1 pointYeah, the laborious task of emailing for quotes on certain items is just archaic, may as well be in 1998 with a dial up modem. I have to do that with sourcing Toyota parts locally from dealers among other things.
-
1 pointHow will it level the playing field when local retailers have absurd mark ups while stocking a very poor range of products. Half the reason I buy overseas is due to something not being available here, or it's considerably more expensive here. It's not just 15% that gets slapped on for $401 at the moment, I've also been charged another $50 for ridiculous security and customs fees with GST on those!

1 pointThanks Ray, the cheaper the better. Don't mind if it needs a bit of TLC.

1 pointNZ is quite hard to predict as its quite narrow and where it is things change quickly. But doctors f**k up all the time, at least they get to bury their mistakes. If I make a f**k up, I have to fix it - free of charge.
-
1 pointFair enough. Not all women from the Hamilton have chlamydia, but I avoid them as a general rule to be safe.. I have a mate who slept with a women from Hamilton, it was months before he noticed the corrosion on his shock absorber and by then it was to late. My "had a mate" stories are real, like they are my mates and I have seen the extent of the damage. I have the suspension parts in my shed, if you compare them to my other spare parts its amazing just how corroded the UK parts are. Be safe kids.
