I was referring to the inaccurate rumour part of the previous posts, I love the way these things get reported, distorted and turned into rumours and stories. You would have to be rather gullible to think any elected government going through such a process would be anything other than squeaky clean on such a high-profile tender. But that won't stop that gormless twat Little and his cronies trying to bash National over it I suppose??

Nothings ever easy. A job I thought was going to take a couple of hours ended up taking all day. Replaced the right rear door today. Discovered the donor car didn't have rear air bags so I had to swap over the doors wiring looms. And in the process pulled out the lock actuator with the loom. DON'T DO THIS. It took me over an hour to get it back in. So, the new door is on and it's nice to look at the car and not see the dent anymore. There are a couple of "buts" though. You where right Grant. It's a slightly darker silver and I never took note that the window trim on the 750i is piano black and the 728i is just black. I also didn't notice that the window is de-laminating so at some stage in the future I'll have to swap out the window and the window trim. Not looking forward to that job..lol It still needs a slight adjustment to get the fit right but I'm done for today.

Common occurance here in NZ... apparently all BMW's are taught to swim... most only get stuck in the mud

Wheels have arrived. Rears are 11.5 x 18 -67. Looks like we have stuffed up on the fronts and the offset is 25mm too much. Mocked up the tyres for the front to get a better idea and am much happier with that. Need to order some new fronts, but we can now progress with the rear bodywork whilst the rims are made and shipped.

Would be using ATF, that's what it is going to live the rest of its life in.

Well in the potatoes defence it was a bit rooted

The potato with a lens used to take those pics is not doing this car justice

Thanks Chris I'm pleased you noticed the difference Always been my advice.... lifetime is bullshit... Even BMW had gearbox & diff service intervals before the advent of "lifetime oil bullshit" Oil breaks down and gets contaminated . Lifetime might only mean something to manufacturers that are engineering their vehicles to have a recycling lifetime of 3-5 years which is now happening in the industry.

Took it for a drive around Auckland. This 650s is still on Trade Me. Friend of mine had black 12C before (you can see it on my other posts) and ordered 675LT. Should be arriving in Auckland in December.

im sure the insurance company will have made the assumption its certed. With our silly rules, despite being all OEM parts and power level as a "real" 325i, it will still need drive shaft hoops, other than that should pass fine

Yeah, they've signed up for 32 special 730s no doubt they will be a stripped down version and they are leased. Apparently even a couple of armoured ones Even arriving before the retail stock

Washed the e28 again. Started pulling the e34 apart. Starting with the valve cover, the number 1 intake rocker is broken. Also started taking apart the interior, which is strangely enjoyable.
