Ahh i did not explain this part lol. The first set were already paid for before i got involved. The second place tried to put new ones in. I explained to them it just had new ones and he said they were the wrong ones for this car. Didnt end up getting the second set or any other work done there. Got them to reverse extra work done and have taken the car back now. Onto the next place!

Thats nice. More realistically priced and he's added some more pics. For a L7 theres not a lot going on in the back though. Still. Very nice clean example. I do want..lol

Just under 5.4M long lol, certainly no bloody good here in Welly! Its a shame it seems to be a fairly basic optioned L7. High spec for any other car, but doesnt have the cool as full rear centre console or glass divider.

Now that's closer, had it listed for $22 for a while then $18, at least this is closer to the mark, pretty specialised market though Personally bit big for me but good wedding car for the money ??

Hey, honestly thanks heaps for all the feedback guys!! Yea kinda looking at this as a lesson to note down.... They were pretty cool about it over the phone when we called back to explain we didnt okay any work other than what was previously agreed upon as we are tight on cash atm (this was expressed in the beginning). So will hang fire till the Insurance company get back to us about covering the new issue, play it by ear and then will take it one issue at a time. All in all lesson is to not let your mrs take her car to a mechanic (Joshua Motors) by herself and was just a bad run of luck that the place I told her to take it to after as was recommended by some friends and has now got to this point. But for all I know they might pull through revert the extra work and not charge us. Yesterday was a bit of a vent situation haha

yea listen to glenn and do the oil and filter again with the right oil and genuine filter. it might seem like a waste as the service was just done but trust me it will be money well spent. also good on you for getting a 323 not a 320. big thumbs up!

Hi Ian, sorry for the slow response. For the effort of removing your front end suspension assy, or indeed just the rear struts, you don't want to do the job twice. Your bump stops will be knackered. There is no point re-fitting a stuffed bump-stop to new struts. You know all about it if you hit a broken bump-stop - bottoming out. I found - on my e46 rears - the top of the shock was rusted and swollen, the (perished) bump stop was stuck on it, and tore off when we tried to remove it. Bump stops are relatively cheap. Similarly, your dust boots will be hardened and won't prevent dust and grime reaching your strut/shock seals, promoting wear of your new shocks. The front strut bearings - an essential part of macpherson strut assembly - will be knackered, with wear and play. The strut bearings are what allows your strut to turn with the steering. The rear shock mounts frequently fail, and in the long run - particularly in lowered applications - contribute to damage to the body where the shock passes through to the mounts. As a guide, for my recent e46 suspension refresh, the bushes/bearings/bumpstops/dustboots/fasteners came to about 40% of the total budget. The car now rides like new. Seriously, why would you drop the strut, use spring compressors to change springs, disassemble the strut assembly, and then re-install/re-assemble worn-out parts? IMV, do it once, do it right. Most of the fasteners are recommended by BMW as one-time-use. You can choose to re-use... it's false economy, and I don't care to second-guess the BMW engineers for an extra $20. The good news is that most of the bushes/bearings etc are standard parts, regardless of M Sport (though the sway bar bushes may be harder durometer). It's your shocks and springs you want to consider for performance. You can save a few clams on OEM or similar parts, ten bucks here, twenty bucks there... the only thing you gamble with is longevity. For example, five or more OEM or OEM-quality suppliers for Strut bearings, with a variance in price for the part. It's worth noting that a lot of folks have a car with shagged out suspension, consider they need lower/stiffer etc and have never driven the car performing as factory spec in new condition. They might be surprised! good luck with your search. You've a car that was streets ahead of the rest back in the 90's, and was a benchmark in it's class. Taking a Toyota Camry approach to your suspension will be knobbling it's true performance/ride/handling/comfort/safety. Adopt the noodle and beans diet for a couple of months, feed your car the care it needs! #8 ) regards

Definitely go for the intermarque sprints this year. Follow some similar cars, learn some lines. I had an old dig passenger in my car first time out and teach me basic lines etc, was awesome.

Just had my m30 head rebuilt for the e30 swap. This included a cam rebuild and regrind, done by Franklin Cams. Head rebuild done by Doug from Dougs Engineering in Puke (this is who franklin recommended to me). Recommend both unreservedly. Came to around $900 total, including parts. Replaced around half the rockers. I did all the monkey work getting out of the car myself.

Late night runs over the Kopu - Hikuai, windows down, revs up. Stomping on it in the diesel station wagon in uphill passing lanes and watching other less torquey beings wondering why... even better when its loaded with kids gear and surf boards.

UPDATES: Thanks for the great feedback so far guys - just thought I'd give you all an update on where things are at, especially with 4andR at the end of this week! I wanted to reveal the colour I've decided to wrap the car - I went through many colour choices in my head and numerous discussions with the gf, but in the end my heart kept going back to this "Battleship grey" by Avery Dennison. The girlfriend wasn't a fan of it at the time, but she's since admitted to me that she likes the colour now Wrapping a car was a huuuuuuge undertaking, especially when neither of us had any prior experience, there were certainly many frustrating moments, but we just had to keep reminding ourselves that this was a learning experience, and that it would all be worth it in the end. Since finishing the wrapping for the car, I can now say I'd definitely do it again, it's not too bad once you get the hang of how the material behaves, and what kind of prep work you need to do first. Next, I wanted to add something to the front end of the car, some more aero, to make things look more aggressive. So two weekends ago, I was lucky enough to have help from two new friends help me build a functional, aggressive, custom front splitter for the bumper. The splitter is made from a plywood base, then covered with fibreglass. It is hard-mounted to the chassis. I have to give a MASSIVE thank you to Daniel for designing the splitter for me, and Bradley for allowing us to use his fibreglassing material and facilities. Not only that, also dedicating an entire day with me to starting and finishing the splitter in a day! A month ago, I had never met either of these two people before. Both of these guys had left the occasional comment on my photography work, expressing a fair amount of interest and following my build. Over a few chats over the internet, we managed to get all 3 of us together, as car enthusiasts to build something for the car. Through this, I can now call both of these guys good friends of mine. The fact that they had never met me, or knew who I really was, and were just so willing to lend a hand and dedicate their efforts to me and the build is unbelievable. It's moments like these that make me want to continue building a car community like this, where people can connect just through their shared love for cars. The following week was a tough one, fitment with tyres revealed I had not cut the original factory guards high enough, and the wheels were approximating with the factory guards before reaching intended ride height. So the week was spent re-measuring, and re-cutting the guards, followed by re-welding them. It was tough, but we managed to get it done in time. After much tinkering, we finally had the car sitting on the ground. Be warned, the following images of fitment, will probably make many purists on here cringe and criticize. Just remember, this is a show car. This car is the embodiment of a vision I had in my head, that I wanted to produce and show the world. So yes, I know it's not going to be a very 'functional' BMW. With that said ... here you go Just a few final things to work out for the final fitment and looks for the show, and she'll be ready to roll. In the meantime, we're working hard to finish up t he girlfriends 280zx project for the show too. Thanks for reading the update, here's a little bonus pic of the girlfriend's Work wheels getting some tyres thrown on PS. Hope some of you guys are going to 4 and Rotary show! Would be cool to meet some of you Peace

Sure it's not BMW, but it's still German and awesome. I hacked together some clips from last weekend and it's all on again this weekend.

Rant marked 1/10. Lack of extreme hyperbole, absence of excessive swearing and proper spelling all counted against. You also left out 'dont you know who I am'.
