2 pointsAppreciated. I'm happy to donate a contribution towards hosting/bandwidth if that's desired or required. Perhaps you could set up a donations page here on the site? Is that out-of-the-box with IP.Board?

2 pointsLast weekend I picked up this slammin' parts car. Beneath the rough spots it is actually a decent car with minimal rust, and it has a full black interior including leather. So most of that including the carpet will be going into mine. I will be keeping my Mtech seats however. Yesterday I started fitting my M5 replica front lip. Test fit: Paint: On: I also swapped the good fender from the parts car onto mine. It's actually in better condition than the last one was before the hit and the color matches close enough for now. Nevermind the sagging bumper, I will be putting my new one on shortly too. Started cleaning up some of the black interior parts from the parts car to go into mine: I'm going to be fitting the non AC center console from the parts car, just need to make a panel to fit my radio and I'm going to incorporate a space for some gauges while I'm at it: Also this arrived today: After a very long and tiresome search, I should have a single mass flywheel in the next couple days. So with any luck, the car will be going again by next week. Then I can cruise around and show off all my nice new parts.

1 pointSo I picked up this yesterday She is a 1987 325I Baur. South African import (just like me ) with a stuffed transmission (only goes in reverse,no forward drive gears) appears to be a genuine mtech 1 also. I will be doing a manual conversion as soon as I locate a manual box. I have purchased all the other bits ( pedal box, flywheel, etc). I have had the dream of owning one since I was really young as my cousin had one back home with full 325is running gear. I am super excited about this baby. She needs quite a bit of work ( indicators dont work but hazards do, rust spots on doors and obviously a stuffed gearbox) but for 3 k I couldn't say no. I will have more pics of her soon. Also I cannot figure out why the front removable part of the roof won't come off so if anyone has any tips I am all ears. She came on these BBS rims which seem to be genuine but not really my style (17's). Thoughts are welcomed oh and as with all e30s the speedo doesnt work haha so parts guys out there if yall can help I would appreciate it

1 pointYeah it's just waiting for someone who appreciates the work done and will pay for it. Looks grand.

1 pointIn a pinch we used nitrile as some dust seals on a brake caliper once. Once. Stick with EP seals unless you want a leaky squidgy mess where your seals used to be.

1 pointCompare Ireland's prices with Schmiedmann before you order, I've found they're cheaper and delivery time's much quicker as not as long a wait for back-ordered items. I ordered some gaskets etc from Schmiedmann on Monday, parts arrived in Auckland today and should be at my door when I'm home tonight.

1 pointThis is a rough car. I believe it was owned by a Uni student until it got repossessed. Personally I would not even go near it.

1 pointI wouldn't go too light, 6.5kg is fine for a flywheel and plenty light compared to the stock dual mass. Any lighter and your idle suffers and you also get alot more chatter and gearbox noise, maybe not so much with a ZF box but my Getrag box is really loud with a 6.3kg flywheel. I put in a mix of thicker oil and it quietened it but it's still pretty loud and can get annoying.

1 pointyea but so stock compared to the last one diamond schwarz metallic , car has had a repaint though. no s38 as of yet , but I have driven a s38b36 e28 and my 3.65L m88 was way better , I think if I did would need to a be a built up s38b36 as they need more cam ,bore size and compression etc yes might do , or can you redo these old cars back into a black plate? was originally MT693 , https://carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=na535 but my dad knew someone in the postoffice and who found the NA535 plate as that's my dads initials plate came up from Johnsonville, Wellington , which interesting was the place of one of the old owners I tracked down years ago when I 1st started looking for this car. tried to buy it off the guy then , but was not for sale at that stage , gave him my details for when I=he wanted to sell it , but ended up in trade-n-exchange and sold before I found out about it , then a few years later poped up on trademe , I didn't really want another e28 at that stage , so let it go ,but my mate brought it instead and has had it for about 10years now but only really used it for a few years . yea plate came from Johnsonville, Wellington. wheels I believe are early e38 750i type , I will most likely sell them at some stage when I decide what I want to replace them with yea maybe ;S thinking of these as a option custom wheels with the metric centres built into BBS RS lips orginal wheels where the other type only found on the M535i

1 pointSuspension's finally complete. All new front and rear. Sport shocks, csi bump stops and rear reinforcement plates and Eibach springs. What a difference! The old girl feels like new, so much grip in the corners. She's pretty low so the ride's a bit harsher than the floaty EDC but not much different to the mtech II suspension in my old E39 540i. She earned herself some new rubber on the fronts too. Resulting issues... Not sure I'll be able to navigate my steep drive if I fit my csi front spoiler... Too much low!! And on the odd hard bump thanks to our crappy roads, I get a bong like a check engine. Happened prior to overhaul too. No light so possibly just a loose electrical connection. Any ideas?
